The item is not to blame. That's a fight scenario, and play style issue. Your own fault.
You can just as easily be shut down while carrying a Phantom Dancer, or other core items.

So you are saying that playstyle and illogical thinking is what got you killed not the items. Well, thats not true at all since not all champs are just as strong fast and what not early game. Some champs are just able to get in there kill you and live no matter how good you are.

At least with an Infinity Edge on Ashe, if you recognized your defeat, sticking in the fight would let you deal more damage while having lower tier items like a phantom dancer would not achieve the same effect.

But now you are saying that the items do help when before you said that the items did nothing at all.

I'm sorry, I don't consider points involving the player's death to be things worth noting in an argument.
If it's 1v1, the extra damage DOESN'T matter.
So, rushing Infinity Edge would be better for farming and harass, as well as impromptu team fights where you died like a noob. :P
In any case, the point of the argument I was RESPONDING to was that Nameless claimed I would get killed with Infinity Edge. Rushing Phantom Dancer would not improve your chances of survival relative to Infinity Edge.
But a silver lining is, in a team fight, you'd at least do a little more damage before your defeat if you recognized it and turned around to shoot an arrow in the enemy's face.

This is the exact same reason why I build up to zeal first on Ashe. If Im having trouble getting last hits and Im getting shut down I have build to a Phantom Dancer. Tho if I am just going to town and owning everyone I let that zeal sit there and build the IE coming back to the zeal and going to a PD, or if Im REALLY blowing people away, leave that zeal and build a new PD.
At the same time tho, I rush IE on Tryn because, well, youd be dumb not to.
