It's a cross between AP and tank. But I think this is outdated. Galio is beginning to look more like a support tank in my eyes, suitable for a solo lane, so I may archive this one.

If you call this a tank build, I will criticize it accordingly, and I don't need to spend a lot of time to do so either.

Too many resistances, not enough health :P

That's all ^^

I get mp5 quints for teh early game rape. I like pushing my opponents out of my lane.

Again, this was before I learned about runes and masteries. It is due to be changed. I'm done updating my Urgot guide, so I'm turning my attention to this one and my old amumu guide next. :D

Thanks, I could've kept writing em(raps). Idk why I stopped.

But I can't afford Quints of fortitude yet, and so I'll switch out the Doran's Ring for a Meki Pendant when I get them.

Guardian Angel is cool. I do get it on occasion. Also, maybe this is just me, but why don't more galio players get Lich Bane? That's an additional 372 damage to add to your nuke late game(at least with this build).

Thornmail is a pretty nice package. Again. Early game armor. His ult is scaled off the number of hits he takes, not the damage he takes, but I'm sure you knew that. So you see how those little pokes back make a difference. I prefer items that grant synergy to the characters I choose them for. Thanks for the support you guys.

Keep the ratings comin!

As a final note, remember that your guide should reflect how you would build your champion if you had the IP. I don't have Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction, but I include it in my guide because I feel that it fits the build best. Don't worry about which runes you have and which ones you don't, just pick the ones that would work best ;)

I like it. I'm **** with Galio, but I can easily imagine this works well.

Criticism:
1. Switch Expanded Mind to Awareness, the bonus from Expanded Mind is almost nothing because it's off of BASE mana :( Awareness is also a great mastery to have.
2. Not sure if I agree with the quints, I think something like flat HP would be more helpful, as mp5 quints are kind of sub-par. Your choice on this one.
3. I don't think Thornmail should be core on any champion but Rammus. I would suggest Guardian Angel instead (more MR for your passive :D) and include Thornmail as a situational item to counter heavy squishy AD DPS. Randuin's Omen + Guardian Angel plus your runes and masteries should be enough armor to counter a balanced team, and the magic resistance from GA will give you some more AP for your abilities.

It looks like a lot of criticism, but its only 3 things. #2 is optional to change. Good work on the rest of the guide, and keep improving and expanding it whenever you think of something to add.

EDIT: I would also suggest swapping the points between Good Hands and Perseverance. 6.66% reduced death times > 2% regen. Also, the first point in Perseverance gives 2%, while each subsequent point gives only 1%.

Also, nice rap ^^

Double EDIT: Okay, I get why you picked Thornmail, you want a stronger taunt. I can understand that, but I still recommend taking it out of the core build. If you really want to keep it there though, I get now why you chose it. It's your build, and it will work either way. But seriously, GA is boss ;)

Thank you. I've been getting some serious revenge downvotes... even though I didn't downvote theirs QQ. Same thing on my urgot guide. But I appreciate you dropping in.

+rep, and I'm surprised I didn't do it earlier.

I like your build, and would use it if I played Galio regularly. That being said I definitely agree that abyssal should be core on Galio.

I have two signatures. They are randomized.

The cons are things that could give you problems. Being a "Melee" means you'll have to work on zoning to get any farm. Which is why sometimes I like Galio more than Amumu, unless I'm jungling with him.

Galio puts himself in danger to catch as many people as he can in his ult. Things like self casting Bulwark are things you should be prepared to do. Galio is a disruption tank, like Alistar and Amumu, but is less durable than them(until late game) to the point that some people would call him an off tank, which I disagree with.

I was saying I get Thornmail to not feed. It's a cost effective item for early game armor. I have it late game. I have it early game. Then it doesn't matter if he gets fed, does it? I have it anyways. You were twisting my words around. I have it whether he's fed or not, and so that he can't get kills off of me.

I made this guide when I was new to Mobafire. As I said, I'm updating things like tooltips and masteries and runes and adding in new sections. I wish you could have held off voting till then.

Our items are similar, except instead of providing a ridiculous amount of armor(340 is way too much) I actually give him some hitting power into the late game.

I'll now show you that you have an excessive amount of armor.
Here's the equation for damage reduction from armor:
Damage Multiplier = 100 / (100 + Armor) when Armor ≥ 0
You have 340 armor. 100/(440)= 0.22
So your incoming physical damage is reduced by 78%.
I have 272 armor. 100/372= 0.27.
So my incoming physical damage is reduced by 73%.
You can verify this equation here.
Your build lacks in any late game damage, for 5% Physical damage reduction.

Here's our scores on AP.
Your build has 116 AP from Runic Skin.

Mine has 271( Abyssal Mask, Lich Bane, Runic Skin ). More than double. Without sacrificing any form of durability.

So do you have any other grievances? I think my build is perfectly fine.

P.S. Sections being added: Alternative starting Items, your nuke and you, masteries, runes, proper ult utilization and positioning(screenshots), lane(screenshots), tooltips.

@ Keels

You sound mad. Why so worked up?
Who said anything about a fed Tryndamere, anyways? I never said anything about him being fed. A completely average score Trynd can auto-swing for 4 digits. I just disagree with many things your guide suggests, not on tanks in general, but for Galio I disagree with many of the items, and masteries, and even just some simple things like some of the info put into it.
Ex. by Keels "Cons
-Melee caster
-You're right in the middle of things"

Lol you're a TANK MATE! Being right in the middle of things is not a con it's the simple fact that you're a TANK. That's no con. If it was a con, thennnnnn his Ultimate just plain and simple would be a con wouldn't it? It makes you the focus, puts you in the middle of things doesn't it? So is the ultimate a con? A con is if on Veigar you're going to be in the middle of things, not Galio. If you can't handle being a melee champion, then don't call it a "con". Just get off of him and play someone who is easier. (Ranged). And name a tank that isn't a melee caster? How is that a con? Hahaha you must've made this guide when you were much less experienced than you are now, tbh.

P.S. Your signature looked better with the black "Keels" not the new version.
