but when you click on see more for that subsection, it brings you to the veteran advice page, which is the top 10 rated vet guides...I made a thread about that too, but Matt is like, dead or something T_T

I've been out of town, read the Vet forums ;) I'm back and catching up now.
Can you say one general guide is better than another based on score? Yes. As you said, some tank because they are poorly written and/or not useful. For the rest, consider it something along the lines of "likes". Even if their scores are all super high, if one gets MORE up votes its score will still be higher. So the most popular general guide will still have a higher score, and that seems fine to me.
If you feel that these guides are being listed anywhere incorrectly, and potentially misdirecting users as a result, then that's a separate issue.
