Why?
When general guides are released, as you said they give good info, so why should they NOT be featured and NOT be able to achieve high scores if they are good, informative guides?

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!
:/ I have three general guides over 80%.
The jungle general guides are fantastic.
Dotter's Guide for Beginners is phenomenal.
Mowen's FAQ should be a first port of call.
I don't see why these can't keep their scores and ratings.
If there were more filters, ie, jungling, teamwork etc etc, then the general guides could be put into categories.
Other than that (and though my opinion may be biased), I don't see the need to take away general guide scoring.
People don't come to MobaFire to read general guides, they come for champion guides. Only after they have learnt the site a bit more do they bother with general guides.

Because:
1. General guides take up space that could otherwise be occupied by champ guides and are VERY difficult to take out of the top 10 once they get there.
2. As Temzilla said, there's too little of a distinction between good and better general guides.
What good does the rating system do if you can't really compare two guides? Can you say that Mowen's is better than Searz's or vice-versa? No.

I don't think rating should be removed, mostly because otherwise it'd be difficult to sort the utter **** from the very good. Other than that, I agree.
I don't mind removing general guides from the top ten - there's no reason for them being there.
But no need to remove scores.
Votes are votes, no matter if they are "trollish" or "sheep votes".

This is my opinion.
No reason to remove score, but the scores have to be somehow seperated from champion guides.
Removing them from the top 10 would accomplish this quite well.
Tri lane for life.

What if when you click "Top Rated Guides", General guides are automatically filtered out?
No, I believe that would be putting the general guides a little too far out of the loop. If you want top rated guides for champions, you can filter it down to a specific champion. There's no reason to remove them from the all-time top rated, because they will literally get no exposure if you do.

Thus a trend I've been seeing is how easily a general guide can get to 90% and how difficult it is to make a general guide that can't at least breach 85%.
With this trend it's almost useless to compare general guides since all the really good ones are hovering around the same 2 or 3 percentage points while the ones that are bad are way lower.
Therefore I suggest that we remove the rating system from general guides, or implement a cap, or weight votes heavier, or simply remove general guides from appearing in the newest top 10 entirely.
