Annie with flash tibbers and a super early, rushed Deathcap is a scary thing..

A good Annie only flashes with Tibbers if she's sure it'll secure a kill.
That's always scary - It doesn't justify rushing Deathcap.

Damage is not the only thing that matters. Survivability, team presence, resources, enemy match-up's.

And even then, would you rush Deathcap without stacking 2~3 Doran's Rings? You'd be so squishy, it'd be like having a "Gank me" sign on your forehead.

wRAth TO SOLVE THIS ARGUMENT

what Jun said hits the nail on the head.

I always get 2 - 3 Doran's, then revolver, then deathcap on most bursty APs.

Then, you have the HP, the sustain from revo, so you are free to get deathcap with no risk; and then, you are still around 2k ahead of someone who would rush RoA.

Here's where the RoA comes in; the deathcap rush is basically what I do on most APs, except the ones that have a passive or passive-like spell that uses the RoA effectively. IE, on Grag, with that 18% reduced damage from all sources, you are in effect getting 18% more HP than what the RoA offers; which is a terrific deal. Same with Annie and your shield.

Besides that, I prefer to go the more bursty early game route, since in the current meta especially, early game basically defines your game...not always, but more often than not. (unless you have a **** late game comp, but no APs besides LEB are **** late game; even she isn't **** if fed, the issue with her is she can only really take one guy out of the fight, like Xerath; that is a very situational pick)

However, if you are having lane difficulties, and/or if you are more of a sustained damage champ like Cass, RoA may not be a bad choice.

and ofc you get it on Ryze.

tem: with your range and hourglass, no other defenses are needed unless the enemy is a ***** (situational ofc)

and no, when you have base 3 sec CD on like all ****ing spells, you don't want all or none...generally blue and masteries is all you ever could want and need, almost max anyway, and when you have no blue, you are still fine with like the 9% cdr your masteries give.

I know how CDR works.

The lower your cooldowns, the more you want CDR.

Not the other way around.

First of all, the "buy dorans then get death cap" is also called the "buy cheap and dirty RoA then get death cap".

RoA is an investment, in order for a deathcap d00d to win a lane vs RoA, he needs to get kills before it's stacked.

RoA > Deathcap in terms of raw stats with no other items, and RoA just gets better with a deathcap after it.

Second of all, 18% reduced damage is roughly 22% more health.

That, and Xerath is a single target champ?

His Q, his man nuke, is AoE and 12231023000 range, his ult which is AoE and has stupid ratios is 120391023913 range.

I fail to see how he's not a good team fight champ.

I play Xerath as a bruiser, I play a lot of champions "strangely".

I play Mordekaiser as 100% glass cannon AP because he's a very effective anti-carry. (DFG/Lich Bane/Deathcap/Will/Void Staff/CDR Boots)

If Annie with 80 AP does damage, Annie with 140 +30% AP does more damage.

I know survivability is important, and in some games I would buy the RoA, in some games I would buy 2-3 Doran's rings, etc...

But it's like the one time I was AD carrying and I based with 1750 gold.

I just bought the BF sword before I even got boots, and a few HP pots.

Come back to lane, and you can't trade with me, so I don't need to movement.

Ideally your team will be too low to even fight me if the jungler ganks.

My style is generally speaking forward if I can afford to be. I try to be as aggressive as I can without giving my team silly kills etc. (It happens, particularly in normals when I stop caring about playing well when I get fed or something)

If you're winning, the best way to keep winning is to maximize your damage output.

Yea, except for the revolver.
Revolver is only standard on some champions, most commonly those without mana(cuz sustaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain).

bro

I used to just get it on non-mana users.

Then I met Chandro.

He hooked me on this stuff and now I'm addicted.

Srs tho, it is SO GOOD ON EVERYONE; with blue, mp5 seals, and this nifty 1200 gold item (you don't even need it into a wota until later), you will never have to go b.

Buuuuuuut you're still squishy as **** and if you'd have built ROA you'd have less sustain, but some GORRAM HP with along with the solving of your mana problems.

You shouldn't ever have mana problems as an AP...blue? MP5 seals?

there ya go.

and, ultimately, the effective health gained back from revolver outdoes the roa tenfold.

In mid game team fights the RoA would be much better than the revolver, so in that respect, the revolver is a poor investment of resources.
