Hi All, first post here, from a noob currently loving this game. However...

My main issue at the moment is a complete inability to kill the bots. This is making me afraid to jump into games versus humans, as I am paranoid about my performance, or lack thereof. I just cannot kill bots! Either they escape me to the safety of their tower with almost no HP left, or I overextend and die myself while chasing them back. Any and all advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

The champs I am using most are: Annie, Kayle and Sivir.

Hahaha, reminds me of my first bot games when I was even noobier than I still am. Miss Fortune Bot, y u so scary.

Nowadays, intermediate bots have gotten a bit harder so I can kind of imagine that it's really not easy when you haven't played MOBA games before.

I think you should take a look at some of the champion guides around here and read them completely. They have a lot of information on how to use your skills most efficiently.

Also, I have the feeling that bots tend to have the luckiest escapes ever. Just don't chase them, let them run, keep farming to be a lot stronger than them next time. :D

Bots are usually easy to bait (specially dat master yi bot), meaning they'll often go for you rather than a minion kill. If you harass a lot, they'll go back a bit.

The true secret is not to "scare" a bot. They'll go to base if their hp drops to 1/3 and they have no pots. Just harass till close that value and go back. They'll return and it's an easy kill.
Thank you Tsuki for the sig!

I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU SOME TIPS ON THOSE CHARACTER!

Annie: When i played her i was getting yelled at cause i was feeding. but then i found a neat trick: When using Abilities. Always use Q or R to stun. Then atk with W and chase (not to far)

Sivir: Like my first time playing I mostly played. When using Q make sure to run around the boomerang will follow you.

Kayle: Grab Flaming sword first then grab Q.

My Stratigy but you can go on here to find better

I also played with camera lock for a long time. I didn't even know you could unlock and so I got used to it. It was the biggest pain to get use to unlocked camera. But it was worth it!
Same goes for smartcast although I'm not smartcasting on every champ.

^I literally can't play without camera lock...xD

OT: Lower them to >31% health, then burst them. Done.

As Annie: At level 6, get your stun up, walk up to them and R > Q > W > E > Ignite.

As Sivir: Auto-attacks.

As Kayle: Q > E > AA > AA > AA > W yourself when they try to run, R yourself when you're tower diving.

In a duo lane, have your partner help because a lot of times 2 people can burst down a bot even at level 1 because the bots dont back out until they're ~1/2 health.

Bf still uses it, I always laugh when he misses an obvious skillshot, coz I know he didnt have time to unlock and shoot.

When starting out I can imagine it's not easy to get kills, even from beginner bots. The reason for this is the bots have a strong tendency to withdraw if you damage them. Once you get used to it then you can take advantage of that. I sometimes attack beginner bots in a fight they would win if they stick to it, but they withdraw anyway most of the time (don't try this if there are 2 or more enemy bots present, they will cover eachother).

A second reason is you have to pick a good moment to go in and try to kill the enemy. You know the cpu bots try to run, so when you start picking them off when they're near their own turret, you won't have much time before they get in their safety zone. When they're further away from their turret it'll be easier for you. Also going in for the kill when enemy has most of his health isn't easy. Generally they stay in lane (although withdrawing but coming back without healing) until they have low health (someone said 1/3 and 31%, seems about right), so if they're at 40-50% of their health when you start your attack, it's a lot easier to pick them off than if they're at 100%.

Lastly I should add it's really helpful if you can slow/stun the fleeing enemy. If you chase them but can't get closer, you know they'll reach that turret safe and sound. Either be quicker than them or make them slow. Annie can stun with her Pyromania passive if stored for the perfect occasion. Sivir can chase faster with her Fleet of Foot passive and her ult skill On The Hunt, Kayle can use Reckoning to slow the fleeing enemy and Divine Blessing to move faster herself (alt+W = selfcast). I just tried out this week's free to play champion Udyr, and I got mad kills because his Blazing Stampede can stun an enemy champion every 6 seconds + gives temporary chasing speed. Then when they're stunned switch to Wilding Claw to do increased damage. You can also use summoner spells like Exhaust and Ghost to try and close the gap. Also there are items to make yourself faster or enemies slower, like Frozen Mallet, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Zeal (and items Zeal upgrades into) and Force of Nature. Also, if you're not doing this already, always get boots. Not more than 1, since movement speed doesn't increase by wearing more than 1 boots item. Chasing enemies without boots is usually a joke unless you have the abilities to make up for it. And if all else fails you can try coming up from behind enemy champions by either coming in from the jungle, or waiting in brush untill they walk past you.

Lastly I want to point out you don't have to kill a lot of champions to win games. If you get the enemies to withdraw a lot, it means they'll miss out on experience and gold from minions. In time they'll be underpowered and you can take them on easily. Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to constantly attack enemy champions in lane. By doing that you can really destroy your own game, since you won't get gold from minion kills, plus you can easily overextend and get killed instead. So don't just go for champions, but also learn to last hit minions for gold. I recommend to try making a custom game with just you in it (no other players or bots) and practice to get as many last hits on minions as you can. Gold from creeps is often underestimated by new players, but it's really worthwhile if you can kill enough. Players who only try to get player kills and fail at the kill end up with nothing. Players who get lots of minion kills get good money, with or without a few champion kills thrown in.

P.S. just thought of something else: when going in for the kill it's preferable to have all (or nearly all) your abilities not on cooldown. If you can dish out as many damaging abilities on the enemy in as little time as possible, you can get enemy health down a lot faster, giving them less time to flee.

P.P.S. this goes without saying, but some champions are easier to kill than others. Generally speaking mages and ad carries have low defense (at least in early game) and can be taken down fairly easy if you have a strong offense. Careful though, these are usually also the ones with more attack damage themselves, so kill them fast or be killed yourself.
