Ya, I didn't actually start trying in ranked though until after the first delay at the end of October D=
And yea, I do want to change my name, someone told me (Anna) that they will delete the names that are inactive like last season again, so if they do that I want to change it to something shorter like Vulk, Vulkan, something along the lines of my name but without the silly caps and stuff.

Vulk would be pretty cool if you can get it. It's short enough to be a name and not too specific to be just a word, but it also has an origin that's unique to you. :D

Yep, and I'm pissed at myself. But at the same time I got to improve in normals a bit, and still got to a semi-respectable rating before the season ended! =D

Tbh I think 1700 really does reflect your progress in season two. Even if you feel that you haven't reached your peak yet, that doesn't mean that your rating doesn't represent who you were this season. I think it would make a lot of sense for you to hit plat (assuming you do) this coming season and look back on your season two self as a high gold player. Scraping 1850 before the season ends would be nice for the rewards, but it wouldn't really be "verified", so to speak, until you had spent some time at that elo.
Plus there's always the moba badge to work towards. That doesn't require you to wait until the end of S3; you can get the plat badge right when you get the rating. :D

I just sat on gold all season and didn't really try to get up, and after getting trolled down (partially by my irl friend) I kinda gave up when I dropped to 1400. Then I was like meh w/e and in about 2 weeks I got up to 1700, where I am now. If I had a little more time I'd def. be able to get plat this season, but unfortunately this is impossible. If only I knew I'd be able to play ranked fairly well, I woulda played more sooner ;/
Besides the point, I want to dedicate a lot of my time to soloq season 3. One of my biggest issues last season (besides not really playing any soloq) was using my placement matches when I was still a pretty bad player. I didn't get to get high up as many people do from them.
Also, the biggest way to gain Elo besides placements is to just play a lot. The more games, the less the AFKers and ragers matter, the less big loss streaks affect you, the truer your Elo becomes.
I have 7 main goals for season 3:
1. Use my placement matches well. This is skill but also a lot of luck that I don't get dcs/trolls during my first ~20 games.
2. Spam soloq. I won't ***** out and sit on a rating like last season, I will continue to play (not on tilt) and get my rating up. Unfortunately, since I am forcing myself to dedicate time to improving in this game, I will not be able to play as much xbox and stuff as I used to (didn't buy halo 4 yet, not getting black ops tomorrow!). But hopefully the price I pay will be worth it :P

4. Stream often and become somewhat recognized. It would help to have a higher Elo to attract more stream viewers, but even people around 1700s get quite a few viewers if their stream is entertaining. Ideally, I will hit at least 2k and get at least a semi-substantial following.
5. Join a serious team. Something I've been wanting to do for a while, but I haven't really had any people that I know that I could form a legit team with, nor have I had the Elo to really get taken seriously. I think at around this Elo people would consider me for pretty serious teams (not like LAN teams mind you), so we'll see what I can do.
6. Share my experience with you guys. Mind you I won't post every single game, seeing as I might be the next Azingy with 2000 games of soloq (lolno), but I'll try to keep you guys updated, provide tips, and talk about games I found particularly interesting, and maybe upload some vods to go with it. I might also blog a bit with tips and such. My stream is linked on my moba profile =o
7. Try to provide mentoring when I have some free time. Could be simple things like answering questions, watching gameplay, but I definitely want to help people. So ya. Check out my mentoring thread in the mentoring thread place~
The journey will start tomorrow, assuming riot doesn't majorly mess up their servers (take that back -- it'll start next month when they finally fix them). So, wish me luck and we'll see what I can do.
