It actually isn't as good as it was before, the price was increased and a bunch of stats were nerfed. It was also nerfed the patch before that.

Let me tell you this: Trinity Force is "bad" at the moment because the cost is SO HIGH, for SO LITTLE, unless you... Jax or Corki - maybe Ezreal.
Black Cleaver is cheaper and thus you can snowball earlier
Iceborn Gauntlet gives more tankiness, cdr and a more reliable slow
and the weird mesh of stats just makes it bad for so many chars, as it always has done, except it's more expensive now AND it was nerfed .p
