I started duo queueing with a duo partner who's actually GOOD. Not the 1100 Elo guys I was duo'ing with simply because I needed someone to pick me Talon. Though we run the same set-up, at least it won't be me simply carrying him every game. We've played 2 games, the first was a loss, the 2nd a victory. Also, his name is Pigeon and he mains AD.
I picked Talon, he picked Graves. I went mid vs Ahri and trashed her. Bot lost and Pigeon was actually quite low on farm, not sure why. But anyway, I ganked bot and top a few times, I won us a teamfight at dragon, and suddenly our whole team was ahead of theirs. We crushed them in a team-fight and so we went to baron.
Vi was on extremely low HP, like about 2 bars, but she hung about the baron, clearly waiting to try and steal it. I could see her through a ward and could have easily jumped out and killed her, and I WAS trying to do that, but I was on extremely low HP too, and every time I tried to move towards her, the baron would leave me on dangerously low HP. I'd attack it and lifesteal from it, then again it would attack me while I was moving away and leaving me too low to try and kill Vi. If our full HP Maokai would just have moved closer to the baron so that it would only focus him, I would have killed Vi, we would have had the baron, and we would have ended the game there and then. Instead, I wasn't able to keep my HP high enough to risk jumping through the wall to kill Vi, and so she eventually jumped through and smited it. I killed her straight away, but the entire enemy team was alive, and they all had the baron buff.
After that we just waited the baron buff out, and we eventually got in a team-fight once it was gone. We won it with 3 of them dead and only 2 of us dead, but it was close, we were all low. In the next team-fight they had 2 GA's, while we only had a GA on Graves, because mine had been used up in the last team-fight. In that team-fight, we lost, and didn't even take down any GA's. In the team-fight after that, we took down all their GAs, but they aced us, and pushed to the win as Irelia and Ezreal ( the 2 that had the GA's ) were the last enemy's alive. Leona respawned right at the end but she couldn't even reach them before the game ended. We should have won, but solo Q doesn't let you communicate as well you as could. Like I said, all Maokai needed to do was move closer to the baron so I would stop getting focused by it, and the entire game's out-come would have changed, sigh.
This game, again, I picked Talon, and Pigeon picked Vayne. This time Pigeon did a lot better in-lane, and I did equally as well as I'd done in the last game, though their LeBlanc was a lot better than the ahri I'd played against in the last game. A Lee gank at level 1 forced my flash, and while all he did was get the damage from his Q on me, with no E or auto-attacks, it was still free damage, and I had to recall at level 4 because LeBlanc was playing really well and pressuring me with auto-attacks + spells. When I got back the lane was still hard-ish, but I killed LeBlanc as soon as I hit level 6, as I'd been extremely careful not to get hit by her own level 6 burst while I was still level 5. I ganked top and got a kill there, recalled and went back mid, I was able to burst down LeBlanc a second time, and then I got another kill on their Jax because he chased Singed all the way to our blue buff. Singed died because he was about 20 HP when he reached it and Jax's jump came off of cooldown, but as soon as he jumped onto Singed, I jumped onto him for a free kill, because he was only about 200 HP himself.
I commented to Pigeon how I had the same score as I'd had last game at one point, 10/3. :D This time however, he was also doing very well, as he had been 5/0 at one point. Singed also won top, he didn't seem to have any troubles vs Jax after that time where I killed him. Now, when I check items Jax built, I can see why. But good on Singed anyway. :P So we crushed the enemy team in team-fights, and they eventually surrendered.

Played 2 more games with Pigeon, both went really badly for me.

I burst Nidalee with an Ignite at level 5, and even with her heal + HP pot, it was clear to me she was going to die, so I walked away and started recalling to get my Brutalizer and dominate her further once I hit 6 and got my full burst. So I waited for her to get a last hit so I could E and burst her, but instead of doing that, she transformed to cougar, flashed, leaped, and she ended up right in front of me when a second ago she'd been apparently about to get a last-hit. She hit me with Q + E, and Ignited me. I tried to burst her, and if I had bursted her straight away she would have died with me, but I couldn't react in time because my mouse was aimed at where she'd been about to get a last-hit, I couldn't shift it over towards her so quickly because it had been so unexpected.
I tried to gank bot, but they had the tri-brush warded and I couldn't reach Nunu or Ez. Fkin bloodboil. I warned top that Nidalee had gone ss and was probably ganking it, which Elise ignored, and she got ganked from behind by Nidalee. She could have easily escaped though... She ran into the brush and flew up into the air, and Nidalee ran towards where she'd jumped up instead of the minion she could easily jump to to escape through. So I thought "lucky Elise". Instead though, she jumped on the 50% HP Kennen, while she was 50% HP herself, attacked him with Ignite and all, and died to Nidalee + Kennen. Dat suicide, she had no chance of killing Kennen.
I ganked top to try and pick up the kill on Kennen to get her an assist, and I killed him but died to Nidalee. Elise's reaction was "LOL gj, feed him even more. You can have top now". So she went mid and left me top vs the 5/1/1 Kennen, and suicided some more to Nidalee. Among all this suiciding I just didn't know what on earth I could possibly do to win the game, because bot wasn't exactly getting fed, though they weren't losing either. And Kennen had been rushing a Rylai's, so he was too tanky for me to kill. Eventually they baroned, and just pushed for the win.
This game went badly for me again, but for a different reason.
In champ select, our 2nd pick locked in Evelynn while she had smite. So when it was my turn to pick, as I was 4th pick, I picked Talon. Once I'd locked in, I realized she'd switched her Smite to Ignite, and Shen + Evelynn started flaming me, saying I was a troll, and that they would report me after the game, etc. Pigeon defended me saying he thought Evelynn was going to jungle too but they just ignored him. At the last second Shen switched his Ignite to smite, and he jungled, so I had to go top vs Pantheon. Fml. I asked Shen for ganks because Pantheon is like the hardest counter to Talon there is, but as usual, he didn't gank a single time, whereas Rengar ganked me 2 or 3 times in total. At least he wasn't camping though.
I was able to keep up in farm with Pantheon, but every time I got him low to the point where I could burst him down I'd run out of mana, whereas his spears hit every time, and cost less mana, so he killed me 3 times during the laning phase, including during Rengar ganks.
Evelynn kept suiciding to Cho, and during team-fights she kept trying to run past their entire team to get to Ez even though he was so far back he could barely be considered to be part of the fight yet, and their team kept killing her before she reached them. Eventually I told her to just burst Pantheon so she'd get a massive shield from her ultimate, and I'd take care of Ez, and she started doing a little bit better, thank god. Pigeon was also farming extremely well, and his damage was carrying us. But Sona was building pure AP, and even though she had an Athene's she kept asking Shen for our blues, and even stole a blue I was taking from the enemy team from me.
Eventually we saw Rengar bot and so we baroned, then killed 2 of them while one of us died. We pushed mid, got the inhibitor down, then pushed top and got those towers + inhibitor down too, and from there they just couldn't do anything to win because they had to spend so much time defending.

Vlad has 0 CC to stop her and can't trade with her burst; if he wants to escape it he has to slowly kill himself with pool. =o

Also remember that when a ward dies you still have 2 more to place down; plus it forever refreshes, and you aren't restricted to just having those wards being used (can still buy some ofc)
