I don't see what the big deal is to be honest.
Mobafire was given permission by Twitch TV to embed the stream on their website. It means that it is okay for Mobafire staff to decide where this stream is put. The stream was put circa half way down the page. Perhaps the Mobafire staff decided this was the best place to put the stream from a design point of view. They are also the ones who decide how the embedding works. Auto-play, and auto-mute.
And quite frankly, if it was not on auto-mute, it would annoy the bonkers out of me.

Mobafire is entitled to embed the stream in this fashion in order to get more viewers for their stream and website in general.

I do have to agree on one thing though; It probably could not have hurt so bad to put the stream up higher on the main page.

Oh aren't you just so cute with your attempts to condescend to me. It's exactly what I expect from such a long time member of this site, and your maturity level is truly impressive.

Considering what a horrible reputation Mobafire already has with the league community, I cannot imagine how you thought manipulating viewer counts through your embedded stream was a good idea.

Are you mental?

The lack of truth is part of the problem here. The credibility of Mobafire is already questionable, and the continued lies and half-truths only make it worse. I cannot understand why you guys are ****ing around here instead of apologizing to those who found this offensive and simply turning off the auto-play on the stream.

Your tone seems condescending as well. Don't be a hypocrite.

Back on topic, I don't see why there are so many complaints. If twitch was fine with it, how is it anyone's place to place judgement on how "shady" and "deceptive" the site is?

Let's say the mods intentionally placed the stream in a tiny little pixel on the side. If twitch said it was fine, why the hell are people complaining about it.

Is this some argument about "morals" "lying" or "deceit" now?

This whole ******** problem exists because people overreact to "injustice" and because they feel like they're the ****ing police.

MOBAFire's view count has not negatively impacted any person's enjoyment of streams unless they feel that "oh this site is getting more views than my favorite streamers site qqqqq its taking up one more box on my screen" which is OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WORTH COMPLAINING ABOUT.

And now we're getting random accusations because of a ****ty reputation? I bet if we were ****ing solomid or lolpro we wouldn't even be having this ****. Because we have a bad reputation for guides we're SURELY to be willing to cheat anyone, right?

Taking one step back.

Let's say this problem does exist. There are two possibilities.
1) MOBAFire knew of this and did it intentionally.

2) MOBAFire was not aware of this and this was purely accidental.

In scenario 1, MOBAFire would then be known to cheat the system. However, since twitch allows it, there would be no punishments for it, and the only consequence is that MOBAFire's reputation goes down.

In scenario 2, MOBAFire would be clean. They would try their best to fix the problems asap and apologize for the "improper behavior" although there wasn't really even any, since twitch allowed it.

In a more LOGICAL environment, one would not simply place judgements on the matter but rather raise suspicions and have doubts in one's head.

The only concern that should be raised is MOBAFire's reputation.

There pretty much is no evidence that MOBAFire intentionally committed the act. Nothing that can prove it is public.

Don't give me some ******** saying "a muted stream is evidence" or "a small screen is evidence"

That's not evidence. that's a fact that one can base his opinion on.

And anyways, who the **** would put a stream super big on a GUIDE SITE?

So why the hell are we getting so much ****ing hate for something that's LEGAL???

Oh wait, maybe I should raise pitchforks against the IQ of the reddit community now?

That would be wonderful. I could watch some more drama.

Ads, which generate revenue for the mobafire site.
Which is why SivHD was attacking the mobafire stream in the place(although i think its annoying how Siv thinks were spewing lies and not selling the truth).

this is what reddit thinks of this statement.

Well basically there are also Ads playing on most streams which generate money for the twitch channel. We are being accused of cheating money from twitch with our view count.

Really, all MOBAFire has to do is make the stream the first thing people see when they load up the page without having to scroll down. That way, there's no possibility of controversy. Regarding the stream, it can stay muted so it's not a nuisance but just allow it so people can immediately make the choice to stop or allow it to continue.

When I saw Smitefire's stream start up, I started to notice most of the viewers weren't from twitch.tv but from the website itself. I was really skeptical about it and so was the Smite subreddit when I went by to see what was going on. When I saw MOBAFire tv start trending the top of League, I knew this outlash was inevitable just because people would come to check out the channel and see the dead chat but large amount of viewers. From what I can tell, the logical people only have problems that you have to scroll down to view the auto-played stream. Again, they'll be happy if you just move the auto play stream to the top of the page.

The other dumbasses like SivHD that thought a stat tracker was a view bot and a auto play script was a script for multiple 1x1px streams literally have 0 credibility in this discussion and are just talking out of their ***es. People like this are the kids that think they know about computers when they know ****. Just ignore them.

Just reading some of the comments in that Reddit thread. wtf is Siv talking about. I can't believe he didn't know Matt and Flash were the administrators. The sad thing is, no one will realise the stupidity of that first post.

Its also a really dishonest letter, let's just wait for further REAL statements from the people who are actually holding the ropes in this situation, not this desperate ********-attempt at retribution.

How idiotic can you get. Thank god it's forever immortalised as a first post. Last thing. I really like how he has the tenacity to call out MobaFire publicly via Reddit and Facebook, but hasn't got the guts to come and discuss it here. wtf? Start a lawsuit against him for defamation of character.

Whilst I'm guessing it was an accident this should be a lesson for the future; don't set your stream to autoplay and automute whilst tucking it away so it doesn't "obstruct" the site. The intentions on the latter were good but it was destined to cause controversy.

Maybe we should discuss it with him instead, one on one. Let Matt, Mowen or FlashJ talk to the guy and fix this problem for once and for all.

Saying that SivHD is an idiot while not doing anything about it, ain't helping anyone.
Change is gooooood
