You know people often mention or give alternatives so that they don't get downvoted because somehow their options didn't tickle the fancy of voters, or because those are stuff they use less often. For example, Xiauwiriamu is currently Diamond V and plays Poppy support with Heal and Barrier mostly. He uses them to create specific situations mentioned in the guide, albeit also speaking of Ignite and Flash. However, I'm pretty sure he's been thought of as a troll or idiot.

The high elo public here is stubbornly unforgiving. I've actually seen happen (and suffered from it) situations where two high elo players decided between themselves two alternative paths for a champ in terms of building and simply would not budge in terms of voting. **** the author.

I don't mean people should always upvote at all, but getting one's head out of one's *** and trying to get the author's reasoning, questioning him and actually considering[/] what he says (and I don't mean just considering his points so you can counter-argument ad nauseam) makes one a more responsible voter/scout.

So wait a second, you hate... that I go in depth on how to play Nasus? Ok, but I really think new players and fans of Nasus appreciate it. So I'll disagree in that less is not more. I've also explained this guide in near perfect English. I'm not sure why you're hating on my writing.

He does not hate the details or the in-depth look for Nasus. He hates the poor grammatical sentence structure, and your rambling. It's his perception that a guide should be a text book, and not just someone randomly talking about their favorite champ. I have breezed through your guide, and he is absolutely correct. Your grammar and sentence structure is brutal. It's really tough to read.

You have incredible information in there, but I am having to reread the paragraphs several times to get anything from it. This is what he is referring too. I would give you a negatives scout for it as well. I am positive that if Jhoijhoi is helping you that she will quickly note the issues and help you explain things in a more clear and concise manner.

The FH purchase is explained shortly in items, and also understood from my explanation about how much armor should be purchased. Additionally, I could add that it's too much gold into mana purchases, and will leave you even more susceptible to AP burst, but that's almost a given. Another cool thing about Zeke's is how much range is on the aura compared to FH. tl;dr - Zeke's is the balanced build, FH is the AD build.

Does this help?

My apologies to everyone for somehow making this thread about me defending my guide but this is the first chance I've had to do so.

Again talk with Jhoijhoi, I couldn't find this part because your sentences weave poorly. She is training to be an English teacher, and should have no problem helping you find a way to use better sentence structure.

D doesn't hate your guide. He hates the rambling way of writing.

I agree, but, at the same time, the author also needs to realize that some people will disagree and not act like it's a personal attack when they do. Which seems to be really common lately.

She's right though. All of the drama surrounding these ****ing Nasus guide was started by me doing a simple review, which led to a back and forth between me and jhoi. Things blew out of proportion and now we have eleven thousand threads about the Scouting System that all just actually lead by back to conversations about these ****ing Nasus guides, even when me and Jhoi aren't bringing it up anymore. >.>

Things get personal on Mobafire all the time and thats usually how these massive threads start.

Which.........leads to a question I already asked: If a high elo person writes a guide that many scouts consider sub-optimal, how is it reasonable that that guide would then remain featured until which point it was +scouted, no matter how bad it is?

It'd be nice if someone actually answered this btw

Nameless, that is a flaw in the featured system.
You could have TehAsian with an AP Vayne build and it'd be automatically marked as a featured, high elo guide, sitting at the top, that won't fall.
I'm pretty sure Mowen told me the dev team were reworking it, but she never gave me an estimated time.

A lot of things wrong with the featured guide system too.
New megathread, anyone?

Of course, but I always assume people are reasonable when I shouldn't. Never meant to imply guide writers are 100% right and voters wrong or vice-versa, but I think that scouts, as voters, should try to be more responsible for what they say when they vote.
Thank you Tsuki for the sig!

There are only a couple things I'd like to rearrange at some point but other than that I'm not seeing these "brutal" problems. Care to give an example?

Open Question: Does everyone else feel the same way? Do you see my guide as pointless rambling? Feel free to PM me.

If it's really that big of a problem I'm not against archiving/deleting it. I certainly can't rewrite it.

Oh god this thread has gotten even worse.

Okay, has anyone ever heard of a catch-22? We don't utilize the scouting system because it works poorly, but the devs won't improve it if no one uses it. Someone has to shoot first without a special edition edit and seeing as how they have ELOphant I doubt it will be devs. Just as everyone has their opinions on which guides should be scouted, not scouted, or downscouted, everyone has their own opinions on how a scout system (and every other aspect of the site) should work.

Everyone's energy would be better spent on actually scouting guides or providing feedback for authors (which is to say that there are more champions with guides besides nasus...) and making scouting look active. The sad reality is that in a real world situation, if a job gives you a ****ty non functional tool, you don't not work until someone makes you a better tool, you use the ****py tool until some dev can be ***ed to improve it. And when that time comes, they ask the users about how they use it and such. (Yes I realize scouting is not an 8-5 job but if you want to know why the system sucks, it's cause it's not active so it's not seen as a priority.)

By drawing all of this **** to general, we are basically advertising to non scouts that scouting and guides are all about *********** drama. Which, currently, is actually true.
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.
