Try running the 1/7 taunt minion (Mogu'shan Warden) and Inner fire (priest card that makes a minions attack become equal to its health) too. Pretty fun stuff.
I need to try that!
So far with my paladin deck I've done something similar (well not really gameplay wise):
Turn 1: play Shield bearer( taunt, 0/4)
Turn 2: Coin>Blessing of might (+3 attack) & the divine shield thing...
3/4 taunt with divine shield at turn 2 8)
About the lightspawn thing, it may be unreliable but it's a fun gimmick I like to use :)
I also REALLY like using the auchenai soulpriest (or whatever shes called) + circle of healing \o/

GrandmasterD-I'm not that great at Hearthstone, but I will try to help. First off what kind of deck are you trying to make? Do you want to make it a pure rush down deck or with some mid/late game fall back?

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Argent commander might be better for your deck than elite tauren chieftain (and maybe even Jaraxxus, Murlocs shine early game). Also, murlocs themselves dont have that high HP as individuals. The abomination might work more against your favor than the other way around. If you want a midgame taunt, I'd take sunwalkers or senjin shieldmastahs instead.

I personally dislike Senjin but they might be worth it instead of Abomination. Point of abomination is to retain board control which is good for when you want to play Jaraxxus. Sunwalker is even more expensive to play and doesn't necessarily hold board control. Abomination can keep your opponent's board control on the low side even if they play The Black Knight.
Jaraxxus is essentially the only late-game power you need as long as you can retain board control. Mostly due to his hero power.
The Chieftain is sort of goofy but I do like him. 1 in 3 chance you get "I am Murloc" (combine that with tidecaller or Old Murk Eye) and the other power chords are solid enough.

Generally it's rush. Jaraxxus is the late-game card.

The problems with that card are that the enemy gets the benefit as well and that the cards gain can be completely unreliable (eg. Power of the horde => Enemy gets Cairne while you get cruel taskmaster or something). I agree that it is still a really cool card and that the murloc synergy can be great, but since the chance of success is not that great, I don't think Elite Tauren Chieftain is a good idea. If you want to jump up ranks at least :p

So far I really haven't gotten anything really bad out of the ETC though, but as said he's kind of goofy. Overall not an incredibly bad play as it's still a 5/5.

GrandmasterD-Here is my variation of that deck. I've removed some of the late game cards in favor of even stronger early game. I think that Knife Jugglers are just too good in Murlock Warlock decks, because generally you'll be flooding the board with murlock leading to 2-4 procs of Juggler each turn which help rushing down your opponent or getting rid of his taunts. I've added 1 Doomguard ,because more times then not you'll have an empty hand or at least expendable cards and a 5/7 with charge for 5 is simply amazing at dealing with taunts or finish off your enemy.
I've also considered dropping Jaraxxus, Voidwalkers for something more rush focused and perhaps swapping Syphon Souls for 2 Drain Life, since they can be used for both removal and direct damage.

I got to rank 13 running a Lightspawn Priest deck a while ago lol :3. Lightspawn survives a turn -> powerword shield -> divine blessing -> divine blessing -> 32 attack to the face, win.
One reason to never let them live.
