Not only is this uninspired, it's pretty ****ing stupid. It's like you took Taric's gem persona and ran with it. Taric liking gems will likely continue in his eventual rework, but I'm pretty sure Riot is keen to lesson it as a gameplay element. They want him to be more of a paladin. Not this "fabulous" thing you've created.

Buddha that's just what Tarics ultimate does now, minus the toggle.
I'm not even sure if it's minus the toggle either but I cant be bothered checking how much mana you'd need for it to outlast the old one.

Basically MOBAFire.

Perhaps you misinterpreted what I said. I wrote a paragraph on counterplay and times to engage.

Quoted:

~A lesson in champion design~
In every champion that is designed, there needs to be a way to play against them. Whether it is knowing the enemy's cooldown and using that as the opportunity to strike, or simply just dodging skillshots, there needs to be a way to skilfully outmaneuver your opponent. The ultimate just completely throws all that out the window. First of all, it's a toggle ability. He can keep it for as long as he wants to as long as he has mana to use it. This means there is no clear opportunity to fight because he can use the buff on demand whenever he wants to. There's no way to deal with it. The other issue is the damage portion. The only way to deal with the damage portion is to not be near him. Running from someone is not counterplay. It's a sign that you have a badly designed champion.

And the argument that 'that's what the ability currently does' is a bad one at that, because the whole point of the rework is to fix what isn't functional.

EDIT: Sorry for how blunt it came out, I was in a rush.

What I mean is that Taric is in a really bad spot right now. His kit lacks interaction, and is simply just a mess right now. That includes the ultimate. The main purpose of a rework is to fix what is wrong with the champion, so saying that, "The ultimate is doing what the already dysfunctional ultimate does," is pretty much clear that there are issues with the kit.

And like lugignaf helped reiterate, he made a broken (dysfunctional) ability even more broken by giving it no downtime.

Taric's ultimate is actually really strong in that it gives a lot of free stats. It's just really underwhelming. All the reasons they reworked Sona for applies to Radiance.

Basically, "There's no good time to engage on Taric's team because the ult buff has a possible 0 downtime unless he's out of mana."

It's a broken kit with broken numbers, and no amount of number changing will fix it.

All I read was the line where you said it gave 13000 gold of free stats.
Having read the entire paragraph it does make sense now.

Basically MOBAFire.

Just you're a mod doesn't mean you have to undersell it. It's friggin' ******ed.

The problem with Taric is, Braum basically does what Taric should have been doing all the time, leaving for Taric nearly no room in the league at all.

Yea, Braum is a defender/martyr type champion. Taric is an aura bot. He is more akin to Sona than Braum. Taric needs his own identity and Riot plans on giving him one sooner or later, so you're better off waiting for that.

Despite I agree with what Luigi and Jimmy have said about "Normal Skills vs Ultimate Skills", Riot seems to like that idea and there are examples of it, the ones that come to mind right now are Yasuo Wind Wall and Braum Unbreakable.

Those are normal abilities that make ultimate abilities trivial, much more in the case of Yasuo since Braum will take damage and CC from them.

The difference between this new heal and Wind Wall/ Unbreakable is that you actually have to have reaction speed to block the skill. Otherwise it just goes completely through.

The new heal doesn't matter if your ally gets hit by a CC, you just remove it. There's no prediction needed. You just see a CC happen and get rid of it. It's very hard to bait it out since if they use a "not important" CC, like a random Cocoon that hits someone far away, you can just choose not to use it. You just remove the CC in important situations like if someone gets Infinite Duress-ed.
