Noah The Gnarly Narwal

I think I'm getting fat... I looked down this morning while licking the chocolate milk I spilled on my shirt after eating my choco frosted sugar puffs and noticed I couldn't see my feet anymore... Maybe that's why I have no friends except for my best girl Jill. Or maybe its because it takes me 30 minutes to eat a bagel.. Well food for thought at least. I wish I could hang out with Jill this weekend but my mom has grounded me for 2 weeks because last Tuesday I was playing in a park when on my way home some men in a dark van pulled over next to me and told me they'd drive me home. Even though I told them my house was just across the street they still wanted to drive me! they were silly... anyway's my mom ran out of the house and the men drove off in a hurry! I guess they didn't wanna be friends anymore... seems to be the story of my life.... :/ why does my mom always ruin my chances of making friends! I hate my life... Why is kindergarten so hard???

Anyway if I haven't killed myself ye…

Why I'm Letting You Lose

So in my recent travels through solo queue I've encountered a number of those who, I've felt, need an explanation of why the jungler isn't helping them. I know you see this kind of thing all the time, but please humor me on my little rant here.
So why am I letting you lose?
Well to be honest typically if I'm not helping you win lane by holding your hand like the child you probably are it means that I have other things to worry about. First and foremost is: I have myself to worry about. I've found out pretty quickly that it's extremely easy to get behind in the new jungle, a few poorly timed ganks that do nothing but waste my time, and a few trips back to the shop after nearly dying to the damned birds for the 50th time in a row and I'm 4 levels behind their jungler. Why? Because I forgot I had to be selfish here. Now I literally can't gank your lane because I'll probably get one shot if I try, and I'm just about to flip out because of the constant barrage of pings I'm getting while tak…

Mid Lane Options

Trying some mid lane champions to see what feels like a good mix. Here are some of my thoughts
  • Azir - Good range champion. He has some good mobility and utility. I can farm safely, use the soldiers to check bushes. I must remember that ranking up the soldiers does not improve the damage so do it last. The 'E' has a pretty good, but short shield. Cooldown adds to attack speed so Morellonomicon is a good item. If Im up against something burst or AD like I should go for an hourglass early.
  • Gragas - I played this champ alot and feel comfortable with him. The sustain he has is handy and he can do some serious damage. His ultimate can sometimes make team fights worse. A bit risky.
  • Karma - Another good range champ. I love the area effect farming. Speed boost and slows make escapes a bit easier. She does good damage and is helpful in team fights. I need to not spam my spells though and run out of mana. Also not get caught out alone.
  • Malzahar - Seems like a good champ, need to build him tanky

Making lots of unconventional or normal builds

Hey if anyone actually reads this check out my jungle tf build it is decent for a first attempt. This is just to let "everyone"(all of my 0 fans 😃) know that I'm starting to make more builds, normal and unconventional, for example next on my list is AP alistar mid, an extremely fun but surprisingly difficult champ to play
Anyway hope you guys are excited for the next one and liked my first build and I'll talk to you guys in the future 😃

Best Supports for Kalista?

Through MUCH (And I mean A LOT) of trial and Error. I think I found some of the best supports that go well w/Kalista. Since before Kalista even came out, I've been reading up on her. A pure ADC? Who can toss people and share Gold without a Relic Shield? People who read her, who bought her, have almost ALWAYS had a Leona with them. But I like to experiment.

Buddy of mine got her, and the very 1st Support I did? Nami. Needless to say that idea didn't work out very well. So, we went down the list. The best choices I've found? Alister, Braum, Volibear (I know, he's not a support but he has a nice slow), Maokai, and Leona. Granted I don't have ALL the Supports, but I have a majority and I've played w/other possible Champs who can fill the role. All the Supports I picked? Tanks.

The really good ones have a sustain in lane. Be it Life Steal, HP Regen, or Spell Vamp naturally built into them. ('Cept Leona and Braum, they're just REALLY good.) This is even before you buy any items for them. W…

A free ticket with Darius

I've been playing Darius top a whole lot to get back into top lane and it has been going pretty well. It seems like in most lanes he has a nice advantage since he deals mixed damage and can capitalize on mistakes pretty well. With Tiamat he is able to clear waves pretty well and with Black cleaver he gets a large chunk of armor ignored. He lacks a real escape and his team fights are a bit odd but Darius is a pretty easy-to-play champ.

So three favorable match-ups that I've had?

Wukong

Wukong has to be one of the champs which gets the lower end of the stick on this lane every single time. He has a strong engage and can poke you down but . If he does his Nimbus Strike (E) into a Decoy (W) then Darius can simply spin to gain vision of him and land a successful pull. Wukong really can't trade too well against Darius and he can get zoned if Darius places himself between the farm and Wu.

Garen

I've read a few forums that say if Garen is played well this can turn into a skill match-up but…

The Road Not Taken

Quoted:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
- Robert Frost

"So what position do you want to play?" TeamSushi asked. "You can be Top, Mid or Jungle."
"I will need to think about it." I said. I mostly said that because I didn't want to think about it, but I knew I had to. To bad "Fill" isn't a lane. This choice is the promise, the commitment to preparing yourself for the battle. You pick that lane and promise your team you will not lose it, you will work that lane until you can help out in the team fights and push objectives to the win.
  • MID would be my first choice since it is my most comfortable lane. I play mages mostly. Something I like about AP based champions, the utility, the mobility.
  • TOP would be my second choice. I have been practicing it lately. Its a tough lane, an island, on your own for the most part. Boring to some. If you need help from your jungler it takes away from the help your bot late needs to scale faster and carry the team.

Thoughts on ELO Climbing

Now I've been in Gold for about a year now and for the last year I realise that the most assured method to win your games is to simply carry your games regardless of what roles you play except of Support of course, but back in year 2012 I went up to Gold 5 and back to Silver 5 just to prove my point and ultimately as much as it disgust me, and I cannot deny that climbing takes a little bit of luck, but I'm not talking about an AFK or a Troll or an Unskilled player, I'm looking at it as an overall team fight perspective, because most of the time We do not win our games simply because of poor conquest in objectives or map control and that's when I realise that by simply saying "Carry your team" is very shallow-minded. LoL is clearly more than just that.

I started out in Bronze 5 last year 2013 Season 4, my first game was with a Vi in the Jungle, I can remember it was a win game because I won like 10~20 games in a row and my match history for the entire week was just filled with wins. Bu…

Don't be a Walter

I enjoy playing League. I have been playing since season 2 and have seen the community at its worst and best. I think RIOT has been doing alot to keep the competitive and the casual players entertained through the expanded game modes and holiday/event modes.

I have been playing ARAMs and Dominion almost exclusively since mid way through season 3. I just found it more relaxing not having super raging players pick apart every mistake. Yes its good to get constructive criticism, but if you have played any kind of ranked and normal games you know the kind of raging I am talking about.

That said I will play normal and ranked with friends that I trust and respect. It made me a bit leary to get the invite to this competition but I have played a few games with the Team Sushi brothers and I respect their play and criticism. My advice to anyone playing league, and to myself included is to not be a Walter! What does that mean? Read this dialogue from one of the best movies of all time, "The Big…
