Well...since you know who I am lets talk about the guide. Welcome to my River Shen Guide. A Guide dedicated to the role "River Shen" I guess. Now you might be wondering. What is River Shen? Well, River Shen is a I guess "meme" role in league. Where pretty much Shen goes into the River and hides in the pixel bush and ganks all of his lanes. Similar to a jungler.

What does he do?

Well pretty much just hiding in a bush and getting the Scuttle crab and making your ally lanes get ahead of the enemy. It's pretty boring and somehow fun as well.

Do you wanna know how to play River Shen?

No....

Alrighty then, lets begin.

First off River Shen is not a jungler. Sort of. He does not take Smite. He takes the summoner spells Exhaust and Ignite. He sits in the "Pixel Bush" which are located in River.

So get all those spells and go straight ahead to the river and get the Scuttle Crab and just wait...for a opportunity to gank...wait,wait,wait,wait,and wait.

These are the best runes for River Shen.

Lets talk about his Primary Rune

Flee Footwork

Flee Footwork : When fully item Energized, your next basic attack Heal power heals you for 3 − 60 (based on level) (+ 30% bonus AD) (+ 30% AP) and grants Movement speed icon 20% bonus movement speed for 1 second. On Ranged role ranged champions, the healing is only 20% effective versus Minion icon minions. Now you won't die.

heals you, gives you armor penetration, just makes a higher chance of you winning a fight.

Gives you cooldown reduction at level 10 and ability power.

I mean the name really says it. You gain extra movement speed when running in water. Mainly the river and no you won't be able to walk your way through Nami's wave. Sorry 😑

What I think -- well its sort of boring and same time fun. Its just really messing around. Just making the enemy think like what is going on. Don't do this in ranked. Its just a fun thing to do in normals.

Passive Ki Barrier - After casting a spell, Shen gets a shield. Affecting other champions reduces the cooldown of this effect.


Q Ability Twilight Assault - Shen recalls his spirit blade to attack with it, dealing damage based on the target's max health. The attacks are greatly empowered if it collides with an enemy champion, and all collided enemies are slowed while running away from Shen.

W Ability Spirit's Refuge - Attacks that would hit Shen or his allies near his spirit blade are blocked.



E Ability Shadow Dash - Shen dashes in a direction, taunting enemies in his path.



Ultimate Ability Stand United - Shen shields target allied champion from incoming damage, and soon after teleports to their location.


I want to use this section to talk about his 3 abilities which new shen players struggle to know about.

First of his W does not inflict damage to enemy only blocks their attack. It is also not placed by Shen. It is placed by his Spirit Blade which does not move with you and only stands at a place. You have to use your Q After when you have your Q then you can use your W all though you can activate W without calling your sword but that won't do anything.

Shen's Ultimate can be a bit hard to understand R This is similar to the summoner spell . However with some tweaks. You cannot cast this ability on a teleport-able object like a ward(team). It can only be placed on a ally champion. Shen channels for 3 seconds(Can be interrupted) and shields the ally that he is going to teleport to. You will spawn where you ally is currently at. If they move to a different location so will you. Don't waste this ability to get to other side of the map. It has a long cool down and can be used to turn a teamfight around. It shields on your ally. So they can live a little longer and you can taunt them when you teleport to them using your E. So use it carefully.

Well -- There are no Pros N Cons. I seriously didn't want to make a this a some sort of Main role for someone. This is just a fun little guide with a fun little gameplay. However you can still learn Shen from this guide. Do not use the runes for a actual Shen top lane or support.
