Guardian VS Aftershock
Typically you will actually want to try and take Glacial in most cases, however, if there are people that will be diving your ADC then Guardian will be more effective overall. The only situation when you should take Aftershock is in the event that you are in a very volatile lane. If you will be fighting a lot then in risky all-ins then Aftershock will be necessary to keep you alive while gaining a lead. Aftershock is also the safest option for people that are new to Thresh to learn his best windows for engaging fights, finding picks, and practicing combos.
