Akshan The Rogue Sentinel Weaknesses Vulnerable to CC, no real utility other than revive What rune-page? Fleet footwork What starting item? Doran's shield usually Akshan is a very good counter to Kassadin, because he can poke him down as early as level one, and Kassadin doesn't have much he can do about it. Most of the time, your best bet against his is to try and go for hyperscaling items, like Rod of Ages and Rabadon's Deathcap. It is hard to itemize against him, but Frozen Heart is usually a good pick. It's very hard to fight him, as he can just E away if you ever try to ult in. As long as you farm consistently and don't get poked too much you can still win the game. Whenever you fight him keep in mind his passive shield, you shouldn't really try to kill him without ganks.

Azir The Emperor of The Sands Weaknesses Vulnerable to CC, generally hard to play What rune-page? Fleet footwork What starting item? Doran's shield or Dark Seal Azir is a strange matchup for Kassadin for multiple reasons. First, Azir is really good at poking opponents down, but he is also very mana-hungry, especially in the early game. Secondly, Kassadin is very slippery when playing against Azir. The only form of CC Azir has to offer is his ultimate, but as Kassadin, it is very easy to escape from it by using your ultimate. You should try to get farm, even if it costs you some HP, as Azir will run out of mana pretty quickly if he tries to poke you. Don't give him kills and you will easily out-scale. Buy a Refillable Potion early in the game if you are having trouble. |

Rod of Ages is an excellent item for scaling into the late game. The extra stats it provides and the free level you get will allow you to dominate the late game with ease. The mana and health regeneration will allow you to stay in fights for way longer. Luden's Tempest is a fine, but risky item. The purpose of this item is to burst down targets easily, which is not necessarily Kassadin's playstyle. If you are the only person with burst damage and no one can really kill you in the game (or you are very fed) this item can be good. The added Movement speed and Magic Penetration will allow you to shut down carries with ease. Synergizes: Archangel's Staff / Lich Bane / ShadowflameGood against: Assassins, ADCs, Burst mages |

Crown of the shattered queen is an excellent option for when you need to play defensively or when you need to survive a burst. The Safeguard it provides will allow you to survive the initial burst of any target, even the most fed assassins. The added AP from the shield can help you shutdown targets when your team is in need of burst. Synergizes: Archangel's Staff / Frozen Heart / ShadowflameGood against: Assassins, ADCs, Burst mages |

Everfrost is a solid option when your team is in need of CC, or when you need to CC to secure picks more easily. The root it provides is invaluable to Kassadin, as it's the only way he can lock down someone by himself. Archangel's Staff is the bread-and-butter item for any mana-hungry mage. This item provides a ton of mana, while also giving you a huge shield when you are low on health, which is especially great on Kassadin. This item allows you to stay in fights for a very long time. Zhonya's Hourglass is te perfect item for any defensive needs when it comes to mage items. If you ever need to escape burst, CC, skill shots, or anything really, this item is perfect. It is also good for waiting out your R cooldown to turn the fight around. Synergizes: Lich Bane / Archangel's Staff / Frozen HeartGood against: Any target, as the status effect is really versatile. |
