Lucian is a highly mobile and versatile AD carry, known for his strong early game and ability to outplay opponents. Whether you're new to Lucian or looking to refine your skills, this guide will provide you with the strategies and insights you need to dominate the Rift. I'll cover everything from runes and item builds to combos and gameplay tips, helping you make the most out of this powerful champion. Let's dive in and unlock Lucian's full potential together!

Passive: Lightslinger
Whenever Lucian uses an ability, his next attack becomes a double-shot. When Lucian is empowered by another Ally, his next 2 basic attacks will deal bonus magic damage.



Q: Piercing Light
Lucian shoots a bolt of piercing light through a target.

W: Ardent Blaze
Lucian shoots a missile that explodes in a star shape, marking and briefly revealing enemies. Lucian gains Move Speed for attacking marked enemies.

E: Relentless Pursuit
Lucian quickly dashes a short distance. Lightslinger attacks reduce Relentless Pursuit's cooldown.

R: The Culling
Lucian unleashes a torrent of shots from his weapons.

There are a couple of excellent first item choices for Lucian. One of the most outstanding options is starting with Navori Flickerblade into Essence Reaver, with Infinity Edge as your third item.

Rapid Firecannon and Lord Dominik's Regards are also solid damage choices if you need to optimize your ability to deal with tanks or require more range.

If you need a more defensive option, Black Cleaver and Bloodthirster are also viable choices.

Press the Attack is very easy to trigger. Simply auto-attack, use E, double auto-attack, and then use your other two abilities. With four auto-attacks, you gain a 12% damage boost—it's too amazing not to use.

Lucian casts a lot of abilities and has a short range, so he really needs some sustain during the laning phase. Legend: Bloodline and Presence of Mind address these issues. For your damage option in the final row of the Precision tree, I recommend Coup de Grace as it's the most reliable option, providing consistent benefits.

In the secondary tree, I personally recommend the Inspiration tree. Like other AD carries, Lucian also benefits from reaching his power spike as soon as possible. You can save a lot of gold by not buying boots and health potions and instead using Magical Footwear and Biscuit Delivery from the Inspiration tree.

Encourage your supporter to go all-in at level 2/3. Your damage with three abilities is amazing, and you will have seven auto-attacks plus Press the Attack in a single spell rotation. This creates a huge kill condition and should not be wasted.

Always start your combo with your weakest ability, so your stronger ones benefit from Press the Attack. I typically start with an auto-attack, then use W, followed by a double auto-attack, E, another double auto-attack, and finally Q with a double auto-attack. If you are level 6, you can use your ultimate after this combo.

Use E early to lower its cooldown. Every time you attack, its cooldown is reduced.

When you want to use your ultimate, try to hit a W first to get a movement speed bonus while hitting your ultimate shots.

Check the river for plants, as Lucian's mana costs are very high.

Try to steal dragons and barons with your ultimate, as you deal increased damage to monsters.

Lucian excels when he can secure an early lead and push towards ending games swiftly. He is a champion best suited for aggressive players who thrive on making plays and dominating the early to mid game. If you prefer a more defensive playstyle and aim to scale into the late game, Lucian might not be the ideal choice for you.

One of Lucian's greatest strengths is his dash ability, which allows him to reposition quickly and outplay opponents in 1v1 situations. His kit provides high mobility and burst damage, making him a formidable threat in skirmishes and team fights. By leveraging his abilities effectively, you can consistently outmaneuver and outplay your opponents, especially during the early and mid stages of the game.

However, keep in mind that Lucian's effectiveness diminishes in the late game compared to other AD carries. His short attack range makes it challenging to kite and deal sustained damage against tanky champions. To maximize your impact, focus on snowballing your advantage early and closing out games before the enemy team has a chance to scale.
