Rakan
[BASE EXPLANATION OF THREATS]
Rule of thumb is that every support with tools to interrumpt your engage or your dashes will be dangerous in laning phase.
Every mage support -or double mage bot lane- will try to poke out of existence, so pay attention to your positioning and buy boots first if you find it hard to dodge skillshots.
Tank supports and high mobility adcs will often try to engage your adc when you engage theirs. You can hold your E to get back to your adc and peel them, but try to focus the same enemy as them, or you won't get enough CC / damage to win the trade.
Rakan has both a very flexible playstyle and very flexible build paths, so try to realize what's hard for you to play against, and then adjust your build or playstyle to compensate that.
Did you know that Rakan is the only champion that has 3 points at 3 skills by the client classification? You can do it!
Xayah
The extended E range is a HUGE tool. You can set up plays from miles away, and your ult's have amazing synergy.
If you can get lvl 2 first and the enemy doesn't respect it, it's almost a free kill.
After lvl 3, when you get your Q, you can W, Q an enemy and you will almost always be in extended range to E Xayah and heal both of you.
After lvl 6, you can go all-in from very far away with R + E + W and even flash, and if Xayah gets the R + E stun then it's over, you won.
Keep in mind though, that you are both a bit weak early against many match-ups. Xayah doesn't have a lot of mana until she gets Essence Reaver, so she can't be spamming abilities. You need to know how to play safe when needed.
Having said that, it can be a bit hard to coordinate plays so it depends on how much experience you both have playing with each other.

Champion Build Guide
If you just started getting into Rakan, I'd recommend giving the guide a quick glance and trying the builds yourself. Rakan is very flexible after his 1st item, so experiment a bit on swiftplay or normal draft to get the hang of it.
This guide will always be updated, so if you just want to check the best full build for the patch and leave, feel free to do so.
If you want to understand matchups, when to build each item, and what their syenrgies are with Rakan's kit, check out the notes, I've put them everywhere.
I like guides that are deep but to the point, so I will try to convey that here.
25.10 doesn't have much for Rakan, unless you're playing AP Rakan, or with an APC, since most AP items have been buffed. Lulu has been nerfed for the last 3 patches, so you can play a little less safe against her, especially in low elo.
The only other relevant note is that the buff to the Unflinching rune that happened in 25.09 has benefited Braum and Leona a bit, so you might have a harder time against them.
Extremely high mobility (can escape, engage, set up plays, roam)
Amazing engage potential (best in all game maybe?)
Great AP scaling (although not always useful)
Cons:
Can make a huge impact, but can't solo carry (relies on team following up)
Really high cooldowns (needs a lot of ability haste)
Needs some knowledge to build efficiently
1. Extra range on E with Xayah + you can join each others recall to get back to base faster.
Best way to take advantage of this passive in laning phase is to start recalling in a bush or safe place at the same time that Xayah has almost finished farming the wave that's about to crash into enemy tower. That way she can just walk up to you and instantly get back to base while not losing any farm. Keep in mind that this might take a bit of practice with the timings.
For the extra E range, you can engage from unexpected places in teamfights or from a distant bush in laning phase, which can take the enemy by surprise.
2. Second passive is a shield that activates automatically on himself every 40 to 14.5 seconds depending on his level. Attacks and abilities against champions reduce that cooldown by 1 second.
Best way to use this is by keeping an eye on the cooldown and engaging when you're about to proc the shield. This passive has a noticable sound effect 2 seconds before the shield is granted, so you can use that as your cue to get aggresive.
Gleaming Quill (Q): A skillshot in which you throw a feather that does a little bit of damage, and if it hits an enemy champ or epic monster (drakes, baron, herald and grubs), it restores some health to you and allies near you after 3 seconds or when you touch them.
Cons of Q:
1. it is blocked by minions, shaco traps, heimer towes, etc.
2. if you don't have an ally near you, you have to wait 3 whole seconds before getting the heal, so it's not too useful in 1v1 situations
3. it's a skillshot, so you might just miss it
Pros of Q:
1. it's has amazing peel potential in laning phase, where it's heal is more impactful
2. when used properly, it can save teammates on the brink of dead.
For example: you can shield (E) an ally that's about to get killed, knock-up (W) the enemy to allow your teammate to get some distance, hit them with the Q, and then come back to your ally with your second E to heal them (and yourself) and bodyblock skillshots if needed.
3. low mana cost (45) at every level.
Grand Entrance (W):
E:
R:
W + AA + Q + AA + E away
(you can also start with an extra AA if you are inside a bush)
Ultimate combo when close to enemy:
R inside a bush + Flash into enemy + AA + W + AA + Q + AA + E away
Ultimate combo when far from enemy:
R + E the closest ally to your objective + Flash if needed + W + AA + Q + AA + E away to heal you and your teammate.
To ensure the longest CC chain, you'll want to engage with R or W, and wait until one CC is almost finished before using the other one. (Will attach video)
