[9.17] Super On-Hit/Attack Speed Ultra Aurelion Sol Jungle

By Dracobark
Introduction

Introduction

Hello, my name is Dracobark, an IRON mastery 7 400kMP Aurelion Sol main. Today I present to you the build that will CHANGE THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.

Are you a crazy boi? Do you love those stars circling around you but wish you could breathe more fire, like a true dragon? Do you wish to live in the jungle, smashing tiny raptors to death while torching the big one?

Introducing Super On-Hit Attack Speed Jungle Ultra Aurelion Sol
Summary/Pitch

DRAGON'S BREATH IT IS, DOMINATE THE JUNGLE

This build is amazing and if you think its not you're just plain wrong.

You focus on getting high attack speed and stacking as much on-hit effects as you can!
Why waste your time with this new rework and it's boring burst playstyle when you can auto attack everyone to death?

Ganking is pretty amazing with Sol, just E over the wall and stun em! Hit them with your stars and a few AA's for PTA to kick in aaaaand... you just took first blood! Get a few more ganks until one of your enemies asks to report their jungler in all chat and you know the game is pretty much won!

Become a strong dragon dealing so much damage the enemy team will think they're testing a new grayscale colorblind mode!

M-mr. Dwacobwark??? Does it weally work >w<
YEEEES, I've climbed from Bronze IV to Bronze I (Season 8) and haven't had this much fun in league in a long time! Seriously though, it's a fun build and it works! Learn a new way to play your favorite space noodle!
Runes

Healing focused/Shield noodle

Primary (Precision)

Press The Attack: Greatly improves your ability to gank due to the bonus damage and damage taken from all sources.
Overheal: Build up shields with items like botrk.
Legend: Alicrity: Bonus attack speed, a MUST.
Coup De Grace: Finish em off!

Secondary (Resolve)

Bone Plating: Greatly increases your survivability.
Revitalize:: More healing from potions and synergy with overheal and items like gunblade. It also helps a lot with early sustain.

The classic build

Primary (Precision)

Press The Attack: Greatly improves your ability to gank due to the bonus damage and damage taken from all sources.
Triumph: Bonus gold and slightly more survivability in team fights
Legend: Alicrity: Bonus attack speed.
Coup De Grace: Finish em off!

Secondary (Resolve)

Bone plating:: Sol is pretty squishy, especially after the nerfs. This rune should help negate some of the damage.
Revitalize: More healing from potions & early sustain.

Inspiration secondary

Secondary (Inspiration)

I no longer recommend Inspiration, go Resolve.

Domination as primary

Primary (Domination)

Electrocute: More damage, very easy to proc with Q and AA.
Cheap SHot: Ganking and stunning enemies with Q allows you to deal some true damage.
Eyeball Collection: Get more damage from takedowns.
Ultimate Hunter: Your abilities heal.

Triumph: More gold and helps you to survive in teamfights.
Legend: Alacrity: +18% AS is just too good to turn down and I highly recommend it over the other precision runes.

Stat runes

Offence - Attack Speed: You'll need this, sol's base AS isn't that great.
Flex - Adaptive Force: More damage!
Defense - Health: Health is the safe pick, it depends on your matchup however. If they are mostly AP go MR and same for AD and armor.

Best runes?

It really depends on your playstyle! If you wan't to be more healing focused go mess around with Overheal/Revitalize! The classic build with Triumph never fails to let met down and the Electrocute/Cheap Shot is always worth trying! Experiment and most of all, have fun!
Items

Starting Items

Hunter's Talisman: The mana and health regen is a must!
Refillable Potion: Helps with early sustain.

Jungle item & Boots

Skirmisher's Sabre - Bloodrazor: Will allow for a decent clear speed, betas go stalker's instead.
Berserker's Greaves: Go this if you want to go full damage, but if you're struggling you're free to go mercury or tabis instead.

Recommended

Blade of the Ruined King: Build this inmediately after jungle item! Provides you with some attack speed, necessary healing and a very useful active.
Guinsoo's Rageblade: Still a great item but there are currently reports of it being bugged. Bonus AS, on-hit damage and penetration.
Runaan's Hurricane: Highly recommended, allows you to deal damage to additional targets (and on-hit effects!) and greatly improves clear speed.

Optional - AD

Blodthirster: Greatly improves survivability!
Death's Dance: Gives a big amount of AD + heals for 15% of all damage (5% for AoE).

Optional - AP

Nashor's Tooth: Great item to give your stars a boost while gaining attack speed and more on-hit damage.
Rabadon's Deathcap: If you need more AP lategame.
Zhonya's Hourglass: AP,armor and a great defensive active.
Lich Bane: If you really need the AP yet want more on-hit effects this might be a good option. Another reason to consider this item is if you're having trouble managing your mana.

Optional - Tank

Frozen Mallet: Good item if you're feeling squishy, slow is always welcome, on-hit effects.
Guardian Angel: Situational.
Iceborn Gauntlet: Ability > AA for on-hit damage, icy zone can be useful in team fights.
Trinity Force: The all arounder, gain essential stats and a huge AS bonus.

Optional - Magic Tank

Wit's End: The new Wit's is great at dealing on-hit damage, healing and giving you 50 magic resistance.
Mercurial Scimitar: Against CC heavy teams.
Maw of Malmortius: Great against high damage mages, a must against champions like Karthus due to your low HP.

Don't forget to buy Elixirs of Wrath once you are full build!
Abilities

Ability sequence

Always level Q first, it allows for better clear and a longer stun for your ganks. After that it depends on your needs, W allows for more damage while E allows for more flight distance. I recommend putting a 2nd point in E at the very least even if you level W first.

Abilities

P - Center of the Universe

You should know by now that Aurelion Sol's stars deal damage. The trick is using them effectively while jungling, you can do this by circling around camps so the stars hit them faster. While your circling use auto attacks in between, use them on the biggest target (in case of wolves/raptors).

Q - Starsurge

A good engage, you'll only succeed in ganking if you can consistently hit Q's during ganks. When the target is stunned proc your PTA if you have it and help your laner kill it. Keep in mind that your Q grows in size as you travel so feel free to start casting your Q from the river or while using your E.

W - Celestial Expansion

Expands your stars to hit enemies further away and deal more damage. This is great especially for finishing off targets that are trying to get away. A lot of damage however comes from your auto attack's with this build so don't forget to use both
(Please revert W Riot)

E - Comet of Legend

This my friends, makes sol jungle work. You can quickly traverse terrain and go over walls while casting your Q to come in with a big surprise for your enemies. Keep in mind that wards are a thing however and enemies usually consider areas like their jungle a "no fly zone". You can also try to use your E to steal objectives, or to escape from a bad situation.

R - Voice of Light

A great "back off!" against melee champions since it pushes them towards your outer limit. I personally however, use it more for sniping and finishing off low health enemies :)
Creeping / Jungling + General Tips

First camps

1. Make sure you get leashed when clearing blue/red, both blue and red are useful on ASol, I recommend killing the bot buff since you'll have 2 people to help you out. While clearing your first buff use a refillable and circle around the buff while auto attacking. Try not to use smite unless needed.
2. Clear wolves/raptors with another refillable.
3. You can gank if you have the opportunity but you won't have E yet at this point. Use smite on Gromp/Krugs.
4. Gank, prepare for scuttle or in the worst case, recall.

The key to being a good sol jungler is to gank gank and gank, use your E to quickly travel around and stun your opponents so your teammates can kill them. Since you can travel large distances with your E its easier to go from lane to lane.

General tips

Jungling

-Raptors and wolves are the easiest camps to kill due to your stars.
-Make optimal use of your stars so you lose less health (circle around camps!).
-You can solo red/blue at lvl 1 but its not recommended since you'll be left at low health.
-Avoid the enemy jungler early game, your base health is quite low. Ward important objectives and try to avoid things like fighting over scuttle. Use your pings wisely to increase your team's awareness. Warn them about incoming enemies and ask for assistance if the enemy jungler is chasing you.

Ganking

-Go for some early ganks! They allow you to get core items faster.
-Lv1 invades are kinda risky with your low base health, make sure you got your team to back you up! But I recommend not invading unless you are confident about your team/matchup.
-Your stars are great for finishing off enemies who are trying to get away!
-Be careful with ganking champions with high bursts as they have a tendency to erase you (LeBlanc).

Most important tip

-Don't hover in champ select, sol's banrate is low and this way you don't risk your zed/yas mid banning you.
Pros / Cons

Pros

-Great ganking ability
-Deal massive physical and magic damage
-Its fun and he looks silly
-Enemies won't expect it
-Hardcarry late game

Cons

-Mana early on is a problem
-Early clear speed is ok, but low max health may be annoying
-Squishy (50 HP PepeHands)
-Team wants to ff because it's not meta
Recent patches
Updated the guide after being absent for a long time. Changed out some runes and updated the items since a few of them were reworked. I plan on updating more frequently now. Thanks for reading!
