A True Enthusiasts Guide To Jhin

By LUKEV666
Introduction
We got some ground rules to cover before you read this guide, and the first most important one of these rules is that you must go out of your way to avoid a pentakill. It is simply not allowed. Quadras are the goal, no more no less. If you have to ask why, you've come to the wrong place and should find a different guide immediately.

Now that that is out of the way, the other couple rules are simple, your favourite number for all intents and purposes must now be 4 and you must ensure to inform everyone when your 4th shot has been used by exclaiming the word 'FOUR!' as loud as possible.

Now you may be wondering who I am, so wise, so skilled and so qualified to be giving advice. Stop.

All you need to know is that I am hard stuck gold IV, the ideal rank for any Jhin main, being the 4th division of the 4th rank. Therefore I am perfectly qualified and you should follow this guide to the letter.
Disclaimer
Just a quick warning, this guide is a work in progress (meaning there is currently very little content) and written by a hardstuck Gold player, so you know, take that how you will.
Passive - Whisper
So lets go over Jhin's abilities first to make sure you have at least a basic understanding of the champ.

We'll start with his passive, Whisper.
To put it bluntly, this means you got 4 shots, then you're gonna spend the next 2.5 seconds of your life reloading whilst the enemy throws everything they got at you. But fear not, there's more to it then that. Whilst your first 3 autos are fairly normal, your 4th shot is where it gets spicy, your final bullet in the clip will always crit, has an unstoppable attack wind up and deals bonus execute damage(15% missing health level 1, 20% level 6 and 25% level 11). Also, you will reload your gun after not autoing for 10 seconds, although this timer can be reset by casting any ability. It is also important to note that you can still use abilities during your reload animation, meaning you are not completely defenceless, just mostly defenceless.

The second part of Jhin's passive is that he has a locked attack speed, meaning it only scales with level, and instead gains a massive chunk of bonus attack damage based on his bonus attack speed, critical strike chance and level.

Third, yes I know, this passive just keeps on giving, is the fact that scoring a crit or successfully rooting a target with your Deadly Flourish (we'll cover that in a bit) grants you bonus move speed, again scaling with your bonus attack speed.
Q - Dancing Grenade
Next up is Jhin's Q, Dancing Grenade.

This ability fires out a small projectile that bounces betweene targets, you guessed it, 4 times. The damage increases by 35% for each target killed by the Dancing Grenade, making it an excellent tool for farming. You can also cheat this system, in that so long as you kill the target of the grenades previous bounce before the next bounce hits, it will still gain the damage increase.
W - Deadly Flourish
Now we move onto Jhin's W, Deadly Flourish. This ability fires out an incredibly fast moving shot (after the abilities windup) that stops at the first champion hit, rooting them if they have been damaged by you or a teammate in the last 4 seconds (Activating a Captive Audience lotus trap will also apply this mark to the enemy champion). Successfully rooting a champion will grant the bonus move speed from Whisper.

This ability can be used to secure CS from a distance, but should only be used as such if truly necessary.
E- Captive Audience
The last of Jhin's basic abilities is Captive Audience and has 2 parts.

Firstly is its passive, Beauty In Death. This simply means that each takedown you get will spawn an activated lotus trap under the victim, which is incredibly useful in team fights in compact areas.

And secondly is its Active, allowing you to deploy a lotus trap, which activates upon being crossed by any enemy. Once activated, a lotus trap will take 1 second to arm and then detonate. Champions that activate a lotus trap will receive a mark from Deadly Flourish and champions hit by the traps detonation will be revealed for 4 seconds. Traps are stealthed until activation and last 180 seconds after being placed. You can store up to 2 charges of Captive Audience at any time.

The activation of a lotus trap slows the enemies within by 35% and deal 65% damage to non-champions and champions hit by a trap in the last 1 second.
R - Curtain Call
Finally we reach Jhin's ultimate ability Curtain Call.

Upon casting this ability, Jhin will plant himself in place and pull out the big guns, literally. You will then have 10 seconds to fire 4 large projectiles with large execute damage (up to 300% of there base damage), with the fourth round hitting for 200% damage. These large rounds grant vision around themselves and stop upon colliding with a champion. Each hit against an enemy champion will slow them by 80% for 0.5 seconds. There is a 1 second cooldown between each shot.

IMPORTANT NOTE
To fire a shot from your ult, recast the ability, right clicking will cancel the ultimate.
Runes
Just a quick one here explaining each rune choice,

Dark Harvest goes really well with your 4th shot, giving it a ridiculous amount of execute potential.

Taste of Blood is a really nice rune to help sustain in lane, although you could use Cheap Shot if you have a CC heavy support like a Leona or a Nautilus.

Eyeball Collection is the obvious choice here, doubt I need to explain it.

Ravenous Hunter is a really helpful rune for sustain both during and after laning phase, and is the best option of all the hunters.

Presence of Mind is too good to not take on almost any ADC, and Jhin is no exception to this rule.

Legend: Bloodline is again a really helpful rune for mid to late game sustain, meaning you don't need to rush any lifesteal items in most games.
