First words

Hi, I'm Haskih from EU-West.
This will be my first guide, so if I've failed miserably in some part of it; I'll take the blame.

Enough of trash talk, I'll go down to business now.

Pros / Cons

+ Powerful entire game
+ Great presence
+ No hard counters
+ Fast farming post 6
+ Fun to play

- Farming pre 6 is terrible
- Badly placed wall will screw everything up
- Constant mana problems
- Very expensive to build
- Her joke is.. try it.

Why do I pick these masteries and runes?!

I will not talk about my runes, masteries or item choices.

Deal with it.

Farming

This requires a special mention.

PRE 6:

Farming with Anivia will be tricky. Her auto-attack-animation is SLOW and her damage is very low.
One does not simply farm under his/her turret without abilities.
But if you do USE ABILITIES to farm, Q or even E (to get that sneaky little minion), your bird WILL BE out of mana in an instant and that scenario is really something you don't want to have.
Exceptions:
none
except when you're going to recall back to base.

POST 6(with some items to prevent your instant mana starvation:

A simple task. When you see a minion wave coming, use your ultimate and throw a Q if you want to do it quick. But by doing this, you'll push your lane.
A few tips, because this is often disregarded:
- Buy wards
- Obtain blue buff
- Clear both wraith camps every chance you get
- Help other lanes, your burst is HUGE

Crystallize

Anivias' skills are all unique, but her wall needs a mention.

Use the wall to cut escape routes or prevent enemies to come at you from a certain direction.
This will be the easiest thing to do in the jungle, where you can block an entrance even with rank 1 wall.

Use the wall to negate damage from the nasty blue buff golem. Place the wall in front of it, the golem WILL NOT RESET and it won't be able to smash you.

Use the wall to scout enemies, baron, dragon. You'll still need wards though.

Trick Nunu by placing your wall on top of him whilst he's casting his ultimate. It won't cancel the channel but most likely will startle him to accidentally move and hence breaking the channel.
Be wary. if you laugh and do it, remember that this also results in an immovable obstacle on the battlefield for 5 seconds what can do harm too.

Team Work

Know your place: you're the ap carry of your team.
Lets sit down and think about what you really need to accomplish with your skill set.

Lets start from the base idea: kill the high priority target
false. You need to kill the highest priority target and not to get yourself killed during this.
There's no point in rushing in the middle of 5 enemy champions no matter how fed you're.
With good luck the target you now chose was the overextended enemy ad-carry who will die to a single burst.

What to do in a team fight?
Very simple really, place your ultimate so that it will debuff & damage majority of the opposing team. If they walk away from it; just deactivate it and place it again after few seconds.
Use your Flash Frost to
1. Stun the enemy carry
2. Stun multiple champions if they are clustered
3. Stun the nasty enemy who is trying to kill your carry. or you. or both.

Then we need to cover our main damage source: Frost bite.
You may think that it's a team fight and you can throw it aimlessly.
False. ALWAYS target the high priority target who is CHILLED by your ultimate or Flash Frost.
In teamfights, every single bit of damage counts, and Anivia can double her own. Think before act.

Heading to more advanced types of team play? ok.
If you can communicate with your team properly, by all means, do use your wall to catch an enemy off guard by isolating him from his team. This will often result a forced team fight in your advantage. Or it will force a flash! Too bad. But don't worry, your wall will be up much sooner than the one who got caught (he will surely get caught again). Next time this happens. Flash will be on cooldown.
