Introduction

This guide is for Warwick in the ARAM game mode.

Spell Usage

  • Hungering Strike is for inflicting damage and Health Regeneration. Spam it even on minions when not at full health.
  • Hunters Call is for increasing the Attack Speed of Warwick and his nearby allies. Use is in teamfights, fast cleaning when enemy minions are near an allied turret, or when attacking an enemy turret.
  • Blood Scent is for increasing movement speed and detecting enemy champions at low health. No use to toggle it off except when attempting an ambush.
  • Infinite Duress is for locking down an enemy champion. Use it on squishy enemy champions for eliminating them fast.

Summoners Spells

Recommended spells:
  • Flash for gap closing.
  • Heal for extra healing and speed boost.
  • Exhaust for weakening key targets.
  • Ignite for countering sustain and/or securing kills.

Runes

All Runes are level scaling Runes, since this ARAM and early game should be dedicated to farming and poking without taking unnecessary risks before level 6. Seals are Armor and Glyphs are Magic Resist for Damage Reduction.

Marks and Quintessences are Magic Penetration for more Magic Damage, through Eternal Thirst passive, Hungering Strike and some items ( Sunfire Aegis, Wit's End) if they are bought. An other choice can be Scaling AP for Marks and Quintessences for stronger Hungering Strike.

Items

Start Items

  • Start: Chalice of Harmony for Mana Rageneration. Can be temporary item when if the game drags on and when survival relying on Hungering Strike is no longer necessary. Can be upgraded to Athene's Unholy Grail for Cooldown Reduction and AP, or into Mikael's Blessing, for the Cleanse-like active and extra Magic Resist.
  • Relic Shield is for fast killing minions, extra sustain and Gold for the team. Upgrade to Targon's Brace for even more Gold and sustain. It is only a temporary item, so it should be replaced if the game drags on. By that point, the Gold bonus should be greater than the purchase cost.
  • OR Ancient Coin if ally teammates have good champions for safe farming. Upgrade to Nomad's Medallion for even more Gold and sustain.
  • Remaining Gold goes to Health Potion.

Magic Resist Items

Armor Items

  • Sunfire Aegis for inflicting some Magic Damage while tanking.
  • Thornmail if there is a lot of Auto-Attack on the enemy team.
  • Randuin's Omen if there is a lot of Auto-Attack on the enemy team, or if Health is needed.
  • Frozen Heart if there is a lot of Auto-Attack on the enemy team. The aura stacks with the Oppression mastery for additional damage reduction.

Strategy

Before level 6, the early game should be focused on killing minions and accumulate gold. No engagement unless the risk is very low. As a tank, intercept enemy skillshots and traps when Health is high then cast Hungering Strike to regain Health. If allies are capable of scoring kills, cast Hunters Call for easy assists.

After level 6, attempts to score kills can be made. Cast Infinite Duress on a high priority target, but make sure allies are ready to follow first. Nevertheless, priority should go on killing minions to push, and destroy towers to secure a comfortable advance. Chase to shoo away then go back to kill minions, not chase to score kills and risk getting killed and feed the enemy team.

Always keep in check the numbers of alive champions to know if it safe to push with a low number of teammates.
