General Comments on the Build

Hi Guys just an Azir main who wanted to share something I saw in Korea from a 400k Azir main while I was playing there since I usually play in NA. This kill pressure lane Azir is super strong and even though you rush rod you still have decent damage, the standard Azir build of comet barrier is just impossible to win midgame with if you get even slightly behind which can happen often due to getting camped mid. However with the new jungle changes taking off some of the jungle pressure this build can really flourish and trust me when I say it feels good to play. The build is obviously not what people usually use with Azir but I promise it works well, the reasoning is essentially that rod has always been a decent item for Azir since it scales and gives more health than he usually gets, the trade off is the lack of damage if you use traditional runes like comet and aery but since we're using electrocute you're able to have dmg and tankiness along with mana. I only recommend people who are really confident with Azir to use this because hitting the eletrocute with a standard W auto Q second auto requires precise spacing if you want to stay out of range of the enemy laner and especially since you're gonna have lower attack speed than usual in the early levels. You won't have a defensive summoner for late game but the rod will give you added tankiness and the recent ignite buffs a few patches ago make it better than heal in a 1v1. Overall give it a try if you're a frequent Azir player and don't be afraid to play him mid on this patch. If this ends up getting looked at I'll add some of the other tricks i've learned while playing Azir, i've got about 300k on him between my NA and korean account. I've been playing it in Korean Gold so it should work for like Plat or Diamond on NA lol.

Runes

This is where it gets controversial but as of now I think electrocute is the best rune for Azir. Azir's biggest problem for solo Q climbing is getting out of lane without being behind or camped to death. Electrocute with ignite gives way more kill pressure than a standard comet barrier build allowing a skilled Azir to have much more pressure and even look to turn on junglers. This build only works for those who have put in the time on Azir however.

Items

Rod, Nashors and Sorcs are the core after that the options open up to Morrelos, Rylais, or Zhonyas if you really need more defense but otherwise Morrelos seems to be the best. If the game goes to super late Rabadons is the way to go but you shouldn't be getting this early unless you get immensely fed.

Skill Sequence

I like to take an extra point into W before maxing Q for the mid game attack speed bonus since you won't be rushing nashor's first other than that pretty standard always take E level 3 for gank avoidance.
