Try to just make sure you dont let him cancel your stun with his bandage toss. Even if he does, it shouldn't be a huge deal. Assuming he's going to build tank, you will want to go Kraken Slayer build.
Ekko
This matchup feels almost entirely dependant on avoiding his stun while also landing your own one. He's really hard to deal with early game so try wait for a while before fighting him unless you get lucky and find him low HP. If enemies don't really have tankiness, you'll thoroughly enjoy the Shieldbow build vs this guy.
Elise
Debated whether to put this as extreme threat. She's got insane damage early and unless your sidestep game is on point, you likely will have to use your W to dodge her cocoon. She can outgank outpressure and outcontest just about everything. Shieldbow is nice but its still hard because by the time you get it she will likely have wreaked havoc. Whatever you do, do not try to do the stun for stun mechanic by dashing into hers to land your own, she wins that.
Evelynn
Really isn't a huge deal. Not much to be said. If u can use your E to avoid her charm then its fully free, otherwise youll at least want red smite to help you face tank her combo. Shieldbow makes life really easy and you can likely fight her at almost any point in the game.
Fiddlesticks
Only saying this is even because of the strong teamfight presence this guy brings. You can fight him pretty easily at most stages. You can essentially perma cancel his drain because he doesnt get the reduced cooldown from it and your stun CD is about the same as his heal. Just try to make sure he doesn't get a juicy ult and you should be fine. You can go any build vs him.
Gragas
This man is nothing but a nuisance. Don't let him cancel your W and he should just about never be an issue for you. Not much else to said really. Any build works.
Graves
Graves is kind of weird where it's like if you get slapped harder than you slap you lose. Landing stun on this guy is basically an essential, especially if he has phase rush. Don't try to ult him to gap close just because you missed your W unless your giga ahead. It's probably not gonna do you any good. You will probably appreciate either Galeforce or Kraken Slayer vs him.
Hecarim
He can out gank and out farm you and he's pretty hard to keep up with. You don't really win the early fights against him either so try not to fight him 1v1 without Kraken unless you already have a lead. You just have to try counter gank or gank opposite sides and hope he doesn't snowball too hard.
Ivern
Kind of just an annoying champion. He just does Ivern things. Ward pixel brush on opposite side of your start to make sure u see if he's trying to early cheese your camp. Other than that build whatever you please and do your thing.
Jarvan IV
If he ever ults you he basically forces himself to fight in your mist which isn't what anyone should want. He's kind of just a bad champion at the moment so you can do as you please. Kraken Slayer is nice since it lets you burst harder. You can also try 3 camp and look for an invade at his buff since he doesn't have the best clear.
Jax
It's a good thing this guy isn't more popular cos he's a gigantic pain the ***. He essentially dodges all of your damage so you have to try and bait his E out and hope he doesn't stun you. Your W dash doesn't really offer you much of an escape and post-6 his ult makes him way tankier than he needs to be. Try to avoid fighting him alone. Galeforce if your team can't help you fight, Kraken if they can.
Karthus
He can hard outfarm you and can get massive gold leads just by pressing 1 button. If we are talking about a 1v1 scenario, it is essential you land your stun (which shouldn't be overly difficult given his lack of mobility), if he tries to flash away you really either have to insta run or just ult/flash after him immediately. He can kite you down really hard if you mess it up so you must land ult if he survives your stun.
Any of the Galeforce Shieldbow or Kraken builds will do fine, although personally I prefer Shieldbow to stop him from cheese ulting you.
Kayn
You can beat this guy at most stages of the game and just about always while he's pre-form (unless he somehow gets fed). If he goes shadow assassin you just go for Shieldbow and it's pretty free. If he goes Rhaast, Kraken Slayer and early executioners will help you fight him, but bear in mind it's not an easy fight. You both drain tank so it's pretty crucial you land all your hits and preferably dodge his knock-up.
Kha'Zix
This guy is one of my favourite bans because really he's unfathomably annoying to play against. Don't try to 1v1 him almost ever unless you're not isolated. You can go for whichever build you will need vs the rest of his team because itemising against him is almost pointless. You have a decent chance if you go Kraken and he does the goredrinker build so better say your prayers.
Kindred
Can deny your ult, dodge your abilities, kite you really hard. If you land your stun you should be ok to force her to ult and from there it's sort of just a hack and slash to see who stops the other from healing more. Feel free to use your ult early to try and force their ult out if things go bad, otherwise save your ult as a final gap closer and that should win you most 1v1's.
Lee Sin
This ones kind of weird. It's a skill matchup that feels slightly more weighed towards the Lee Sin. If he lands his Q, your main hope is to try and get a fully charged stun as he flies towards you, but if you're not careful and start it too early, your stun will dissipate and he can still jump to you. If he doesn't land his Q it should be pretty free. Kraken is the way to go.
Lillia
Pain in the *** champion. She's not even that strong. She can decimate your team if they sleep on her. If you land your stun you win just about every fight. Early merc treads will make this a lot nicer to play against post 6. If you miss stun you should really not bother trying to chase because she out runs you and you lose a lot of damage.
Master Yi
CC him after his Q and go Kraken Slayer. If he isn't ulting, try to combo him > hide in E til your stun is up > continue fight and save stun to cancel his W. Honestly shouldn't be a hard matchup. That being said sometimes laners do laner things. Also he's really easily invadable if you get a lead.
Nidalee
Get hit by spear you'll probably die unless she's behind. Shieldbow makes this easier to survive if things didn't go according to plan whereas Kraken makes this almost laughably easy when your ahead.
Nocturne
Honestly really easy match up. You can charge your W and smite him to bait out his spellshield and get a free stun. You kind of just outdamage him unless he's fed and if you go Kraken you can even kill him before he gets his fear off. If things aren't looking hot, it's likely in your best interest to use your dash to break his fear chain because at the end of the day it is still like a 2s fear.
Nunu & Willump
Kind of similar to Elise just that usually Nunu can't kill you in the 1v1 unless you have fallen behind. He can hyper gank and totally ruin the game for you before you even get a chance to play and most of the time he's going to be too tanky to merit killing (unless you are ahead). Vs him you will basically always want Kraken.
Olaf
If you don't burst this guy a single combo you're most likely about to lose the colours on your screen. Fortunately however, you do outscale pretty well. Kraken Slayer build is without a doubt the way to go. Try not to focus him in fights unless your team is strong enough to burst him. Following all of his nerfs, you can probably destroy his teammates before he gets anything done.
Pantheon
Following the nerfs he got he shouldn't be overly difficult to deal with. Combo him before he combos you and when he uses his E, you ult behind him. Do be careful in the early game because he is still Pantheon. Kraken game.
Rammus
Annoying champion to deal with. The easiest way to win this match up is to go ignite smite and you can duel him always. Post Kraken this becomes pretty free but in teamfights he can really throw a spanner in the works if he taunts you and you dont get to possess because of it. This matchup you kind of want to play it assassin like and wait outside of vision until the 4head Rammus player gets too bored and tries to roll into your team without knowing your location. That's when you do Viego things. QSS is really nice if teamfights are hard to survive with his taunt.
Rek'Sai
Hard outscale this guy, be aware he can see you while invis if he is burrowed. He beats you to **** early but you with Kraken you start to very quickly outdamage.
Rengar
This guy is nasty. If he goes ignite you just can't 1v1 him ever really. He will probably try to invade always so keep yellow trinket. You will need your laners help. Any build works honestly.
Sejuani
Pretty easy for the most part. Merc treads will be essential and Kraken Slayer makes like 10 times easier.
Shaco
This guy is pretty annoying but the matchup isn't that bad. You can go Kraken or Shieldbow depending on what you're vibing with more. Your Q auto should kill his box, get early noonquiver to make it easier. Be careful not to let him get the drop on you in the jungle or river and you'll be ok. Ignite instead of flash is viable if you struggle to recognise clone vs real.
Shyvana
Pretty even matchup. Her AP build lets her burst you but if you dodge her E you should be ok. BOTRK is good here and you can go any marksman mythic. Do be careful that she doesnt find you low hp.
Skarner
This guy is just a much worse version of Udyr really. He can be kind of hard to kill early game but that changes if you get a decent first back. BOTRK will help you stick to him a bit more and Kraken basically one shots him. Be aware that he is very tanky so if fights last a long time then his team might just show up.
Taliyah
She will one shot with her combo like she does to most squishies, but you outscale pretty fast and usually landing one stun should be a free kill. You can use your ult to dodge her E and mine field.
Udyr
Viable dodge match up honestly. You don't win fights for a long time even if ahead. He beats the **** out of you and your team and there's nothing you can do except pray he doesn't show face in your jungle. Go the usual Kraken build and spam your teammates to help you win this. If you're not overly confident I'd recommend banning this guy or dodging.
Vi
She doesn't really do anything to be honest. She can do some damage if she gets ahead but otherwise she's not a huge deal. Don't let her cancel your W with her Q and you'll be ok. Bonus points for dodging her Q. Any build works fine but Kraken is the easiest.
Warwick
Really not a huge threat, you can genuinely outrun his fear using your E and after that it's free real estate. I'd recommend early antiheal but you shouldn't need it unless you fall behind. Kraken build pretty juicy here.
Wukong
Monke go brr.
Xin Zhao
Bad champ. Don't fight early and build whatever float your boat.
Zac
You outclear outdamage outstat this guy. You should never get hit by his E and it straight up gives you a very free stun. From there you just go ham on him. Kraken makes it an easy win.
Dr. Mundo
Big pain in the *** but still winnable. If you get an early lead you should be able to one shot him through ult even without antiheal. Just land stun and gg. Kraken is essential. If he gets ahead early he will beat the daylights out of you.
1. About Me
My name is C7 Lord Pingu and I'm a Viego player since release. I peaked with him at rank 400 Viego EUW and I play him almost exclusively jungle although I have tried him in every role until now.
You may be wondering, what makes my guide more trustworthy than other guides? Well the difference between my guide and others is that my guide is here to teach you how to play Viego better so you can both become a better jungler, and also a better Viego player. I'm not here to try and trick you into thinking that this "secret trick will get you diamond in a week".
DISCLAIMER: Everything in this guide is from MY OWN EXPERIENCE. I am NOT claiming to be the best Viego player nor the most knowledgeable, but I have tried and experimented with many different things.
