Hi! My name is Thomas "CythaHD" Lammens and this is my personal Ryze guide. My apologies if this isn't a proffesional guide, its my first one.

If there are some mistakes in language, I'm sorry, my main language isn't English ^^.

Pros:

- Can oneshot all enemy's under 2.5k HP lategame.
- Very tanky lategame.
- Quite easy to learn how to master.
- Never OOM past earlygame
- Can farm entire minionwaves and junglecamps (even blue lategame) instantly.
- Can carry easily when ahead.
- UNCLE RYZE BABY.

Cons:

- No hard CC.
- Short range.
- Slow auto attack (since new patch this got better though).
- Very squishy earlygame.
- Gets flamed cause you play an easy "OP" champion.

For runes I take Movement Speed quint's, Magic Penn red's, Armor yellow's and Magic Resist blue's.

The movement speed really helps dodging skillshots and fleeing after u last hit. If your opponent is good he's going to harras you when you last hit a minion. Your abilities have short range so it will be easy for your opponent to harras you in general without being hit. Building movement speed allows you to run faster then him, so you can keep using your combo while chasing when he's running away.

The magic penn is usefull for your damage output, nothing more to say here.

The blue's and yellow's also make sence, since you aren't AP reliable you can build defensive on these runes, instead of going AP like a madman. These runes also help you alot early game.

I think Flash is pretty straith forward... everybody uses Flash as a midlaner, it gives you mobility and it can save your life.

You can use Flash when you want to engage with W or to finnish of people with a Q. It also helps for escaping ganks or whenever you are in a situation you might die.



Personally, I think Teleport is the best summoner in the game, even better then Flash. You can use it to go back to your midlane or to gank bot/top.

When you buy your homeguard boots, you can combo this by teleporting to a ward and rushing towards the enemy support, midlaner or ad carry. You will have them blow their minds cause you will run towards them faster then a Hecarim on steroids.



You might ask : why not Ignite :

The reason I pick Teleport over Ignite is because of the TP-ganks, you can get double kills botlane everytime you use your Teleport. Ask the support to ward the deepest brush and you will win both lanes by yourself.

If you want to kill your lane opponent more frequently I suggest you use Ignite, but I prefer to farm and Teleport all the way.

Every game I use the build that you see on top of this guide, there aren't really much other efficient items to buy on Ryze, he scales on mana and mana only. If you buy AP on Ryze you will lose A LOT of damage and even Tankiness (Since the mana items I use are also huge tank items).

With these items you will have around 4.5k health lategame and alot of magic resist and armor wich makes u a scary Damage-Tank.

I have the most damage done and taken in 4/5th of my games with Ryze using this build, so it helps your team really well in teamfights. If they focus you, you will survive for quite long with the right positioning and in the meantime your adc can do damage.

VS

There are a lot of discussions about what is more efficiently, banshee's or spirit visage.
I use banshee's versus poke champs such as Nidalee, Jayce or Karma or when I'm behind. It helps denying the poke or a crucial stun like a Leona ult.

I use spirit visage when I'm confident of winning the game and being ahead. It helps alot with the spell vamp bonus to sustain damage. With this item + a Frozen Heart + a fully stacked RoA you can solo baron!

The basic combo of Ryze is : -> -> ->

-> This combo allows you to quickly (1sec) burst someone to half hp.

The teamfight combo from Ryze is : -> -> -> -> -> ->

!!! This combo only works with 40% CDR !!!

-> It allows you to deal massive damage to the whole enemy team because of your AoE. If the enemy team is stacked, this combo can win teamfights on its own.

Ofcourse I can show 10000 more combos like an idiot, but everything depens on where enemy's are, how much CDR you have, if you have ult or not, are enemy's close or far away,....

The best thing to do is ALWAYS start with your , to benefit Ryze's passive but as I said, it's all occasional. Don't hesitate to use first when you think your opponent will Flash or run OOR.

Also: PLAY WITH SMARTCAST! YOU CAN NOT PLAY Ryze PROPERLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE SMARTCAST ON.

- Use auto attacks when you dont have blue to farm in lane (stack tear with Q slowly).
- If you have blue, stack up tear fast and Q every minion.
- Clear entire waves with ult if you have to push.
- Clear jungle camps instantly, only when you have blue and ult up, else you will waste to much time.
- Ryze is the easiest champion to farm under turrets since your Q has low cooldown and your W is instant. Let your lane be pushed so you can farm under the turret, it is easy and you will get ganks from your jungle or even from your toplane.

This is my personal list about how I feel the matchup's. If you are against hard or you can go cry to your mom's they will rape u early but after that, Ryze will win ANY matchup.

Use Teleport when you see a nice ganking opportunity (prefferable botlane), ask for a deep ward to suprise the enemy team.

Try not to roam to often, stay and farm your lane and clear wraiths, you will be fed late, and a huge carry for your team.

Protect your ad carry in teamfights by bursting down the enemy damage dealers and W'ing the bruisers who are attacking your carry.
