Jax
Outscales you hard but you can trade against him pre 6 by W-ing him when he counter-strikes then wait for the counter strike to run out and all in him if you have 4 ghouls/graves.
Ivern
His root allows you to engage on to enemies he has strong ganks but try to make sure the enemy won't engage on him.

Champion Build Guide
Good against morde kaiser or sett they both don't scale and therefore it is difficult for them to punish your biscuits and footwear, biscuits help negate their strong early game.
Can be taken instead of the other grasp page, making the lane easier to play pre 6, I would only suggest this when you are against an opponent that doesn't scale well or they have a jungeler with a good amount of cc, but it is viable into the other matchups too I just think that bloodline overheal is better overall.
Keeping the maiden alive is a big part of this but when someone engages on to the Maiden you should engage on to them because they can only auto-attack either you or Maiden (Also a bit of generic advice here that you might be able to make use of on different champions or in games because knowing this will help you greatly in fighting your opponents.
For the late game, there are 3 strategies that you can have and you should use all of them depending on what is going on inside of the game
Strategy 1: Split push
Strategy 2: Team fight
Strategy 3: Leave ghouls in the side lane and rotate to your team.
Strategy 4: Releasing maiden and grouping
You should be team fighting when you control vision of a certain area primarily, and when the minion waves in the side lanes are pushed out or pushing to the enemy side look to be grouped if the enemy top can kill you in a 1v1 or if you simply did not get fed during the game also do your best to always be there before drake spawns at least 1 min in advance of the drake spawning.
I will update this hopefully soon explaining the other of those strategies in detail and how you could spot when you should implement which of those 3 strategies.
It is they are squishy and unable to build tanky because it reduces their damage output by too much whilst their armor/MR and regeneration together with their health is usually lower than other champions their base stats.
And you also want to look at their strengths and the enemy team comp, for example, they do ad damage they do mixed damage they do ap damage they are strong level 1-5 because you won't have your ultimate to help you out until level 6.
The next thing to look at is the enemy team comp, which you had known since champion select but you might not know their individual strengths but for this past 1 item you could simply look at what they build and determine they build for example health and resistances so they must be tanky
For the runes
This rune page is effective against Lucian/Tristana Because they both do multiple attacks or a combo against you to get most of their damage off and Boneplating denies a lot of that combo-based damage.
This rune page is the one recommend against all other ADC's and Teemo but also gnar, Kennen or similar champions with range such as Jayce the main difference between these 2 pages is that bone plating is better against champions that do combo's, you could also take it against Jayce but you generally want to keep some distance from those champions early in the lane.
You could also swap out alacrity for bloodline and even get Overheal instead of Triumph if you want, but the reason I chose alacrity and triumph is that if you kill your squishy enemy laner but get ganked by an enemy jungeler you have more chance to kill them 1v1 attacking quicker and receiving some healing, but on top of that the Triumph gold is good on Yorick and 12% of your missing health is more on a tanky champion such as Yorick than on a squishier champion like an ADC.
Against ap champions such as Rumble or Teemo or Heimerdinger or Ryze, all you would have to change in the rune page is get 8 magic resist for your minor rune instead of the 6 armor.
Examples of laning against a Tristana
Level 1-2 Level 2-3
And because past level 2-3 we just end up doing the exact same game plan until level 6 I decided that it would be good to just skip level 4-5 as you already know what to do.
I reach level 6 with NO deaths which is where the game begins for us.
I misplayed hard and was too impatient to get 4 ghouls or 3 instead of 2, but as you can imagine this was just with 2 ghouls so if we do this all in without misplaying it and having 4 or 3 ghouls we would've killed the Tristana without the Kassadin being near and it wouldn't be that close.
And if she decides to auto ghouls instead of me what I would have to do is auto Tristana for every auto she has on a ghoul and q her, but if she gets out of melee range I would have to disengage or be poked down and potentially respawn in 30.
The general idea is sacrifice minions to get experience and because that's the most important part about laning against an oppressive adc or ranged champion to reach level 6 as soon as possible and so, even against this highly oppressive ranged adc who can nuke my health bar early for the slightest misposition that I make.
I can survive the lane 20-30 ish cs down but will still be able to generate a lead after that, and to punish the Tristana for being squishy we rush a dirk the lethality will be applied by our ghouls too and because ADC's are very squishy, If I hit my E with 3-4 ghouls they are very likely to die if I follow up on the ghouls of course if I miss my E I would have to create more distance between me and the ADC.
Here simply following the same plan and spawning ghouls, Kennen moved away from the minion wave removing some safety, I hit my E just means he dies because I had conqueror so he would have to run regardless of whether the ghouls ended up helping or not.
I started playing League in the middle of season 7 and I'm currently 22 years old, will be 23 at the 8th of april.
I decided to make this guide because I enjoy playing Yorick and I feel like this will help other people enjoy or learn playing Yorick I do think he is undervalued or not being played enough for how fun of a champion he is.
For questions, you can find me at the Yorick subreddit, (Defensivity1 in the subreddit)
or in the Yorick mains Discord (Defensivity#5950 there)
Or you can shoot me a message on Mobafire or post a reaction or question at discussion or send me a private message on twitch where my name is defensivity1
This is my third Yorick guide and I do hope this guide helps other people to enjoy or learn to how to play Yorick.
I ended up getting Diamond in both s9 and s10.
I reached 1.5 Million mastery points on Yorick at 3:12 in the morning at 13-9-2020
And this is my favorite champion if anyone asked Yorick would be my answer.
