Hello, this is a different aproach on Skarner, trying to make him a AP/DPS with high sustentability in lane, using the Attack Speed and Energize to constantly cooldown his skills.

I get ArPen Marks, Quints and seals of AS and AP per level Glyphs.

This set make Skarner a lot more offensive and with a dagger, more quick to attack in early game. The Glyphs helps the AP improvement in late game.

I use 21/0/9 raising the offensive side and using the utility to put a point in the buff duration expand.


Edit: Now with the new masteries I chose to improve the ability power and offense, putting only 6 points in defense do raise a little from the start game.

This way, in the early game your DPSkarner will be more offensive and strike harder!

Dagger + mana Pot = you will use a lot of your skills in early game, you need the mana potion to keep laning a little more.
Berserkers - For movement and atack speed. You can exchange for Mercury Treads against CC or Ionian to help the CDR.
Tear of the Goddess - This will solve all your mana problems, and late build in a manamune. Also, with the constant spawn of the skills you'll quickly feed the bonus mana.
Malady - More AS and some AP. Also, it can shred the opponents MR. You can exchange it for Guinsoo or Hextech Gunblade.
Manamune - More damage and mana. You can also transform the Tear into an Archangel, If you wanna to focus on AP for Lich Bane Later.
Nashor's Tooth - Attack Speed and CDR to help you constantly use Exoskeleton and fracture.
Rabadon - Raise your AP levels to increase the skills damage/shield/recover.
Lich Bane - some MR and also increase the damage of your attacks. If causing damage isnt a problem and you want to focus in resist, you can exchange for a Banshees against CC or Guardian Angel for more Armor and MR.

Last Resort Item - In late games, you can also exchange Berserks for Wits End for more damage and AS. Other options are PD or Trinity Force (If you aren't using Lich Bane).

Skill Sequence

Focus first on Exoskeleton for AS and Shielding, with a good cooldown and high AS you will never stop using it, constantly gaining shield and 50% of AS

Second is Fracture. Also, this is why you doenst need too much of a LS or Spellvamp items. Using it with high AP levels can grant enormous amounts of healing.

Crustal Slash is the last skill to level up, the reason is that you will rely in it when your AP levels are over 350-400 to count on the second hit (the one that uses AP% as damage plus), to farm minions and cause more extra damage against champs).

Impale - Your "don't run away from me noob" tool. When hitting hard make enemies run away, Impale is what keep your kill count. Always good to drag champs under the turrets or break formations in teamfights. Also, with full build you can almost cause 1K of damage with it.

Energize - The whole focus of this build. Always be sure to hit as many times you can and keep mana in the stock to use your skills!

Summoner Spells

I usually goes with Flash to evade ganks or giving the enemy champ a last killing blow, and exhaust, more to reduce enemy damage than slow them, for this you have impale.

Good choices also are:

Clarity and TP = To solo lane.

Ignite - To prevent healing.

Smite - To junglers.
