Champion Build Guide
Doran's blade is the standard opener, take this if you are not sure what to start with.
Doran's shield is the best opener against champions who do "tick damage" (ex Teemo poison , Garen E , etc).
Corrupting pot is less common of an opener for Trundle. It brings no stats to the table but it is good against champions who are looking out trade or poke you out of lane. Keep in mind that this item will make it more difficult to farm minions than the other openers.
Tiamat is a must for Trundle, when I first started playing him I never built Tiamat items. When I first decided to try it, I was shocked at the value it brought to the table! It provides that essential lane pushing power that Trundle needs to do what he does best (burst towers)! You often want to start Tiamat and build something else. Sometimes it is the right choice to build into a full Ravenous Hydra or Titanic Hydra. Both are good options for Trundle.
Trinity Force and Blade of the Ruined King are both optional second items. After the buffs, BotRK is often better than Tri Force. I still take Tri Force second if I am playing against squishier champions and few tanks. Keep in mind, if you take BotRK you may not want to fight without its active available!
Trundle can only build 2 offensive items before he starts falling off, unless he is snowballing. You have to choose between these items if you are even or behind. If you are behind then it is probably best to skip to a tank item after finishing Tiamat.
These items are what I highly suggest building after the essential items, Trundle can usually get away with 2 offensive items before needing to get some tank stats.
Spirit Visage is often considered to be an essential item on Trundle. The reason for it is because it provides %30 bonus healing! This stacks with Trundle's passive and R . I actually build it before a second damage item in certain matchups. "But elfire2, why didn't you put Spirit Visage into the essential item's slot?" Well, Billy, that is because you don't want to build it into a full AD team, and if you don't build it every game it isn't essential. The healing you get from Spirit Visage in addition to your R makes this item a must build even if the enemy team only has 1 source of magic damage.
Randuin's Omen, AKA the bot lane fed again item. This item is really strong against most ADC champions as they usually build crit. I find myself building this item if I am ahead and the enemy bot lane is also ahead. It provides Trundle with a little sticking power and enough tankiness to survive the teamfight or catch the enemy bottom laner. This isn't always the best armor item to build but it is my go-to.
Warmog's Armor, THE tank item. This item isn't very good until it is about your 4th or 5th item but I recommend it because you will frequently find yourself walking out of teamfights with a sliver of health or besieging an enemy base only to get chunked by poke for your team. I suggest building this item with Titanic Hydra as it will increase the damage from Titanic Hydra's passive. This is a good mid-late game item that I suggest giving a shot.
Trundle is a unique champion in that he has so many options available to him when it comes to items. He doesn't build the same 4-5 items every game, he can build just about anything! There are a lot of items here so I will keep the descriptions brief.
Sterak's Gage: A solid choice if your are snowballing or need a little bit more damage later in the game.
Thornmail: A great choice against an AD heavy team or against a fed champion who uses a lot of auto attacks.
Frozen Mallet: A good mid-late game item if you find yourself unable to stick to a champion but can kill them. It is a good item to combo with items that don't give much health like Thornmail or Gargoyle's Stoneplate.
Wit's End: Nobody sees it coming! It is only good against an AP heavy team with little crowd control. It does work when paired with life-steal items though. It is worth noting that Maw of Malmortius is normally a better choice.
Gargoyle Stoneplate: THE teamfight item. If you know your team can't do anything without you tanking everything, build this item.
Iceborn Gauntlet: I have had good experiences building this item from behind, it makes you useful in a teamfight and can be good against an AD heavy team.
Frozen Heart: This is a powerful item. Korean Trundle players build this most of their games due to the sheer value of gold-to-stats ratio. Build it against an AD heavy team, get into a teamfight and peel for your carry.
Guardian Angel: I am fed, we are getting later into the game and don't want to give away my shutdown when I finally fall off.
Maw of Malmortius: I am fed, but so is their AP Carry. Sometimes a Hex Drinker will do the trick and is an excellent purchase if you don't want to commit to a full Maw.
Executioner's Calling: The Mundo item. Build this against anything that heals a ton.
Righteous Glory: I personally don't like building this item but you should if your team has really bad engage.
My guilty pleasure is taking Press the Attack instead of Conqueror , it's so good against squishier compositions and champions who want to take short fights in lane. unfortunately for me, Conqueror is just better.
I would like to point out that in the second row of the Precision tree any of the Legend stacks can be good. I pick Tenacity most games because Tenacity is a great stat on any juggernaut like Trundle. Alacrity is only good if you find yourself against many ranged attacks or ranged champions. It allows you to burst enemy mages slightly faster. I often find myself going to Bloodline if I am playing against a bruiser heavy composition with many skirmishes ahead.
In the third column I highly recommend taking Coup De Grace over Last Stand . The only time I would ever take Last Stand is if I knew I was going to be building life steal items.
Demolish is standard on Trundle as he is best at split pushing and rushing down towers. Sometimes it can be better to take another rune like Font of Life if you are going to team fight.
Sometimes I take Second Wind instead of Bone Plating if I am against more "tick damage" champions like Singed or Teemo . Notably, I don’t mention Conditioning because in the same slot Second Wind and Bone Plating , both of which are much better for Trundle. Trundle needs to snowball to have a major impact on the game. Trundle needs to be ahead by the time Conditioning kicks in.
Unflinching is the best choice of that row if you are starting Ignite . I highly recommend taking this if you are going to be team fighting frequently against a heavy CC team. Revitalize is a great choice if you are planning on team fighting with something like a Yuumi or Soraka on your team. Overgrowth is also a good mention as it scales very well into mid-late game, just don't expect to notice the difference it makes. These last few runes can be taken instead of Demolish for a better laning phase, or instead of Bone plating if you are confident in the matchup you are in.

There is a much more difficult trick you can pull off that typically results in a kill or a forced flash. I call it the Pillar Lock. The Pillar Lock has two major requirements. The first is for your opponent to position themselves near or against a wall. The second is for you to position your pillar not too close or too far from a wall. I suggest going into the practice tool and practicing the pillar lock against yourself or dummies. You can also do it against the scuttle crab in the river.

Currently I am working on the matchups as it is something that most players look for when they are learning a champion.
I intend on adding more to the advanced tricks such as pillar positioning and when to use subjugate.
I then would like to add a bio tab so you know more about me and my experience on the big troll.
Then I would polish so the whole thing looks nicer than it is, I am currently cleaning up some grammatical errors.
