Introduction of Myself

Hello guys, I am a Platinum tier Fizz main who started playing league of legends at the beginning of season 4. I climbed my way through Bronze and Silver to end the season at Gold. Throughout my climb I tried many different champions; however, the champion that I found to be the most fun to play and easiest to carry my team with is Fizz. I'm not going to claim to be the best Fizz NA but I like to think through my time of playing him I have learned a lot of his tricks and would like to think that I have mastered the champion. Through out this guide I'll explain some things that I have learned and a couple of tips and tricks to make the most out of Fizz's kit. I spent a lot of time in this guide, so if you wouldn't mind please feel free to leave a comment of what I did well or could have done better. Thanks and enjoy!

About the Build

RIP DFG nukage. Now the focus is on doing insane amounts of damage with your Seastone Trident
Focus on Cool down reduction and on your on hit DOT from your Seastone Trident is the key to success! xD
Back to Top

Runes

My runes are a pretty standard set of AP assassin runes
Greater Mark of Hybrid Penetration Are the best fit to do tons of damage in the late game with your autos amped by your Seastone Trident.
Greater Seal of Scaling Health scale incredibly well into late game.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resisthelp with early game AP harass.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power are for giving you the early game damage to successfully trade with your opponent.

These runes will vary based on your opponent. For instance if I am laning against an AD mid, I will run Hybrid Pen Reds, Armor Yellows, Flat AP blues, and Flat AP quints.

Masteries

Double-Edged Sword Since you are melee you deal and additional 2% damage which gives you that much more burst.
Expose Weakness Your engage Chum the Waters procs this to deal an extra 1% damage for the next 3 seconds, also if you pile that on to the active on Deathfire Grasp you increase you magic damage by a considerable amount for your entire combo.
Mental Force Increases your scaling AP. (obvious plus)
Arcane Mastery Gives you a flat AP boost. (another obvious plus)
Brute Force Gives you extra AD to help to give you extra damage from your autos. (Your autos do alot of you damage with this build, obviously xD)
Arcane Blade Deals 5% of you AP as magic damage on every auto attack. (Huge Late game)

All of these masteries are geared to increase you flat burst and help this build scales incredibly well into late game.

Items

Morellonomicon is an essential item for this build, it gives you an insane amount of burst that goes great with all of the runes/masteries set up within the build. The key component to the build.

Zhonya's Hourglass The insane amount of AP and defense that Zhonya's give you is too much too pass on, also the active give you an unreal amount of survivability with the CDR in the build. The active lasts 2.5 seconds: in most cases this is just enough for your Playful / Trickster to come off cooldown giving you the ability to survive insane dives.

Rabadon's Deathcap INCREDIBLE amount of AP to do TONS of damage.

Void Staff Shreds through opposing champion's magic resist.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity Gives you 15% Cooldown reduction that builds off the 5% from your runes/masteries to give you 20% alone. Essential.

Depending on the game you will want to build a Guardian Angel if they are more AD heavy and you need the passive; (especially late as this allows you to make up for overly aggressive play) or Banshee's Veil Against AP heavy teams.

Other Viable Items include

Abyssal Mask Great item if you are facing alot of AP burst damage such as Diana and Annie.

Luden's Tempest Alot of flat AP, great added bonus for move speed. Good item to buy with Lich Bane to split push.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter Good item if you want to be a bit tanky and have the utility slow for your team.

Nashor's Tooth A bit on the troll side, but gives you a ton of damage off your autos. Only buy this is if you are stupidly far ahead.

Skill Sequence

Chum the Waters Max first as it is your ultimate and provides great Crowd Control (CC) and damage.
Seastone Trident Max second for the increased DOT and extra damage off auto attacks.
Playful / Trickster Max third, for the CD and it provides the most burst damage in Fizz's kit.
Urchin Strike After the Fizz's nerfs early in Season 5, this ability is almost entirely used for its utility. (R.I.P. DFG nuke Fizz :()

Ability Combos

The main combo to know on Fizz is Chum the Waters, Seastone Trident, Urchin Strike, Playful / Trickster This is your basic combo that will be used to assassinate your target. When going all in, be sure to activate your Seastone Trident before using your Urchin Strike as your Urchin Strike apply's on hit effects such as the active on your Seastone Trident

However, in different situations you can find yourself benefiting from multiple combos, one trick is to Urchin Strike through a minion to gap close, drop your health on a low health enemy and Playful / Trickster out of their attacks to finish them, an example is provided here..

Unique Skills

Jumping over walls is one of Fizz's strongest advantages.

Playful / Trickster is you friend Utilize it!

Don't forget, you can also E to avoid taking turret aggro, making dives extremely easy.

Team Work

Your job in each team fight is to blow us the enemy carry. Try your best to delete the carry and get out alive to clean up, you do this by utilizing your Playful / Trickster and Zhonya's Hourglass to escape from sticky situations.

Here is an example of how you want to utilize your abilities and items to lean team fights in your favor..

Granted, I only killed Lucian and died right afterwards. Had I not been so aggressive I would have been able to wait out some of their crowd control to not get blown up as fast as I was. But I took the risk because Lucian was their only hope for winning the fight. Taking Lucian out of the fight before it started won us the team fight. Also as you notice, the enemy team blew alot of their CC and abilities on me which allowed my team mates to have a huge advantage.
