Champion Build Guide
Kalista is a very unique champion and is VERY fun to play after you learn her. If you get good you can easly outplay many oponents even if you are behind. This guide is for top and bot but you can also play her mid. If she starts getting a bit boring for you i recommend trying out new runes and builds. I myself have tried every single runepage on her and every build you could think of. Im not going to tell you wich ones works and with does not since experemeting on you own is really fun.
PROS
+ Very good after you learn her + Very unique and fun to play + Has the 1v5 carry potential + Easy to secure kills (So you teammates cant ks from you ^^) + Great to duo q with a friend + Best kiting in the game + A lot of mobility + Getting fed = easy pentakills + Infinite skill ceiling (there is always something to learn and improve at) |
CONS
- Weak early game - Depends on you support early game - Hard to pick up - Squishy |
In the Precision tree it's more complicated
Triumph - Overheal - Legend: Alacrity - Coup de Grace
All of these runes are good and since you can take only 2, choose them at the begining of the match depending on the enemy team comp and the build you are planning on doing.
- Almost always take heal on adc. Its great and can save you a lot.
- Main spell for top lane
- Second best spell for top lane. Great if you need a bit distance from your oponent and you fell like you wont need tp
- Ok for bot lane and sometimes top lane. If your support takes heal barrier it can be great.
STARTING ITEM
90% of the time you want to take Doran's Blade. Vs hard range poke Doran's Shield is usually better.
FIRST REAL ITEM
I usually rush Berserker's Greaves since they give you both movement speed (you hop a longer distance) and atack speed.
MYTHIC ITEM
Then choose one of the 3 mythic items -
- I think this is the best Kalista mythic item and usually build it. You get everything you want... Atack speed, lifesteel, and both it's passives give you A LOT
- Take it if the enemy team has a lot of tanks .
- Not the best since it gives average atack speed average damage and a average passive. Buy it mainly if you need a long jump to dodge a cc.
CORE
Then always get Runaan's Hurricane it's the perfect item on kalista for teamfights. It let's you stack you spears on many targets at once.
NEXT 3 ITEMS
- Great for tanks since it slows and deals extra damage based on their health
- Buy if you feel like you need more life steal
- Great with Blade of the Ruined King + deals a lot of damage
- Great against champions that heal a lot
- Good item thanks to the passive BUT if you are the only fed person on your team i dont recommend it - If they focus you in a teamfight and you die early in the 4 second (that it takes you to revive) your team will probably die and you will get insta focused, stunned and die instantly
- Saves you from strong cc
- Similiar to Blade of the Ruined King. It's better vs armored tanks
- Can save you from a very fed enemy mage (or any ap champion)
- Good vs squishy enemy's and also it helps while executing enemys with Rend
There are A LOT of cool things you can learn and use to bully your oponents
Q + FLASH
- If you use Pierce(Q) and immediately flash the ability will start from your new position and you will skip most of the animationWALL JUMP
- You can hop threw thin walls with you passive. You can do this buy either autoatcking or using Pierce(Q)RESETING YOUR Rend(E) WITHOUT KILLING YOUR OPONENT!?
- To do this put a spear on your enemy and on a minion. When the minion is low hp use your Rend(E) to kill it. By doing that you also slow and damage you oponent.THROW UNLIMITED SPEARS!!!
Your Pierce(Q) passes threw enemys if it kills them. It also takes all the stacks you had on the thing you killed onto the next target. That means if you are doing your enemy jg buff (or your teammates buff if you got the ballz) and you put 20 spears on the monster (Monster - XD didin't want to call it a buff twice in one sentence) and the 0/10 enemy jg (that you are bullying all game) comes close to it AND you kill the buff (**** I did it) with your Pierce(Q) AND the ability hits him, you will transfer all you stacks on to him AND one shot his sh** as*
NEVER GET COUNTER PICKED ON TOP
- As you might have noticed there are quite a lot top lane champions that counter you. To not get recked on lane ask your adc to ban a champion of your choice and you ban their champion (yes- THEIR CHAMPION (i mean the champion they want ofc)). This will mislead your enemy laner into not knowing what to pick since he thinks your the adc. Use this of course only when your adc picks after you.Utilizing all these tips and getting used to your passive is exacly what what makes a great kalista. All of the tips above will help you a lot and make your enemys day a lot worse ^^
I put A LOT of time into this guide and if you think there is anything to improve or add please let me know. I am also planning to add what supports you are bad against in the near fure ^^
I would also like to thank my local pizza place for making and delivering my dinner today. It was great and helped a lot while writing this guide.
That's it! Gl in you games
