Thanks for your comment. Call me stubborn, but I do not play Lux like everyone else and I guess I am stuck in that rut. Yay for tradition! I'm just sharing the way I play Lux the way I always have and if you like it, yay! If you hate it, that's fine. It works for me, hopefully it works for others.

Boots +3 works fine! Just learn to manage your mana and dodge, sir. Also, there is rumor if not truth of a 5 potion cap coming, so I didn't bother to include that.

Chalice of Harmony, I don't always rush it, and I would assume that if you rush it you would turn it into Athene's Unholy Grail anyway. It's hard to go wrong with stacking Doran's Ring. You get more for your money and I frankly prefer the ability power, health, and you get mana regen too. You can sell them back later after you've snowballed.

As for runes, look past the ones I have provided as recommended. I also suggested Magic Resist Glyphs. I like the scaling ap because I aim for more offense than defense in my stats. However, I sometimes run the magic resist against the ap assassins.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is not the best, but is still on the list because the slow is triggered after your Lucent Singularity explodes as well as the slow it provides. Therefore, you can think of it as a double slow. It can be nice at times, but it is not a core item for sure.

I mentioned cooldown reduction under Deathfire Grasp and Ionian Boots of Lucidity, so you can not say that I "never talked about it." I was going to write a section on it, but school got busy. :p

The debate over starting Q vs starting E is down to a preference. In my personal experience, I have never let my jungler gank when I did not have my Q. I find that starting E gives you more map utility since you can scout the map since I like to invade. Argue all you want, maybe it is better, but you're going to hit level 2 in a minute or so anyway. I like my E.

As for minimal coding, I am a college student first and a build writer way down the list. I do this in my spare time. This build probably won't even be near the top, but that's what professional writers like TSM and Curse are for. I'm just showing an opinion. Not to mention, this is my first guide. :D

Thanks for your advice. I'll get to it if I can.

  • Boots + 3 pots start isn't viable anymore for s spawn start. I suggest mana regen 4 red pots and 2 wards, or 9 red pots 2 wards
  • Chalice of Harmony where is it? you prefer dorans over it? lol that makes no sense.
  • runes makes no sense. why scaling mana regen when you're getting an Athene's Unholy Grail as a core item...why scaling ap and not mr glyphs, epecially on a champion that has no escape and squishy early game..basically any ap assassin can 100-0 you if they get lvl 6 before you while you don't have mr glyphs.
  • Rylai's Crystal Scepter is totally useless on Lux. Arguably the Worst Item you can get on Lux for sure. Her Q snares, which overlaps the slow's duration. Her E has natural slow. Why rylai then...
  • CDR is a key stat on Lux yet you never talked about it.
  • Always start Q at lvl 1. Your jungler might gank at lvl 2 and if you land the snare you'll have forced the enemy's flash.
  • Lux is one of the safest mids. Even when countered you can do well in lane if played right.
  • minimal coding

Ah well....rework your guide.

Thank you for your encouraging comment! I really appreciate it since I do all this on the side and never expect anyone to read it! Lich bane is a personal preference and note that I am making this guide on how I prefer to play Lux. I did add Deathfire Grasp to the Other Items section because I will use it over Lich bane if I am going for CDR. Since I am obviously biased and love the idea of soloing baron for shiggles with a mage, that's why it's there. Plus I do not want to look like every other guide on the planet! Thank you for your time! :D

Hi there. First off, I want to congratulate you on fully completing your guide before publishing it! Many people publish their guides unfinished and they're just a pain to read because..they're NOT FINISHED. So good job on that.

Onto the build. I agree with most of the stuff you put into the cheatsheet and items section. One thing I want to point out is that by going for that lich bane in the late game (I assume you're getting it later in the game since it's last on your cheatsheet and not usually seen as viable for lux early game) you are hurting the amount of AP burst that you could possibly have. The good thing about lich bane is that it will stack with your passive (I think) and will give you great DoT; however, by replacing lich bane with deathfire grasp, you'll be getting an additional 50 AP that your wouldn't have with lich bane AND your ulti would be on a lower cooldown so you would have more of that AP damage output. I can see lux using both of these items but, if it were me (which it's not so feel free not to do this), I would put the deathfire grasp up into the main items section along with lich bane with an explanation of the pros and cons of each item. This will help newer lux players find their own preferences and builds. Another thing about that build section is that your "Other Items" section could easily be labeled "Situationals" and could be added to. For example, you could move GA down to this section and maybe add Morellonomicon to that kind of situationals section. This is me just being picky so feel free not to do these exact things.

Finally, your overall format and coding and grammar in the guide is pretty nice. Some better coding could be used in the summoner spells section, make those a little bigger. Also, going more into the matchups between lux and other champions could be helpful if you felt like taking some time to do that. Additionally, adding some laning tips could be helpful to players who, like most newer-to-lux players, are running OOM pretty early. This section could go into the early game harass and kill and even CS farm to the mid game team fights and where lux should be positioned in these teamfights. Now all the things I put in this long response are things that you really do not HAVE to do but you could do them and would probably receive some really good ratings. Really nice guide though. Definitely +1

You're a cheeseball. o_O

If you don't have mana regeneration runes yet, take this over Ignite. Otherwise, it's not needed.

Seriously? I think the whole sentence is wrong.
