Passive
Thousand Cuts
Gwen's basic attacks deal bonus on-hit magic damage based on a percentage of her enemies' maximum health. Basic attacks against champions will heal her for some of the damage dealt.

Q
Snip Snip!
Gwen rapidly snips her scissors between two and six times, dealing magic damage in a cone. At a minimum, Gwen will snip twice, adding one snip per basic attack Gwen has landed on an enemy (up to four for a total of six).

Enemies in the center of each snip take true damage, as well as the bonus magic damage from Thousand Cuts.

Hallowed Mist
Gwen spins up the Hallowed Mist to surround her for five seconds, gaining some armor and magic resist when in it. Enemies outside the Mist cannot target Gwen or hit her with any abilities. The mist will move to follow Gwen the first time she tries to leave it, but will dissipate the next time.

E
Skip 'n Slash
Gwen dashes a short distance and empowers her attacks with increased range, speed, and on-hit magic damage for four seconds. Attacking an enemy during this time refunds 50% of this ability’s cooldown.

R
Needlework
Gwen can cast Needlework up to three times, but needs to hit an enemy within 8 seconds to unlock each subsequent cast. Each cast fires needles in a line that deal magic damage, slow enemies, and apply Gwen's Thousand Cuts bonus magic damage.

The first cast will fire one needle, the second will fire three, and the final cast will fire five, for a total of nine needles and nine applications of Thousand Cuts to enemies hit.

Playing the early game requires a focus on farming efficiently, trading effectively, and establishing lane dominance when possible.

Prioritize last-hitting minions to accumulate gold and experience. Gwen scales well with items, so farming effectively in the early game is crucial to reaching her power spikes later on.

Utilize Thousand Cuts to enhance her basic attacks after using an ability. Look for opportunities to trade with your opponents when you have passive stacks available to maximize your damage output. Be mindful of enemy cooldowns and positioning to avoid unfavorable trades.

Gwen's abilities have moderate mana costs, especially in the early levels. Avoid excessive spamming of abilities and focus on using them strategically to conserve mana for important engagements or escapes.

Utilize Snip Snip! for Poke and Waveclear. Snip Snip! serves as both a poke tool and a waveclear ability. Use it to harass your opponent from a distance or to quickly clear waves when needed.

Hallowed Mist creates an area of mist around her that blocks enemy auto-attacks and grants her bonus attack speed. Use this ability to zone enemies away from minions or to mitigate incoming damage during trades. Position yourself strategically to maximize the effectiveness of the mist zone.

Keep an eye on the minimap and be aware of the enemy jungler's potential gank paths. Ward key areas of the map to provide vision and avoid overextending without vision or backup from your own jungler.


By focusing on these key aspects, you can establish a strong foundation in the early game with Gwen, setting yourself up for success as the game progresses.

Transitioning into the midgame with Gwen in League of Legends involves capitalizing on her strengths in skirmishes and teamfights while continuing to focus on farm and map control.

As the laning phase ends, prioritize securing objectives such as turrets, dragons, and Rift Herald with your team. Use your waveclear and dueling potential to pressure lanes and create opportunities for your team to take objectives.

With her strong dueling capabilities and mobility, Gwen can be an effective splitpusher in the midgame. Apply pressure in side lanes while your team groups elsewhere on the map, forcing the enemy team to respond to your splitpush or risk losing objectives.

Help your team establish vision control around key areas of the map, such as objectives and jungle entrances. Warding and denying vision can provide valuable information and set up picks or favorable teamfights.



In teamfights, position yourself to maximize your damage output while staying relatively safe. Look for opportunities to engage with your team or flank the enemy backline to disrupt their carries. Use Hallowed Mist to mitigate incoming damage and create chaos in teamfights.

Prioritize high-value targets such as enemy carries or squishy champions with Needlework ultimate and Snip Snip!. Focus on dealing sustained damage while weaving in and out of combat to avoid being focused down by the enemy team.

If your team has a fed or vulnerable carry, use your crowd control abilities to peel for them and protect them from enemy threats. Hallowed Mist can provide a safe zone for your carries to reposition and deal damage from a protected position.

Adjust your playstyle and build based on your team composition and the enemy team's strengths and weaknesses. Whether you need to be a frontline bruiser or a backline diver, adapt your playstyle accordingly to maximize your impact in teamfights.
