Introduction
For runes, you will want flat AD runes because Irelia is a AD champion. You also need flat armor seals, the armor will help Irelia survive ganks! You must have Magic Resist per level glyphs, whenever there is a teamfight, there will always be a couple of champions who deals magic dmg, so you will need the Magic Resist to survive!
For masteries, go for 9/21/0, for the offense tree, you will only want the AD (stated above), for the defense tree, you want 21 points in it because you can get the CC reduction, which is very good because of Irelia's passive: Ionian Fervor( which reducers almost all CC affects), the utility tree is useless for her.
You want to start with Doran's Blade, 1 health pot and a ward. If you want sustain, go with Crystaline Flask, and a few health pots. For boots, go with mercery treads if you have problem with the CC the opponents, if your having trouble with your opponents AD, buy a Ninja Tabi, if you don't have a problem with any of them, buy Mercery Treads. Your core is Trinity Force, its very expensive but be sure to get the Phage first. After I buy my core and boots, I rush Randuin's Omen because it provides a lot of defense, after that I buy wit's end for some Attack Speed, I buy Guardian's Angel after that and finish my build with Spirit Visage.
For your skills, you should get your Q at level 99% of the time, but if your opponent is very aggresive, get your E first as you can stun/slow the, you must max your W (whenever you hit someone with your auto attack, you gain back Health), you want to max your E second as it can do a 2 second slow/stun at max rank, then of course your ultimate ( Which can be leveled up at levels 6, 11 and 16), then finally your Q which is a last hitting/chase ability.
Irelia's Q is BladeSurge, when you activate the ability you dash to your selected target dealing physical damage, if bladesurge kills the target, bladesurge's cool-down is refreshed and you gain back 35 mana or else the CD will be very long. Irelia's W is Hiten Style, it passively gives Irelia health back when she attacks with a basic attack, when you activate the ability, Irelia's attack deal true damage and heals more. Her E is Equilibrium Strike, it slows the target, if the target has more health than Irelia, she stuns the target for the same duration. Her ultimate is Transedent Blade, Irelia summons out 3 Spirit Blade, each of the blade heals for a percent of Irelia's HP.
