Work in Progress

This build is no where near complete. I accidently published it so just dont read it. Maybe use the masteries/runes/items but that is all

Introduction

Hello, welcome to my first build guide. At initial creation, it won't be too in depth but I will work on it more and more as I think of what I can add. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave some constructive criticism :D I would also like to take this time to say that I am British and will use British spellings of words so if you don't like it, [accent=British]that's a down right pity.[/accent]

The outcome

By the end of this guide I aim for you to have learnt your way around the spider queen. This build you will have is for a powerful late game but, you may have some trouble early game

COLOURS YAAAY! (yes I'm British)

Just to make things more obvious at a glance I've decided that this guide shall be colour coded. It isn't necessary but it is pleasing to the eye.

Green = Item

Red = Ability

Blue = Champion

Pros / Cons

Pros Cons
  • Really squishy as full AP carry
  • Becomes incredibly vulnerable when abilities are misused
  • No real escape functionality when running from large groups
  • Harass pushes lanes

Y U NO LEVEL ULTI AT 11

You are probably thinking that "I'm some dumbass punk who's got no clue what he's doing". Where you may be right in some aspects, here I know what I'm doing. Basically, I dont feel that you gain enough from levelling up Spider Form / Human Form. I take it once for the extra spiderling but they aren't really needed until late game team pushes. You are much better off with the extra points in Neurotoxin / Venomous Bite

Items

For any AP carry there are many different viable builds but here is my choice of items and a few little things about why I think they are good

Sorcerer's Shoes are pretty much an essential for any AP caster. Some may argue in favour of Ionian Boots of Lucidity but with Elise one can easily chain together a solid 8 abilities without stopping (excluding Spider Form / Human Form). Also the Sorcerer's Shoes help add to the fear factor of her burst even if they build magic resist. It will also save you buying as much magic penetration in other items and allows you to focus them to being much flatter AP.

Rod of Ages is an item that, personally, I use on almost all of my AP carries. It not only provides a hefty amount of ability power (plus the extra you gain every minute) it also provides some more survivability. The extra mana it provides is not fully essential because Elise, when low on mana, can easily just use Spider Form / Human Form and have abilities that don't use mana. The extra mana with Rod of Ages I see more as an added benefit so you can use your human spells more. You are also going to want to make sure you take Rod of Ages early so you can get max stacks on it's passive as soon as possible.

This item is for the aggressive Elise player. It allows you to hunt down your prey with ease with its passive slow functionality. Just hit a standard combo (explained later) and let you, alone or with your team, pile in and enjoy the feast. When building up to this item I prefer to buy Giant's Belt first: it allows you to survive that bit longer and is usually picked up at the 'early teamfights stage' where you are going to want to be, you know, alive.

Abyssal Mask is an item that I think is debatable. When in human form you don't really get the extra effect of its passive because the abilities are more ranged harass. It's also arguable that you don't need the magic resist as you should be staying near the back of the fight but often I do find myself sustaining a reasonable amount of damage when I go Leeroy Jenkins and charge into the middle of the fight and there's always those 1v1 mage fights in which you both just mash your abilities in a wild panic. I finally decided on this item as it comes in handy when in spider form and allows you, and your team, to deal that extra damage and have that edge you need. I normally don't take this item if I have an aggressive tank with it because I'm pretty sure the passive aura doesn't stack. This item can be replaced by a Zhonya's Hourglass

The Lich Bane is usually an item you see on Hybrids that focus more on AP. This guide doesn't build Elise as a hybrid but I think it's an item that is useful on her Spider spells. It causes her to deal *enter Phreak* tons of damage (an extra 472 damage when full build) upon basic attacking after an ability. If you chain your abilities right you can get three of those in a row during spider form, that's a bonus of 1416 damage. People who dont take this item on Elise are just right out dumb. This information is according to what the guide has told me but upon revision may not be correct. I will try to get some actual numbers at a later date

This item is any AP carry's gift. It gives you a solid 140 AP followed by a 30% ability power increase. This can usually bring your end AP up into high 400's. Seriously, no AP carry is complete without one. Alot of people will take this item earlier and feel free to do so if you want but, personally I just prefer to take it later on.

Elixirs. That is all. When you finish your entire build you will always end up being sat on a **** ton of gold. Why sit on it when you can spend it on 3 different mini buffs. The elixir of fortitude is also a useful counter to Karthus's Requiem at any time of the game. Have it in your inventory and when you see that red beam coming down at you just hit
