From a previous Rakan OTP, I've got some suggestions that might help you out! For the build, I was wondering why you don't consider the Essence Reaver build which is more prevalent; blade -> essence reaver -> rapid firecannon -> inf edge -> another zeal item or defensive item like QSS and berkserk's of course. What do you think of this build?
I'm not a crazy passionate Xayah player by any means (though my ADC loves to play her) so what I really want to dig into is not the build but the guide itself. I think it's got a lot of potential and it already looks quite nice, but I have a few ideas that you could incorporate to make it look nicer.
1. Get rid of banner fade:
with the new guide layout that you're using, you have the option of inserting a banner in a box in the chapter box.. this.. but when you do that, the banner fades out at the bottom. This can look nice if you're just using a regular image with no text but when you make your own banners (like you did) then that somewhat ruins the banners. I would, instead, not use their built-in banner thing and just put the image in the big chapter text box like so:
2. Centered text is a no-no
I would reserve the center command for titles, images and videos and that's it. Even making a list like in your Strengths and Weaknesses kind of looks displeasing to me because they don't start or end at the same point (in terms of length). Instead of centering sentences individually (which is what you get with the center command), you can center a block of text. You do this by making a column and putting for example 50-100 pixels on each side of the text.
I'd get rid of centered text in the pros and cons, ability rundown, items. Also a small digression; it should be "League of legends piqued my interest during Season 3" rather than "I piqued" etc since that'd mean you interested League rather than the other way round :)
3. Colour schemes are OP
IMO one of the easiest ways to make a guide aesthetically pleasing is to choose a colour scheme and stick to it throughout the entire guide. You picked out a nice purple for your dividers and titles but you don't use it in your banners and you ocassionally use green and red and blue here and there. I would pick one or two colours that synergize well and stick to them for the whole guide, using various shades so as to avoid monotony. I would personally pluck out the beautiful dark pink from your banner and pair it up with the pale gold from the banners' text and stick with those two throughout the guide - pink for highlights, dividers etc and gold for text.
4. MOAR space
A clumpy guide tends to look worse than one that's very spacious. Between all bodies of text, dividers and images you should have two "Enter"s of space so it's nice and vast.
5. BIGGER titles
You can use the size code to make bigger titles for all your needs. I'd go with size 4 or 5 for the ability names, runes, items and combo names. . Avoid using the header code if you do anywhere because it barely enlarges the text and makes it bold and fat which doesn't always looks great.
Outside of the aesthetics I think there are other ways of improving the guide itself and by that I mean you could use more information here and there. The ability section is pretty lacking for one, it's quite short and often it's the section that new players are most eager to read. The pros and cons are great but it'd benefit the readers if you could expand on some of the strengths or weaknesses, or perhaps explain how to work around the weaknesses in brief. Images would be great in the rune section, like a picture from the client. It's nice that you explain the core options for your items, but most guides prefer to go "chronologically" with their item builds and I think that's a better option; i.e.:
If you have time, consider expanding on your gameplay section. Some things that might be useful: What to do when you're behind in the laning phase? How to secure a lot of farm? How to farm after the laning phase? What should you focus on in team fights? Perhaps you can expand upon the concepts of orb walking, kiting, wave management and so forth.
I think that's everything that's on my mind. All in all I really like your guide and I hope you will consider expanding on it :) Have a lovely day!
Thanks for the constructive criticism, as this is a lot to take in, it might take me a long while to analyze it and take some of the suggestions. Regarding the
you're very welcome, let me know if you need any help implementing anything!
Thank you for the reply, I will consider including that kind of guide design when I update for patch 9.11. Thank you! :D
I found your guide today and I have to say I really love your title. Well I love puns so yeah. ^^
Anyway, I think this guide is really neat and has the most crucial things, such as runes, items (love that you gave them little nicknames ;)) and game phases in it while you explain everything right to the point. Well done!
I just happened to notice that there's only 8 synergies in your match up section. General
Well done and +1 from me! :)
Cheers, Wicked Cherry.
Thanks for the super positive feedback! Regarding the synergies part of the guide, I'm planning to add more to it when I have experience on working with other supports. I'll make sure to add more to it as soon as possible, thanks for spending your time to read my first ever guide, and the +1 too! :D
I really can't see anything wrong with the guide to be honest. Apart from one thing, As an actual
Other then that I like guide, great banners by the way. :)
Thank you for your feedback, and thanks for the compliment :D
I agree with you that
