Irelia Passive Ability
Introduction
Simply a must have. You need this for repositioning and chasing. Cannot be replaced.
This summoner allows you to get kills and win duels. Combined with the AD runes, kills are almost guaranteed with ignite in lane and will help you snowball your lane.
Another great alternative that I have been using lately is-
Teleport is great for a team style of play instead of going all out with ignite. Take teleport when you see that other lanes may need some unexpected tele ward ganks.
Max Hiten Style first for the nerfed lifesteal. Hiten Style is Irelia's main output of damage and sustain in the laning phase because of the lifesteal and true damage. Equlibrium Strike comes second because her stun and slow is needed to escape, set up ganks, or even turn the tides in a trade. Finally, Bladesurge is last because it is least priority during the laning phase. Transcendent Blades should be maxed at 6 11 and 16 obviously.
Bladesurge or Equilibrium Strike First?
If enemy team has a strong early jungle, get Bladesurge to jump to the jungler if he comes from behind.
If enemy team has a passive early jungle, get Equilibrium Strike for lane aggression.
At level 2, get whichever skill you did not choose at level 1, and max skills in order.
Each nearby enemy champion (to a maximum of three) reduces the effectiveness of Crowd Control on Irelia.
1 Champion: 10%
2 Champions: 25%
3 Champions: 40%
Irelia's passive and a pair of mercury treads makes her very hard to chase and CC down. This is the main reason why she is so agile and deadly.
Irelia dashes forward to strike her target for 20/50/80/110/140 (+1 per Attack Damage). If it kills the target, Bladesurge's cooldown refreshes and refunds 35 Mana.
Cooldown 14 / 12 / 10 / 8 / 6 seconds
Cost 60/65/70/75/80 mana
Range 650
My favorite skill. This move can be used in so many different ways. You can easily chase or run away with this sexy *** skill. This is mostly used for harassing and farming during the laning phase. However, do not spam it on every single minion to last hit because you will run out of mana extremely quickly. Keep in mind that Hiten Style + Bladesurge + Trinity Proc = 1 hit a caster minion. When dueling, use Hiten Style with Bladesurge for more damage.
Irelia's attack balances the scales, dealing 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+50% of ability power) damage and slowing the target by 60% for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds. However, if the target has a higher Health % than Irelia, then the blow stuns the target instead.
Cooldown 8 seconds
Cost 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 mana
Range 425
This is another amazing skill in Irelia's kit. It can quickly turn the tide of any 1v1 and allow you to destroy your opponent. I used to make Bladesurge but I realized that maxing Equilibrium Strike second is much more efficient because of the extra slow time. Take advantage of this skill when your HP is lower than your opponent's HP. You will get more hits off while the your opponent is stunned.
Irelia summons 4 spirit blades that she can fling to deal 80/120/160 (+60 of attack damage) (+50% of ability power) physical damage to enemies they pass through. She heals for 25% of that damage against champions and 10% against minions.
Cooldown 60 / 50 / 40 seconds
Cost 100 mana
Ah, Transcendent Blades. It used to heal for a stupid amount of damage but now it is only pretty much used to clear waves in one go and get some lifesteal. Learn to aim this skill and it can save your life when an enemy is fighting you. You can also shoot the blade while you are auto attacking and using skills so that helps even more in maximizing Irelia's damage.
