Major Threat after he hits Level 6. Try and get as many ganks as possible to set him back. Pray to God he doesn't get fed in meantime.
Ahri
If she misses her charm, she probably lost the trade. Beware of possible ganks, cuz if you don't pay attention to her E, they'll win trade 100% of the time.
Akali
She is very hard to win against, because of her W, you can't attack her, Q on her, nor anything, so be careful when you play against her.
Anivia
Very tough matchup because of her late-game power. Put her behind as much as possible, ask your jungler for camp.
Annie
You'll win most of the trades. Buy QSS here after she hits level 6, as her Ultimate does enormous damage when spawned, as she'll probably stun you before that.
Aurelion Sol
Very easy matchup unless you're against very skilled ASol player, in which you can take MR items and QSS.
Azir
Very very very tough matchup because of how he can poke you as much as he want, and he can easily escape from you, and possibly screw your kit when you want to engage.
Brand
Very annoying champion to play against because of amount of damage he can deal to you. Buy MR and ask for ganks.
Camille
Major threat. You will most likely lose your lane, but ask for ganks. Do not go close to walls.
Cassiopeia
Enormous damage, dodge her ult by looking behind.
Cho'Gath
Easy matchup before he hits level 6. You should be careful after that, as he is as tanky as many of the now broken champions, especially if he rushes Sunfire.
Corki
Annoying champion. Ask for ganks so you can set him behind, and make him ragequit.
Darius
Do not fight early game with him, you'll always lose, especially level 3 fights. His passive is much stronger than yours, so ask for ganks. Freeze wave close to your turret so he has to overextend to get to cs.
Diana
Not as tough as other AP champions on mid, though she can easily win trades with you if you're not careful enough.
Dr. Mundo
Go Kraken Slayer and Chempunk.
Ekko
Easy matchup if you go 1v1.
Fiora
Fiora's on the tougher part of your matchups. She can throw W if you use your E or R, so she can stun and possibly kill you. Try and bait her W out.
Fizz
Tough matchup because he can dodge everything you throw at him. Bait him out so he uses his E, so you can hit R and E on him easily.
Galio
Tough champion because of his taunt, his tankiness and how easy he can set up ganks. Be very careful against him.
Gangplank
He can use his oranges so he gets rid of your R slow and E stun, though if you are ahead, he won't be a big deal.
Garen
Use your W a lot here, so you can mitigate as much damage as possible.
Gnar
Annoying champion to play against, and very tanky. Ask for ganks.
Heimerdinger
He will win trades most of the times because of how annoying his kit is. Ask for ganks and pray to god he doesn't get double kill.
Illaoi
Pre-6 quite easy. When she ults you after 6, just use your W till max time, so you can mitigate as much damage as possible.
Jax
Major threat only because of his E.
Jayce
Very annoying champion, can poke you a lot and has enormous damage early game.
Kassadin
He won't be a problem until late game, so set him back as much as possible. Ask for ganks too.
Katarina
On the tougher side post 6. Try and play safely against her, possibly freeze wave and poke her with AA when she comes to take her cs.
Kayle
It's Extreme when fed and post 16. It's Even early/mid game. Land stun on her and she's probably gone.
Kennen
Annoying little rat. Play safely against him and ask for ganks as much as possible.
Kled
LeBlanc
Most of the times you can easily destroy LeBlanc if you're careful enough.
Lissandra
She can render your kit useless because of her kit. Be careful when playing against her as she can deal enormous damage and survive.
Lux
Bait out and/or dodge her Q and E, and you'll be fine.
Malphite
Easy pre 6, be a little bit more careful post 6. He'll go tank because of you, not ap.
Malzahar
Very annoying champion to play against. Ask for ganks and buy QSS post 6.
Maokai
Tank. He's just so tanky. You can win with ganks and anti-tank items.
Mordekaiser
This big boy is just too strong for you because of his passive, W and Ultimate. Be careful when playing against him and ask for camp.
Nasus
Freeze wave close to your turret. Deny his CS. Punish him for taking CS with his Q. Late game, if you're NOT fed, is already lost.
Neeko
Very annoying to play against because of how her kit works. Be careful and look for possible clues of which one is a clone and which is real Neeko.
Olaf
Pre 6 easy, Post 6 be careful with E.
Orianna
Ornn
He's just too tanky.
Pantheon
He's getting nerfed in 10.25 so easy
Poppy
Rito why?
Pyke
Annoying brat.
Qiyana
Quite easy matchup, just use your W a lot.
Quinn
You can win if you're aggressive early.
Renekton
Your chances are close to 0. Ask for ganks and freeze wave.
Riven
Most of the times a Riven player you'll encounter is a Main, so freeze wave, poke with AA, and ask for ganks.
Rumble
Ryze
Late game Extreme.
Sett
Quite easy to beat, when he uses his W, either Q to something or use W to mitigate damage.
Shaco
Pinkward probably.
Shen
Very hard to 1v1 post 3. Your ultimate helps 1v1, because his doesn't.
Singed
Freeze wave and don't chase.
Sion
You can beat him, but be careful cuz he has a second life.
Swain
Annoying. Dodge his E and he'll probably lose trade.
Sylas
You can beat him. He's useless.
Syndra
When she ults, throw W.
Tahm Kench
Talon
When he ults, throw W.
Teemo
His Q is annoying. His Shrooms are annoying. He is annoying. Rito delete.
Tryndamere
Your ultimate counter. Can 1v1 you at any stage of the game, unless you're so ahead, at which point you should ask yourself why didn't you finish yet.
Twisted Fate
Annoying, but beatable. Close gap between you and easy.
Udyr
Trick2G, psycho.
Urgot
Just don't play against him.
Veigar
Use your W a lot and set him behind as much as possible.
Vel'Koz
When he ults you, HOLD YOUR F****NG W, *******IT.
Viktor
Very tough to play against. Be careful, ask for ganks or switch.
Vladimir
Easy champion to beat, just bait his W out and hit with E or R after.
Volibear
Wukong
It can be fake one.
Xerath
His poke is just so stupid that you can't win unless you close gap between you and ask your jg for help.
Yasuo
A little bit tougher if skilled, though you will win probably. Just close gap before ulting so his W doesn't stop it.
Yone
Just as his brother, but he's tougher. If he uses E, if possible. wait so he gets back on it.
Yorick
Very annoying, tanky and dealing high amount of damage, while mitigating same. Ask for ganks.
Zed
NOT Tough, but I personally ban him because of how he can dodge your abilities (His W and R)
Ziggs
Annoying! Just close gap and ask for ganks.
Zilean
You probably won't ever encounter him, but if you do, don't kill him after 6 if he uses ult, WAIT and kill him after he wastes it.
Zoe
High amount dealing, annoying Targon champion. W when she uses Q, dodge her E, and close gap after 6.
Playable Lanes: Top, Mid Powerspike: Mid-Late Game Cons: Hard to master, passive dependent Why Irelia - Brief Introduction Irelia is an Mid-Late game champion able to defeat every and any threat if ahead. Has great outplay potential and her Ultimate Vanguard's Edge makes any champion that wants to escape to suffer more from slow and damage.
Pros and Cons
Pros
+ Powerful late game + High sustain + High mobility + Enormous damage + Outplay potential
Irelia can be very powerful mid-late game, and you can carry 1v9 games most times with her, doing incredible 1v5 pentas and other stuff. Can demolish most champions with ease and, if she ults more people at once, she can stack her passive pretty quickly.
Cons
- Very easy gankable early - If you miss Q, you are actually dead in 99% of the cases. - Unable to escape easily without minion wave - High skillcap - Has 2 skillshots that if missed can change outcome to worse - Without her passive, she is weak
Irelia, unfortunatelly, has very High Skillcap, so most of the people will do bad with her. She can not escape without her flash or suitable minion wave to dash to, so she can get ganked easily. Has 2 skillshots (E,R) that, if missed, can lose her the fight.
Abilities
PASSIVE
ABILITY
Ionian Fervor (Passive): Irelia gains 1 stack of her passive for every ability that hits enemy champion, or last hitting - killing minions/epic monsters/ with Bladesurge. At full stacks, which is 5, she gains massive attack speed and deals bonus magic damage on hit.
Q
Bladesurge Q : Irelia's Bladesurge makes her able to dash to the opponent/minion and deals physical (+60% AD) damage and heals herself for % of her total AD. It deals bonus damage to minions. Cooldown resets if it kills target or if it consumes Mark.
W
Defiant Dance W : Irelia's Defiant Dance makes her stand still, blades allinged around her and she recieves reduced damage for 50% (+7% per 100AP). Second casting makes her swipe her blades in the direction, dealing physical damage (+50% AD, +45% AP) and increases up to 100% based on channel time.
E
Flawless Duet E : Irelia throws a blade towards the direction, which is there for 3.5s, and she can reactivate it to throw a second blade towards another location, stunning everything in between and marking them. It deals magic damage (+80% AP).
R
Vanguard's Edge R : Irelia launches bunch of blades at the cursors location, and after hitting champion they split and form a spade-shaped perimiter. Initial hit deals magic damage (+70% AP) to all opponents, and opponents that go through those blades recieve magic damage (+70% AP) and are slowed for 90% for 1.5s.

Currently this build is the most powerful on Irelia, both on Mid and Top, and I'll recommend it until meta shifts.
Runes
PRECISION
Conqueror is best rune for Irelia since you will get those 10 stacks pretty quickly and thus you will heal, alongside with heal from your q and your items, you will heal a lot.
Triumph will restore 12% of your health, which is very useful, actually more useful than any other runes here.
Coup de Grace deals extra damage to opponents with less than 40% of their Health, which means that you'll kill low-health opponents easier.
Other alternative here is Taste of Blood, but I think that Sudden Impact is better, since it gives you +7 lethality for 5s, after dashing to the opponent with your Bladesurge.
Ravenous hunter is, I think, better than any other here since Irelia needs extra heal while engaging opponents, which Ravenous Hunter does.
You shall go like this since this will give you extra attack speed, give some AD and some Armor to sustain more.
Spells
SUMMONER SPELLS -
FLASH: You should always go flash on Irelia, since You can easily escape or get closer to your opponents.
IGNITE: I always go Ignite on Irelia, both on Top and Mid, since it's great for trades and for killing opponents after engage.
TELEPORT: Top Irelia is the only place where Teleport is useful. On mid I'd recommend Ignite.
EXCAUST: Exhaust is the spell I'd recommend only against toughest of matchups, which aren't tanks, but ADCs and AA champions.
Tips
Here are some tips about how to and what to do while playing Irelia:
Never waste Defiant Dance, since you can sometimes survive because of it giving you reduced damage. You don't have to poke anyone with this ability. You can kill low-health running opponents because of it's range, but that's it.
Always throw Ultimate before Flawless Duet and remember to Dash and consume that mark from Ultimate.
About Me
My name is Mika. I played League of Legends since Season 5, in which I ended up being Platinum I on the account i unfortunatelly lost, since just after Season 6 started, I stopped playing League because of Personal stuff. After some years, Season 9 to be exact, I came back to playing League.
My first champion, which I always played a lot, was, a surprise, Pantheon. I got to around 100k mastery points on old Pantheon, and another 100k on the new, post-rework Pantheon. That account is now, unfortunatelly, perma banned but that's another story.
Other champions I love to play are Irelia, Swain, Lucian, Soraka, Aatrox, etc...
