In the first 5 minutes of the game you need to be really aggressive (depends on the matchup, but in most situations you must be able to do it). Your goal is to get first blood as soon as possible - poke your enemy until he is half his health and then all-in them with Exhaust - not only it will reduce the damage you take, but also boost your movement speed and slow your opponent's. This way you can catch up to him after he uses his Flash to run away. After the first blood dont waste time and convert your gold lead into item lead. Afterwards try to kill the enemy mid laner once again (or twice, if you are able to :D). Establish your lead and then you can begin to roam to other lanes in order to help your allies or just feed yourslef more and more.

If you have a lead, the game becomes fairly easy - play with the mechanics of an adc and a macro of a mid laner. If you are behind - try to play more passively and get some kills in teamfights, so you can get back in the game. Just dont forget that Jhin is a marksman - you must stay away from enemy assassins and cruise with your team in late game.

Long range lane poke - try to lower the 3 caster minions in the back of the wave and drop your Q Dancing Grenade in a way that you can hit the enemy mid laner with the 4th bounce. Then shoot your W Deadly Flourish to apply extra damage and then back off to avoid enemy long range abilities.

Close range lane poke - (in the best situation you are with 2 bullets left in your gun) you start with the long range poke combo, after the W Deadly Flourish auto attack them with the 2 remaining bullets (or the 4th bullet alone). You can still do this combo without the 4th bullet, but your damage output is not as high.

All-in combo - start with auto-attacking the enemy. As soon as you shoot your 4th shot, immediately drop Q Dancing Grenade, then W Deadly Flourish to stun them and deploy your ult Curtain Call as soon as you can to finish them off. Use Exhaust and Galeforce if necessary.


Note - always use your Galeforce before the 4th shot, if you use it offensively. Try to use your Q Dancing Grenade before the 4th shot, so you can take advantage of the missing health mechanic of Whisper.

E Captive Audience placement - you can use your E Captive Audience in choke points when your team contests the baron or a dragon . In laning phase you can use it directly on the lane to set up bursts or use it aggressively in the middle of a fight.

Its a good idea to use your E Captive Audience while running from an enemy - when you are going through a bush, place a trap inside of it (and a ward , if possible), wait for the enemy to step in it and then direcly stun them on top of the trap with your W Deadly Flourish. The damage of the trap is very high and this way you can turn the fight in your favour.

Jhin mid is a perfect choice for you if you:
1. Are sick of playing with an autofilled supp that types "can i mid" as soon as they join the lobby;
2. Can't stand the fact that the 0/4 enemy mid laner is still 2 levels ahead of you after the laning phase and is able to 1v1 you;
3. Are below plat - still doable in higher elo, but harder;
4. Love playing The Virtuoso.
