When using Katarina the best Masteries for you are 21/9/0. 21 points in offensive, because as Katarina your goal is to be aggressive as possible. 9 points in defense, Katarina is naturally a squishy champion and you need these points in defense. YOU DO NOT NEED ANY POINTS IN UTILITY! Katarina has such quick conforms on all her abilities, you can spam them without needing that small cooldown reduction bonus.

Sorcerers Shoes- These should be your first buy! These are the only boots that you should ever buy on Katarina. Katarina is very mobile you will never need Boots of Swiftness/Boots of Mobility.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter- This will be your second buy! This is essential on Katarina because she is naturally very squishy. So you need to get some health in this little girly. And it also helps that it comes with some AP so you still gain some mid game damage.

Void Staff- The legendary Void Staff is needed on literally ever AP character in the game. Although it only gives you 70 AP, you receive a high magic penetration as its passive.

Rabadons Deathcap- This item gives you an extremely high amount of AP, and its passive gives you +30% of your AP! Example:100AP(+30AP) 200AP(+60AP) 300AP(+90AP).

or Will of the Ancients vs. Hextech Gunblade
You can choose either one of these two selected items. They both have a passive of +20% spell vamp. And they both also have cooldown reduction. But how the cooldown reduction works is different. For the Hextech Gunblade it reduces the cooldown of all abilities by 3 seconds when an ability is used on a enemy champion. On Will of the Ancients the cooldown is automatically added directly after a spell is casted(-10% of the full cooldown). THESE TWO ITEMS ARE COMPLETELY. PERSONAL PREFERENCE!!

SITUATIONAL ITEMS (Last Buy)
If you are winning your game and you are doing well, BUY THIS.

If you are winning or losing (doesn't matrer) and they have both AD and AP champions on their team, BUY THIS!

If you are losing your lane against an AP champion, BUY THIS!

As Katarina you will want to max your "W" first. Followed by your "Q", and further on followed by your "E".

Katarina Combo's
By level 3 You should have all of your abilities (but ult, ofc) instead of just poking with your "Q" by now you can start doing a Katarina combo. What you what to do it "Q" the target "E" to them, and to finish off the combo "W" the target for the bonus movement speed. And start to return to farming.

Easy Escapes!
For quick and easy escape use your "E". You can Shunpo, all enemy champions, all enemy and allied minions, and even friendly wards. If you are trying to escape quickly you can place a ward over a wall and "E" to it. I recommend having both your key for wards and your "E" on quick cast. So you don't need to manually place the ward and then proceed to manually click the ward you just placed.

Farming is how you get Katarina SUPER FED! As long as you out farm your opponent you will win your lane. And it is extremely easy to farm with her. You want to use your "Q" to poke enemy champions and to last hit minions. Last hit minions with your "Q" because it has a farther range then your auto attack and it is good for getting the mager minions im the back.

A good combination for farming with her is with both “Q" & "W". First off throw your "Q" at the minions then get close enough to "W" them and use it. And if you are to close to the enemy champion you can "E" to your allied minions to escape the champions range.

Even at the double digits Katarina is still very weak in the jungle. You lose a lot of health from just killing wolves!
