Champion description.

Kog'Maw is a ranged AD carry that can also be switched out to be an AP carry middle. He has the longest attack range in the game if he uses his W ability and has some of the strongest poke. Kog'Maw also comes with a strong AoE slow and attack speed buff, making him a strong AD carry with kite and poke potential. He's slow and squishy, so you have to use your range to poke and inflict lots of damage. The only time Kog'Maw will have a problem is during the low levels (1-5) because his range isn't very long, but once you hit 6, you can start trading with enemy AD carries and win. If you're an AD carry player, you need to pick up Kog'Maw because he's probably the strongest AD carry late game.

Note : Kog'Maw is still pretty good AP.

Lore.

When the prophet Malzahar was reborn in Icathia, he was led there by an ominous voice which thereafter anchored itself to his psyche. From within, this voice bestowed upon him terrible purpose, and though Malzahar was no longer tormented by its call, the voice did not cease its unrelenting summons. This baleful beacon's gentle flicker -- now fastened to Runeterra -- drew forth a putrid beast that ambled across a threshold it did not understand, widening a fissure between the spaces which were never meant to meet. There amongst the haunting ruins of Icathia, Kog'Maw manifested in Valoran with unsettling curiosity. The spark which led him to Runeterra teased him still, urging him gently towards Malzahar. It also encouraged him to familiarize himself with his new environment, to the stark horror of everything he encountered on his journey.

The enchanting colors and aromas of Runeterra intoxicated Kog'Maw, and he explored the fruits of the strange world the only way he knew how: by devouring them. At first he sampled only the wild flora and fauna he happened across. As he traversed the parched Tempest Flats, however, he came upon a tribe of nomads. Seemingly unhampered by conventional rules of physics, Kog'Maw consumed every nomad and any obstacles they put in his way, amounting to many times his own mass and volume. The most composed of his victims may have had time to wonder if this was due to the caustic enzymes which stung the ground as they dripped from his gaping mouth, although such musings were abruptly concluded. When his wake of catastrophe reached the Institute of War, an enthusiastic Malzahar greeted him with an enticing prospect: taste the best Runeterra could offer...on the Fields of Justice.

Kog'Maw Passive. LOL.

With Kog'Maw, dont be afraid to die because upon dying, Kog'Maw starts a chain reaction in his body which causes him to move faster and detonate after 4 seconds, and it deals huge damage.

Abilities.

Caustic Spittle (Q)
This ability is good, but it isn't really required early on. You should max this last as the slow is more important for your team. It's strong late because it allows you to shred some of the resistances off of the tanks or whoever you're focusing. It also gives you a big attack speed steroid, giving you more DPS. You should use this on whoever the team is focusing because of the lowered resistances.

Bio-Arcane Barrage (W)
This is your main ability, the thing that makes Kog what he is. It gives you a HUGE attack range buff and extra magic damage added to your attack, making you a huge threat to the enemy. You should prioritize this because it allows you to poke in lane and when you're pushing.

Void Ooze (E)
You should max this second because it is very strong for teamfights and for when you want to escape. You can initiate using this ability, slowing and damaging the enemy team and allowing you and your team to poke and dish out damage. When you're being ganked, you can use this ability to slow down the enemy jungler, giving you some space to run away.

Living Artillery (R)
This ability is a super long range AoE poke. You can finish targets that get away with really low HP using this ability because it's hard to dodge. When in 1v1 situations, hitting these will be key as they do a lot of damage if you keep hitting them. You can also use this to poke enemies that are defending their towers. This ability is even stronger when paired with your slow, making it so they can't dodge.

Laning Phase.

Your main job is to get to level 6. Once you hit level 6, you can start trading with the enemy AD and getting some kills. This is where you need to play smart. At level 5 or 6, you can start using your W to poke with really long range and then go back to farming. This will keep them lower than you, giving you some space to farm your items.

Biggest Advantage, his Range.

Kog'Maw's greatest strength his great range. Kog’Maw has the highest range for any consistent or sustained damage nuke in the game. This allows for him to zone opponents off of their own turret and for your allies to push if he has blue buff, You can basically end the game the instant he has blue buff, deathcap and tear.

Dat Poke.

Once you're level 5, just use your W to give you longer attack range and hit the enemy AD or support 2 or 3 times. This will get rid of like 30% of their HP, allowing you to farm or trade off if they want to fight you. You should just be poking at this point, shredding their HP low enough to where you can kill them.

Pushing

It's really easy for Kog'Maw to poke towers because of his huge range. You can attack towers with no fear of them jumping onto you because your range is so long. If you see them approaching you, just use your slow and start poking them. When they dive you, just flash back and there's your teamfight. It's hard for them to initiate on you because of your strong AoE slow, and you've already shredded some of the tank's HP. Just make sure to know how much damage you can take and the range you need to be away from their AD\AP carries. Kog'Maw is so strong due to his push potential, making him very scary.

Best support for Kog'Maw.

If you are playing with a friend, tell him to get Janna, Nunu, Galio or Soraka

Janna is the best support for Kog'Maw because of their double slow and poke potential. She can also save Kog'Maw from ganks and during teamfights if the enemy team starts closing in on Kog'Maw.

Nunu is a strong support for Kog'Maw because of the Blood Boil steroid. It makes Kog'Maw's damage output so high, it basically gives you a free Phantom Dancer.

Soraka is strong because she gives Kog'Maw a lane in which he can farm safely. You have the most sustain and you can spam your spells, giving you a lot of poke potential.

Galio has a strong synergy with Kog'Maw because his ultimate allows Kog'Maw to freely attack and focus targets.
