Veigar is an extremely easy to understand champ but has a very unique playstyle. He is very easy to pick off during the early game but his late-game is when he truly shines, turning into a glass cannon.

Baleful Strike is the key ability to Veigar's early game. If you're new to the champ, simply auto-attack a minion till they are near death and use Baleful Strike to kill it. Every minion you kill and every ability that hits a champ grants you 1 AP. Killing a champ or assisting in a kill grants you 5 AP. However, those who understand Veigar's kit a little, try to get two minions low and kill them both with one Q. Be very wary of your mana and try not to be on the aggressive till you get Lost Chapter. Once getting Lost Chapter, you can attempt to poke the enemy every so often with your W or Q. This can be easily granted if you trap your opponent with Event Horizon. Veigar is also a very easy champ for your jungle to gank. Trap the enemy in your E when your jungler is ready to get a free flash or kill. Once they seem to be a little bit below half health, use your Primordial Burst for a free kill. If you're getting ganked use Event Horizon to zone the enemies off.

Once obtaining Luden's Tempest, your burst potential is strong. Simply getting a stun off from Event Horizon and landing Dark Matter and Baleful Strike will get them low enough for Primordial Burst to kill your laner most of the time. However, never forget that Veigar is always very squishy and is a prime target for assassins. Even in the mid-game, look for free stacks with Baleful Strike and keep getting stacks. Even if your laner is roaming, keep on stacking. Your full potential shines in the late game.

In the late game, you are your team's true carry. Separate enemies from their team with your E, allowing your team to pick off a free target. You can clear out minion waves extremely fast and takedown turrets in a few auto attacks. However, always stick with your team. Veigar is horribly bad at 1v1ing and is pretty much dead when targeted in the side lanes. Dark Matter will do devastating damage to the ADCs and anyone squishy.

Veigar's team fighting potential is one of the best. Event Horizon can easily box enemies in, letting your team pick them off. Keep on using Dark Matter to get free damage off the enemies to burst them down. Whenever an enemy is low, use Primordial Burst to secure the kill. Always stay behind your team's frontline and tanks. When you are caught out, use Zhonya's Hourglass if you have it. Every kill and assist you get will only turn you more demonically strong. Each team fight you fight in, the stronger you get.
