Hello! This is my first guide here on Mobafire. It features AP Master Yi and AD Master Yi. I think that master yi is a great champion. He is very cheap(450 IP) and easy to use.

Ap Master Yi

Pros

It is noob friendly
Meditate heals tons
Huge damage nukes with Alpha strike
Easily farm minions
Lots of HP
Meditate allows you to tank like a boss while healing

Cons

Heavily dependent on abilities
Weak to silences
Expensive build

AD Master Yi

Pros

Stable damage output
High speed
Pushes like a boss
can catch up with alpha strike then slow with Frozen mallet
Crits alot
Good HP

Cons

If binded in teamfight,useless
Short ranged
Get called a Killstealer because of hihgh attack speed

AP per level, this will make you Nuke harder at level 18.


Since glyphs specialize in AP, I got AP glyphs per level.

This will give you that LITTLE extra push to kill someone. Its a good idea to have some extra damage becauses after all, you do have Frozen mallet giving you some damage boost. Also Nashor's Tooth gives you a decent attack speed bonus, so put it to good use.

With this, you will have more survivability.

If you aren't high enough level to buy a tier 3 rune and/or can't afford them, go with tier 1 Quintessences . They are alot more affordable(check first that you're level is high enough to unlock quintessence slot)
*IMPORTANT* You unlock more rune slots as you get higher level, CHECK HOW MANY RUNE SLOTS YOU HAVE BEFORE BUYING RUNES!

My masteries on here are focused around building your ability power. I put ten points in utility for some of the simple things. With those points I got more mana,longer lasting boosts from the Lizard and Golem, and more speed.
Some people would wonder why i got Speed over mana regen, but i do that so you can chase down better as you will not be stacking phantom dancers. Also this way you may not need to use highlander and it can give you that extra push.

Well, AD Master Yi has basically the same masteries, except you focus on AD on offensive tree instead of AP. Also you get executioner so you have one less point in utility.

This will help you catch those noobs running away from you as you will be nuking them hard early game and pushing like crazy.


For survivability, but in later game, you will lane indefinitely with your meditate


When you recall to base, get this item as it will lower CD, is cheap and has high attack speed boost, and will fool your enemy into thinking you are building normal Master Yi . >:)


At this point, they will realize that you are building AP, bu try to surprise them. Preferrably just straight out buy Nashors Tooth


At this point, you will notice that you are hitting higher with Alpha strike, and you are healing like a boss. Also, the Cooldown reduction is nice


A 100% noob friendly item, as it gives AP for actual damage, lots of health, and mana.
You should get it right after Nashors Tooth to help let it upgrade ( takes 10 minutes)


Some people ask why not get rylais crystal scepter, and the answer is this: because you can use alpha strike to nuke them, and then use this to slow them. It works better, and gives you more HP( making it more noob friendly). Also, you might as well take advantage of the Attack Speed boost from Nashors Tooth and get SOME attack damage. Every bit counts.


With this item, you will start nuking even harder, and i suggest this item on any AP champion.


With this item, your nukes will be OP. You run in, Alpha strike, Hit them using lich bane buff (+ 400 damage), then you hit them, then you use Wuju style(gives you another charge for lich bane), and BAM. You just fit in 800 extra damage. Also that movement speed PARTIALLY makes up for no phantom dancer. Your still slower though :(
