[Masters] 11.5 THE BEST CAMILLE GUIDE ON MOBAFIRE (wip)

By lolkayleee
Introduction

So you might be wondering, "Why is this the 'Best Camille Guide on Mobafire'?" Well, I've looked at the other guides and, frankly, if there already was a decent Camille guide -- I wouldn't be writing this one. Camille is one of my favorite champions in League of Legends, and my eyes literally hurt seeing some of the builds and recommendations on this site, or lack thereof.

What not to look for in a Camille Guide:

If a guide is recommending any mythic item other than Trinity Force or Divine Sunderer they're trolling.
If a guide is written by a silver player... don't listen to them.
If a guide doesn't have Renekton and Jax listed as a hard matchup, it's fake news.
If a guide just copy and pastes the definitions of runes and abilities, then it's not even a guide.

Though I've only peaked Masters in Season 10, I've talked with other Challenger Camille mains and have gathered the best and most up-to-date information to share with you all. If you find this guide helpful, be sure to check out my twitch stream HERE.
Why Camille?
If you want to carry from top lane, Camille is the champion for you. No other champion can split push, engage, and assassinate carries to the extent Camille can. She is the MOST MOBILE top laner in the game and has one of the highest damage outputs of all top lane champions.

Pros:

  • Extremely Mobile
  • Strong Split Pusher
  • High Carry Potential
  • Easy Gank Setup
  • Tank Destroyer
  • Great at finding picks
  • Good early game, very strong late game
  • Not too many hard counters

Cons:

  • Underwhelming when behind
  • Is squishy mid game
  • Requires jungle assistance to get a lead is some matchups
  • Easily focused if she is the only engage in front to back fights (try to flank)
  • Takes time to learn
  • Not that many skins pepeHands

Proof that Camille is Fun:

Summoner Spells

Teleport
(Always)

Flash (Usually)

OR

Ignite (Sometimes)

Teleport (Always)

Given that Camille is one of the best split pushers in the game, Teleport is ESSENTIAL as it allows Camille to split push and join her team when they need her (with the potential of having a game winning flank).

Flash (Usually)

Flash should be your go-to summoner spell after Teleport. With Flash, you can escape from ganks, set up ganks, survive tower dives, teamfight better, and also catch people off guard with Hookshot / Wall Dive into Flash or flashing before using the second part of Camille's hookshot, Wall Dive. Use Hookshot before Flash in the majority of situations as it is more guaranteed to hit. Flashing before using Wall Dive can be used to gain more distance, or if someone is right next to the wall where Camille is jumping from she can Flash past them then Hookshot towards a priority target.

E Flash (Most Guaranteed to Hit)

Flash E (For Extra Distance)

Flash E (Flashing For Specific Enemy)

Ignite (Sometimes)

You can also take Ignite instead of Flash for better dueling potential. It is NOT NECESSARY IN ANY MATCHUP to take Ignite over Flash, however, in certain hard matchups where you want to reduce their healing and/or win an all in, Ignite will definitely help. Some of these matchups inclde Renekton, Aatrox, and Volibear, ect. (Check the matchups section down below to see in which matchups Ignite/ Teleport can be useful)
Runes
Camille is one of the few champions that can run a variety of rune pages. Currently, the best keystones for Camille are Grasp of the Undying and Conqueror. The meta currently favors the Grasp of the Undying rune page because the runes it offers allows Camille to be tankier in this damage heavy Season 11. The reduced healing from items and runes compared to Season 10 also makes the Conqueror page less desirable (although it does have its uses). For her secondary tree, there are many options you can choose that will work well with Camille. Ultimately, your secondary runes are PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Don't let anyone tell you different. Here are a few examples of rune pages you can take and why they are good.

Grasp Runes

Grasp

Shield Bash

Conditioning OR

Second Wind OR

Bone Plating

Overgrowth OR

Revitalize OR

Unflinching

Magical Footwear

Biscuit Delivery

This rune page is great against difficult matchups where Camille is unable to take extended trades. The keystone Grasp of the Undying can help her win short trades by dealing more damage on your initial auto attack while healing herself for a small amount. Shield Bash adds damage to your auto attack when Camille's passive is available which helps with short trades as well. This rune also makes Camille slightly tankier as the shield persists.

You can then choose from Conditioning, Second Wind or Bone Plating depending on what you need.
  • Conditioning scales the hardest out of these three runes. If you are confident you will win the early game, you can this rune.
  • Second Wind can be useful in a poke-heavy matchup where you will be taking a lot of small trades.
  • Bone Plating is very useful in matchups where the enemy champion has to all-in you instead of taking short trades.

Last in the Resolve tree, you can choose from Overgrowth, Revitalize, and Unflinching depending on what you need.

Many of the secondary rune options synergize well with Camille, but a lot of high ranked Camille players like to take Magical Footwear and Biscuit Delivery because Magical Footwear essentially gives you a free 300 gold and if you don't consume your Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will from Biscuit Delivery you can sell them for a total of 90 gold, all in all giving you about 400 gold for free. In addition, having extra health and mana from Biscuit Delivery helps you get through the tough matchups that require the Grasp of the Undying runepage.

Conqueror Runes

Conqueror

Triumph

Bloodline

Last Stand

Taste of Blood

Ravenous Hunter

This rune page scales insanely hard. Smurfs like to run this rune page because it allows them to carry the hardest.

Creative Runes

Arcane Comet

Manaflow Band

Absolute Focus

Scorch

Shield Bash

Second Wind

Fleet Footwork

Triumph

Bloodline

Last Stand

Magical Footwear

Biscuit Delivery

Get creative! Camille is one of the few champions that can use a variety of keystones and rune pages. There are many high ranked Camille players who use Fleet Footwork or Arcane Comet into ranged matchups such as Teemo, Kennen, and even Gangplank. Although these keystones don't scale very well, it can help you get out of laning phase so Camille can scale into the late game goddess that she is!
Combos

COMBOS KEY

aa = auto attack
Q1 = Part 1 of Precision Protocol
Q2 = Part 2 of Precision Protocol
Q = just spam Q (don't wait for Q2
Q minion = Q1 on a minion for movement speed and to charge Q2

THE BREAD AND BUTTER -- aa-Q1-aa-Q2

Camille's bread and butter combo. The hardest part about this combo is canceling your auto attack animation with Precision Protocol. After a while you'll get the timing down and you won't even have to think about it. If you ever hit a Q2 during laning phase you probably took a really good trade (just don't take a lot of minion aggro). If they misstep this will be the combo to do. I think a lot of players in Gold or lower just let Camille trade into them with this when they go for cs. In certain matchups, if they walk up to cs a minion you can just walk up to them and use this combo. You can also cheese a bush with this combo if the enemy top laner leashed, are walking back to lane, and you know you win 1v1 (this cheese doesn't work vs champions like Wukong or Darius. You will die.)

THE SHORT TRADE -- aa-Q-Q

You'll often times be doing this short trade in lane. Waiting for the Q2 takes too long in certain matchups. Your shield will expire and you'll take a lot of minion aggro or return damage from the enemy champion. So just take the short trade; it still does a lot of damage.

THE DOUBLE Q -- Q-Q

Some matchup like Fiora won't let you get into auto attack range while dealing damage to you. Given that Precision Protocol gives Camille an additional 50 bonus attack range, it can help you reach the champion and deal damage where you otherwise will not be able to with a normal range auto attack. The movement speed from Precision Protocol can be useful here. Just Q, move toward them, Q them again, and walk back.

THE POKE AND OUT -- Q minion-E-aa-Q2-W

Careful not to use this past the river if their jungler is topside, otherwise you just used your escape ability and now you're dead. Otherwise it's the best way to poke without committing to a fight.

THE NO HOOKSHOT POKE AND OUT -- Q minion-W-aa-Q2

Another good way to poke if they have no way to retaliate. If they do, and the movement speed from Q2 isn't enough to run away you can Hookshot to disengage. This doesn't work vs a champion like Darius unless his Apprehend is down. You will die.

THE NO HOOKSHOT POKE AND OUT -- Q minion-W-Q2(Part 2)

Often, good players will prevent you from getting an auto attack between you W and Q2, so this is a shorter version of the previous combo.

THE ALL IN -- E+W-aa-Q1-R-aa-aa-Q2

All in combo. Wait to use Tactical Sweep during your Hookshot. Over time you'll get used to the timing so you can hit Camille's Tactical Sweep on them while flying in with Wall Dive. You want to use Hextech Ultimatum right when the stun from Wall Dive ends so if they Flash to try to escape you can follow them. Try to weave in a couple auto attacks before your second Q is ready because it does more damage the more conqueror stacks you have. The number of auto attack you can weave in is dependent on how much attack speed you have. Weaving in more autos without Conqueror before Q2 doesn't matter.

THE FADEAWAY - E away-Q

The fadeaway. Camille can poke someone under tower by autoing them while Camille's Hookshot is moving towards the wall (not attached to the wall yet). A physical damage shield from Adaptive Defenses can block the turret shot. Not worth if you were to get a magic damage shield.

MY ADVICE

A great way to start with Camille is practicing these moves in the practice tool, but as you become more comfortable with Camille you won't think of these combos anymore. It will just become second nature. There are a variety of ways you can use Camille's kit. The best thing you can do is to play more games and get more experience on the champion!
How to Play Camille
The most important thing about Camille is knowing when you can go in. Whether that be during laning phase or teamfighting.

LANING PHASE

During laning phase, knowing when to Hookshot in is dependent on the matchup, but generally when you are 100% sure you will deal more damage than you will take and that you are at no risk of dying. In some matchups, such as Dr. Mundo, you can just Hookshot onto without any repercussion. While others, like Mordekaiser are conditional. Is his Death's Grasp on cooldown? Does he have Realm of Death? How much health do each of you have?

TEAMFIGHTING

Teamfighting on Camille is more complicated than laning. With each game, the team composition you will be teamfighting against and the teamfighting scenario will more than likely be different than what you have played against in the past. However, here are some key tips for teamfighting with Camille.

In 5v5's your main job is to kill their carries, then focus the tankier champions after. However, good teams will be looking out for you to come into them. For example, a Leona or Alistar might be standing around their carries anticipating for you to engage. That's why it's often times better for a fight to break out first and for Camille to come in shortly after while their team is distracted and while their abilities are down. Which brings us to the ideal way to play Camille.

SPLIT ---> FLANK ---> ASSASSINATE ---> (REPEAT)

Split. Camille is one of the best split pushers in the game. Not only does she build Trinity Force or Divine Sunderer, which helps her melt towers, but she can easily 1v1 champions in the side. Her true damage is insane and not even tanks can stop her from taking towers. What sets apart a good Camille player and a great Camille player is knowing when to split push and take towers and when to back off. What sets apart a great Camille player and the BEST Camille players are those who can 1 verse 2 and outplay their opponents or outplay other split pushers in the side lane such as Fiora. One of the best things about split pushing is that it can set you up for a flank.

Flank. A good Camille player is always looking for flanks onto the enemy backline. If you're the only engage on your team and you just try to go straight into the enemy team is a 5v5 there's a pretty high chance you'll just get focused and explode lol. It's better to try to find a flank, catch the enemy team off guard, use your ultimate to dodge cc or key damaging abilities, or even push key targets into your team.

Assassinate. Camille has the potential to one shot enemy carries depending on how much HP they build. Champions like Twitch have a low health pool and because Camille does a flat amount of true damage she can basically assassinate these champions when she's ahead. Catching these priority targets with their pants down is your objective.

PEEL

Peel. Although Camille's main job is to kill the enemy backline, sometimes it's essential for you to peel for your carries. An example of this would be a Rengar jumping on your ADC. Assuming your adc isn't completely useless, it would be better to focus the Rengar, whether than be stunning him with Hookshot or using Hextech Ultimatum, to lock him down instead of looking for a kill on their backline. Sometimes it's better to peel for your carries first then look to reengage.

Sorry guys I've been extremely busy at work! I've added some matchups but I'll rewrite them and make them look pretty later!

Medium Difficulty

Laning

Stack up your Grasp of the Undying on the wave. Try to sidestep his Q and land your W, Tactical Sweep, on him. When you have Grasp of the Undying stacked up and if his Q is on cooldown just walk up to him if he tries to go for CS and auto him.

You should get level 2 first, level E, Hookshot , if he is in Hookshot range just go on him for a short trade. Even if he has Q up you win the trade. When he is level 2, try to save your W Tactical Sweep for when his E is on cooldown, otherwise he can easily dodge it. Continue csing while dodging his Q with side steps, W Tactical Sweep when he walks up, and Hookshot on him when his Q is down and when your shield is up for a short trade. He should slowly get poked out. As long as you don't get hit by too many of his Qs or take a long trade you should be fine during the early game.

This matchup can get hard if he starts out sustaining you with his omnivamp and passive. Level 6 in an all in fight make sure to save your R Hextech Ultimatum to dodge his Q3. If he hits his Q3 you will probably lose unless you're very ahead.

Splitpushing

Splitting vs Aatrox could be difficult. He builds Goredrinker, Black Cleaver, Sterak's Gage, Plated Steelcaps -- all items that counter Camille. If you have to split push vs Aatrox you should look to build Chempunk Chainsword as a 3rd/4th item. Try to poke him out with Q2s before going for an all in. If you just Hookshot onto him while all his cooldowns are up he will just smash you unless you are ahead.

Tactical Sweep

Mythic:

Trinity Force

Medium Difficulty

Start

Start Doran’s Blade if confident, Doran’s Shield if you’re not confident or if you’re on weakside.

Laning

Level 1, wait to W Tactical Sweep her when she Qs you. It’s okay to take 1 Q from her while you’re trying to stack your Grasp of the Undying and get control over the wave as long as you don’t get hit by her empowered auto. When she’s low on energy you can walk up to her with your Grasp of the Undying/ Shield Bash auto and zone her from csing. W Tactical Sweep her off cooldown and she will slowly get poked out.

If you get level 2 first and are close to a wall you can take E Hookshot and go on her for a short trade. Your E is on a shorter cooldown than her W and is the same CD as her E. Look to walk up and auto her when she’s low on energy but sidestep when you think she’s about to E, and spam attack move with empowered Q Precision Protocolif she W’s. If you manage to bait out -- or if she ever wastes W or E look to Hookshot onto her or just W Tactical Sweep her and walk up and hit her. Your E Hookshot also interrupts her E if she doesn’t use it properly. You can put 3 points into E in this matchups as the shorter CD can be useful and she might not expect it.

The All In

In an all in, you can R Hextech Ultimatum her to prevent her from running away with her R2.. You can also R her R2 if you are about to be executed by it by spamming your R in her direction. You pretty much win 1v1 late game so worst case scenario just farm and kill her later.

Easy Matchup

A tank matchup. He should never kill you. If he does just look to farm and not die again.

Try to play aggressive early and contest your low health minions when he looks to farm them and utilize his passive. Once you complete Divine Sunderer, you can just poke him out with Q2. Use your enhanced movement speed from your Q Precision Protocol to dodge his Q if you’re chasing. If his E is down look to trade.

The only thing you can R Hextech Ultimatum in this matchup is his Q. If he has Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest, bami’s cinder, just farm for your Divine Sunderer cause you will probably lose trades.

You can split vs him late game and look to rotate to your team.
Darius

Summoner Spells:

Start:

Tactical Sweep

Mythic:

Trinity Force

or

Divine Sunderer

Hard Matchup

Start

Start Doran’s blade if you know your jungler will help, Corrupting Potion if weakside.

Laning

Level 1, auto attack the minions to stack up your grasp and auto him one time when he walks up for cs. Make sure you do not walk past your melee minions or he could potentially run you down the lane with ghost. Take another small auto attack trade without your passive and as you both back off W him to get your health back. Take E level 2. If he pulls you first, he can’t kill you because you can E away, however, if you E in on him while he has all his abilities up he can very well kill you. If you’re standing somewhat close to a wall you can E towards the wall while he’s charging his Q and hookshot onto him after it casts. Look to just take a small trade and back off -- Darius wins all-ins in this matchup because he will take conqueror 99.9% of the time, and his passive is kinda op.

If you're uncomfortable in this matchup just get whatever cs you can, wait for a jungle gank, and eventually outscale him. Be very careful once he is level 3. If you walk up next to him to Q Precision Protocol him while the wave is in the middle of the lane he can just W you for a slow, auto you, wait for you to E Hookshot away, cancel your E Hookshotwith his E and you’re dead.

Try to keep the wave on your side of the lane so you can look to take short trades without the risk of him chasing you down. You win when your jungler comes and it's a 2v1, try to focus him if its 2v2. If he uses Ghost during the jungle gank you don't have to chase him and go for a kill, it’s already a win because his kill threat on you goes down a lot and you can farm easier.

Later in the Game

You can win vs him when you have Trinity Force + Conqueror and you’re not too far behind. Wait for him to waste Q then go on him and R Hextech Ultimatum him when he uses Q again, you should win.

Mythic:

2+ Enemy Tanks

Easy Matchup

Laning

There should be no way Dr. Mundo wins this lane. You can start any ability in this matchup. If he's standing close to a wall take E Hookshot and go on him. Level up Q Precision Protocol level 2 and E Hookshot on him again and kill him. If he walks up for cs lvl 1, take Q Precision Protocol, Q combo him, take E Hookshot level 2 and kill him.

If he's playing safe (away from walls and out of auto range) take W Tactical Sweep, zone him from cs, block a cleaver with your body, and look to W Tactical Sweep him back for hp. You can just zone him from cs in this matchup and set up the lane for your jungler to gank. If he's low he's an easy dive under tower.

Mythic Build

Build Trinity Force if he is the only enemy tank. If the enemy team has at least two tanks, build Divine Sunderer.
Fiora

Keystone:

Grasp of the Undying

Summoner Spells:

or

Start:

Doran's Blade

Tactical Sweep

Mythic:

Trinity Force

Medium Difficulty

Start

Level 1, walk up to the wave and start stacking up your Grasp of the Undying. The first vital should be behind you if this is your first time being near her. You can walk up to her and away from her to bait out her Q if she tries to go for the vital. If she's good she would probably not go for this vital because she would take a pretty bad trade but you can try it none the less. Otherwise just look to stack up your Grasp of the Undying, go for a Grasp of the Undying auto with your passive up and walk away. Only use your W Tactical Sweep when her Q is on cooldown, otherwise she can just Q away or Q into you while her Q is half the cd of your W Tactical Sweep.

You win this lane by landing Ws on her while her Q is down and by taking short trades. Keep autoing the wave and try to get level 2 first, if you get to lane first this shouldn't be a problem.

Level up Q Precision Protocol level 2, if she ever Qs towards you press Q and Q her back with a quick Q Q trade. The reason you want to do a Q Q trade vs autoing her first is because she might not be in auto range after she Qs and your Q gives you extra range and movement speed. If you're about to hit a Q2 on her, try to side step at the last second and dodge her W because she will likely parry your Q2 damage.

When her parry is down she's very vulnerable. If you're at a health advantage you can look to E Hookshot on her when her parry is down (before she's level 6). You can also E[[hookshot] on her while she has her parry up but you have to make sure you hit the edge of her character and side step her W or else you'll likely die. You should only do this if you're ahead.

Ganks

If your jungler ganks, try to bait out her parry with your E Hookshot (or other ability if possible, but usually E is the sure way). You don't have to hit her just get close to her so you bait out her parry and so you've gap closed for the gank.

After Level 6

Past level 6 you should never E Hookshot into her even when her parry is down unless you have a significant health advantage and are ahead. Rush Executioner's Calling and get a Sheen. You should always go Trinity Force in this matchup because you're going to side lane a lot and Divine Sunderer doesn't work well vs her because she isn't a tank and the extra hp from divine sunderer will make her do extra damage to you because she deals % max hp damage from her passive. Never walk up to her and give her free vitals -- if she goes for a vital make sure you Q Precision Protocol her in return and W Tactical Sweep her as she walks away. It's normal to give up some cs in this matchup in order to keep you hp high and win lane.
Gankplank
Hard

Start W.
Take Grasp or Conqueror w/ second wind.
Start Doran's shield or Corrupting pot.
Build triforce or Divine sunderer.
You can take ignite/teleport.

Level 1 take whatever cs you can and W him in return after he Qs you. The wave should be shoving towards you, take E level 2 and look to hookshot onto him for a small trade with your passive. When hookshotting onto him, make sure to kill his barrels first, if you don't you'll likely lose the trade. Try to use a normal auto on the barrel (do not Q the barrel).
Garen
Easy

Start W or Q.
Take Grasp or Conq.
Start Doran's blade.
Build triforce or divine sunderer.
Take flash/teleport.

There should be no way Garen wins this matchup. You can start Q or W in this matchup. If you start Q, press Q before autoing him as he goes for his Q auto. If you do a normal auto attack his Q damage will go through before your passive can shield you. So just do a Q1, auto, Q2 and back off and get level 2 first, level up E, go on him and you might burn a flash. If you start W, you can let him Q you, auto him for a shield to block minion aggro, and W him as you guys back away. Try to only trade with your passive up and you pretty much win every trade. W him to keep his passive down. He's an easy target to hookshot because he has no dashes. The only way he kills you is if he flash + ignite + Q + E + Rs you while your shield is down and you're at half hp so be careful when he has flash up and you're at half hp. You shouldn't really be at half hp in this matchup thought because he can never really get onto you and you hard counter him.
Gnar
Easy

Start W.
Take Grasp or Conq, both with approach velocity.
Start Doran's blade.
Build trinity force or divine sunderer.
You can take ignite/teleport.

Level 1, W him off cooldown. If he's autoing you at all the wave should push to you. Level up E level 2 and go on him for a small trade. If he jumps away with his E that's fine just walk away. His E is on a 22 second cooldown so while your E is coming off cooldown he'll be zoned. If he walks up in hookshot range just E onto him and all in him if his Gnar bar isn't close to full. If he's playing safe and away from the walls and far from minions while he's waiting for his e to come off cooldown, use that time to this out the wave to try to keep the wave on your side of the lane . If you take approach velocity + biscuits you'll have enough mana to W him constantly and the movement speed from approach velocity to burn his E without using your hookshot with a q-minion W Q2 combo.
Illaoi
Hard

Start Q, W or E.
Take Grasp or Conqueror.
Start doran's blade.
Build trinity force or divine sunderer.
Take ignite/teleport.

If she's bad and walks up next to you to cs start Q. If she's playing somehwat back start W. But you can look to start E and hookshot onto her level 1. Her level 1 is really bad. Try not to get hit by her E while she's next to tentacles or you'll lose a lot of health. If you E on her while she has E off cd a good Illaoi can just E towards the wall where you're coming from for a guaranteed E and you'll lose the trade. If possible, try to keep the lane in the middle or on her side of the lane. This matchup becomes impossible if you're under your tower and she's constantly waveclearing and poking you under tower. And your jungler probably won't come if she has her R because she might take one of you guys down or maybe both. You can dodge her R with your R. Only time you can E in is when her E is down or if she doesn't have tentacles around her and if she doesn't have R.
Irelia
Easy

Start Q.
Take Grasp or Conq (Conq if better for laning in this matchup).
Start Doran's blade.
Build triforce.
You can take ignite/teleport.

Try to get to lane first if you can. If she starts Q and Qs a minion level 1, just stand next to the low hp minion she's going for and give her an aa-Q-aa-Q2 . Just keep poking her if she goes for low hp minions so she can't stack up her passive for free. When the wave is pushing back to you, you have to be careful if she has two stacks of passive -- if she lands an E on you she basically gets full passive stacks after she uses Q and W or just Q Q's you. You will ALWAYS lose if she has 5 stacks UNLESS you are extremely far ahead in items/levels OR you have a huge health advantage. Just play safe as the wave is pushing back to you and while she has close to full or full stacks or her passive. Rush executioners calling if you don't have ignite. You can dodge her R with you R.
Jax
Hard

Start W.
Take Grasp.
Start Doran's blade.
Build triforce.
You can take ignite/teleport.

Level 1 stack up your grasp on the wave and pretend to auto him to bait out his E. If you manage to do that correctly you should still get damaged by the edge of his E but not take more than 1 auto attack. W him as he walks away to get your health back and look to auto him while his E is down. You can try to get level 2 first, but if it looks like he will get it first just back off the wave or he can just jump on you and your W won't be able to do anything and you'll take a very bad trade. If you do get level 2 first you can look to slow push the second wave and fast push the third for a cheater recall and try to freeze the wave on your side when you come back and force his teleport. Try to stay near walls so you can easily stun him and disengage if he tries jumping on you. Level 3 and on, the worst place for the minion wave to be is in the middle of the lane where you can't hookshot away (he can stun you and stop your hookshot) and he can jump on you for free so try to just be patient if the wave is pushing back to you and look to trade when you're closer to walls. Level 6 you can use your R to dodge his E stun. Make sure to R during the last bit of his E because most Jax players will have it casting for as long as possible to dodge as many auto attacks as they can. Usually whoever's jungler pressures this lane more usually wins but pure 1v1 is Jax favored level 3 and on. Jax wins pretty hard 1v1 late game so you can look to force plays if he's splitting with Camille's long range engage tools.
Jayce
Medium

Start W.
Take Grasp or Conq.
Start Doran's blade or shield.
Build Triforce.
Take flash/teleport.

Level 1, W him after he autos you. Most Jayce players will slow push the wave so try to thin out the wave without taking too much damage so you can hit level 3 easily if your jungler comes and so you guys don't have to fight in a huge minion wave. Try and keep spamming W on him as the wave pushes towards you -- if he knows what he's doing he can hammer form Q into you when you cast W so make sure you're casting W in your minion wave so when he does Q onto you he'll take some minion aggro, then auto him once or twice as he backs away. When you're level 2 and the wave is pushing towards you, W him again and if he hammer form Q's onto you then knocks you away with his E look to hookshot onto him while his cooldowns are down. Doing this also forces his minions to aggro you so the wave doesn't push into as fast. Level 3 and on, if he ever switched from hammer form to cannon form, hookshot onto him if he is in range because he will not be able to switch back to hammer form and knock you away for a few seconds. Once you get triforce, as long as you don't get hit by too much of his poke you basically run over him. Late game you can look to split push and pressure a side lane.
Karma
Medium

Start W.
Take Conqueror.
Start Doran's blade or shield.
Build Triforce.
Take flash/teleport.

Level 1, you can take a little bit of poke and W her to get some of your health back. Just try not to get poked down too hard and you should be fine. Give up some cs if you need to in order to keep your health high. When you hit level 2 you can hookshot onto her for a short trade. It's REALLY hard to kill Karma because her whole kit is designed to kite melee champions. If she builds plated steelcaps and bramble vest it doesnt matter if you can't can't kill her because you can feel good about yourself that you aren't playing karma with plated steelcaps and bramble vest. Haha.. But really just farm until you have your trinity force and if your jungler comes she's pretty much dead unless she goes full tank. If she goes full tank you might want to get an early executioner's calling and know that you'll be way more useful than her later in the game.
Kayle
Easy

Start W or E.
Take Conqueror.
Start Doran's blade.
Build triforce.
Take flash/teleport.

You can look to cheese a bush level 1. If she leashes and walks into the bush start E and auto her, when she's out of auto range hookshot onto her and keep autoing her. You pretty much win lane if this happens. Otherwise look to start E if she's close to a wall, you can hookshot onto her and you'll win auto attack trades. When you hit level 2 with your E start, level up Q level 2 if she's playing in E range and hookshot onto her and you might even kill her. In low elo, most Kayles don't play as safe as they should be and you can potentially rack up a lot of kills. If the Kayle is playing correctly though, you need to work with your jungler to potentially dive her or gank her while the wave is pushing back to you. Once she hits level 6 and you miss your E, she can just auto attack you as you walk back in shame. Look to hookshot onto her while her W is down, otherwise she will W while you E and gain a lot of distance away from you. In an all in, you want to R her R damage as it does a considerable amount of damage. If you jungler ever camps this lane and if you freeze the wave on your side of the lane then it's kind of doomed for her.
Kennen
Easy

Start W.
Take Conqueror.
Start Doran's blade, shield, or corrupting potion.
Build triforce.
Take flash/teleport.

Spam W on him. Try not to get poked down too hard. If he ever wastes E then hookshot onto him unless he's baiting for his jungler. Keep track of how many of his passive stacks are on you before going in. If you have 2 stacks on you already then he can just add one more stack with his E and kite away. Try to go in when you don't have any stacks on you. I haven't play then matchup too often because kennen top isn't too popular anymore but just try to not get poked down early game, farm for your trinity force, build mercury treads, and you pretty much crush him 1v1. Look to split push late game then rotate to your team. You might want to consider taking approach velocity in this matchup because it will help bait out his E as you Q a minion into W and Q2 him.
Kled
Easy

Start W.
Take Conqueror.
Start Doran's blade.
Build triforce.
Take ignite/teleport.

Level 1, try to dodge his Q and auto the minion wave to try to get level 2 first. If he lands his Q, then walk up to him and auto attack him to get your shield so his Q damage will deal no damage to your hp bar. If you do take damage from his autos or his Q, W him to get your health back. BUT if you take damage from his Q, wait for the grievous wounds to wear off before W'ing him or you basically won't heal at all for your W because his grievous wounds is way better than a normal grievous wounds. if you get level 2 first, you can level up e and hookshot onto him for a short trade. Never hookshot onto him while his W is off cooldown or when his bar is close to full unless you are 100% sure you can kill him before he can remount. Kled relies on his opponents not knowing when he is going to remount in order to get kills. The reason you want to take ignite in this matchup is because it helps you with the all in before he remounts. If you happen to trade ignite for flash it's worth because ignite is on a much lower cooldown. Once you get triforce you win this matchup pretty hard. Ping your team when he's missing because if you're winning he will try to look for other plays outside of top lane to help his team. If you know this is happening just ping your team that he's missing and shove your lane to take turret plating or tower.
