Farm lane. Cull start. Play safe and avoid long trades with him because he will win. Wait for items to start trading. Take exhaust if you can.
Tristana
Farm lane. Cull Start. When she jumps on you then you can exhaust her and run away. Wait till you get items and then react when she jumps on you.
Lucian
Farm lane. Cull start. Another champion to take exhaust against. Taking exhaust can lower the difficulty you have against Lucian. Avoid Q poke through minions and look to engage when he uses E.
Caitlyn
She can outrange you with her q poke and auto attacks. Cull Start. Look to avoid her net at all costs. You spike with items so you can look to fight her then.
Ashe
Her slow and W poke can really screw you over by itself. You can take Dorans Blade Or Cull but it mainly depends on what support Ashe is paired with. If she has something more passive like a Soraka then take Cull and farm it out, If she has something more aggressive like a Nautilus or Leona then take Dorans Blade because I highly doubt you will be able to farm against that. Against Ashe take exhaust or build mercurial. Look to trade back once she has used W because of its high CD early.
Miss Fortune
More of an annoying matchup with the rise of the Comet poke build. Take cull in this lane as you will want to fight her with items because she beats you in early trades. Look to trade after she has used E because that slow is fat. She will look to layer her R on CC such as Morgana Q, Pantheon W, Lux Q, etc. Exhaust cuts her dmg and W move speed.
Yasuo
The difficulty you will have with this pick is dependent on 2 factors, 1. How good the Yasuo is, 2. what support is picked. Otherwise you can use Severum to attack through his Wind Wall since it counts as melee attacks. Exhaust makes his dashing look like little skips.
Varus
He can poke you out of lane with his Q. You can go Cull or Dorans Blade. Look to engage when he has used E because it inflicts grievous and can really make your Severum look like a water pistol.
Jhin
What you want to take as a starting item is really dependent on the enemy support and whether their impact will make it a farm or all-in lane. Look to stay away from minions when he uses Q as it can bounce to you doing some hurty damage. Look to trade with him when he has 1-2 shots left as he will need to reload in the middle of the fight. If the trades go south then he can just use R to try and finish the job.
Ezreal
Not that hard of a lane. Stay in your minion wave to avoid Q/WQ poke. Look to all-in him when he uses E. Starter item depends on enemy support pick.
Jinx
Her early lane phase is not the best in the world. She will look to poke you with either W when you're out of your wave or Q Rockets when you're in the wave. Jinx is more of a follow up adc and will not initiate fights herself.
Senna
I have yet to fight it.
Twitch
Twitch has gone from something to not worry about to something you should be fearing. The fact twitch can rush nashors tooth and get max passive stacks, press e and win is a problem. BAN THIS!!
Vayne
Your experience with Vayne depends on the player and support pick. Take cull to make it a farm lane if you want and just FB on enough to get noon quiver. Exhaust ruins her Q. Look to trade when she uses Q or E.
Xayah
Lets be honest, when is the last time you've actually seen a good Xayah player?, Let alone Xayah at all. She isnt that hard to beat, she will try to poke you with her feathers and root you for follow up. Wait for her to use her R before using yours as she will dodge it.
Kai'Sa
She can be pretty oppressive paired with the right support and just dominate lane.
Sivir
Not really that good in the current meta, not terrible but not good. She will look to shove waves and poke with Q, looking to refresh her mana with E. Try and bait spell shield by walking up to her, Sivir player are pretty spazzy and will use E at the slightest instance of engage. She can kite really well but if you're ahead then it doesn't really matter.
Kalista
Not the best ATM. She will look to do shorter trades to wither you down and then stack a bunch of spears on you to execute with E. Take exhaust if you want to be a cuck lord.
Kog'Maw
Is he even a champion at this point?
Lulu
The attack speed she gives you is crucial in early trades as your attack speed isn't the best early on. Polymorph is insane for messing with the enemy adc allowing them to not do damage while you are. Her R is amazing in general. Just amazing to be paired with a Lulu.
Pyke
Pretty great support, helps apply early pressure and the gold bonus you get from his R can really help you reach your item spikes faster.
Leona
Her early game aggression is great for applying the pressure you need and she has really strong all-in. I've won nearly every lane with a Leona by me.
Yuumi
I prefer to not. Dodge.
Brand
Great for poke but can't really engage/peel for you.
Senna
Her root late game can be pretty lengthy as its duration scales with level. Her Q is great sustain in lane so you will almost always out sustain your laners.
Alistar
Great for all-in with his cc chain. Helps assert pressure and gets real tanky.
Bard
His healing shrines are great sustain for when you need it. You will have to know when to adjust your playstyle when he roams for chimes. Great peel with ult and Q stun.
Thresh
Thresh is great with you because he has the pressure you need to win lane. His Q and E are perfect for making sure people cant get to you.
Morgana
She can root, poke with W, and shield you from a core ability with E. Not an ideal support for you but not terrible.
Lux
Good E poke. If she lands her root then that's a good follow up. Her ult does amazing damage when its followed up by her Q or your Gravitum Q.
Seraphine
She has great cc and her W shield is underestimated.
Rell
She has great cc and engage. Her oppressiveness can win you lane with her knock back, stun, and R pull.
Shaco
Dodge. Please I beg you. Dodge.

Hi! I'm McNugglz, a silver Aphelios player here to share the knowledge I've gathered so far on Aphelios. I may be low elo but I feel the info I've got here can really be of use to people more my level. I started playing league January of 2020 and I've been addicted ever since. Lets get into the guide
Lane phase.
In the lane phase you really are not the strongest as you only start with two different auto attacks. Play level 1 safe and just farm for 2 and poke with sniper when the opportunity presents itself. Don't poke if they can counter back with something stronger or their wave is way bigger than yours as the minions will aggro on to you causing you to take more damage than you put out. If you started cull then mainly look to cs as you can sometimes back on enough gold for noon quiver and boots.
When you're in lane you have access to Calibrum, The Sniper Rifle and Severum, The Scythe Pistol. In lane you want to mainly cs with Severum so you can leave your poke and harass to Calibrum. Once you reach 10 or less ammo on Severum you can either empty the gun like normal or look to pull off a combo. The combo goes as follow Severum Q, Gravitum replaces Severum, Activate mark, Gravitum Q to root them in place, Then Calibrum Q for the extra damage and mark proc. There are plenty of other combos that you can do but I'll make a video on that in the future.
Mid game
Aphelios in the mid game can vary depending on how you do in lane, duh. You will most likely have your mythic item and boots. You will want to look to do one of many things. You will either want to snowball your lane further by getting more kills or poking them out of lane to gather a cs gap, Focus objectives, or join in on skirmishes as your R is a game changer in fights. A tip that I do have for using your R is that you shouldn't stress about holding it as its cd isn't that bad. The only time you would really want to hold your R is if you have Severum R available to heal back from a fight gone sideways.
Late game
Your late game is where you become frickin awesome! You have a lot of DPS with your runaans hurricane Infernum. In team fights you will obviously want to stay in the back line and follow up when a key ability/abilities have been used by the enemy. Some include Leona R, Talon R, Nautilus R/Q, Orianna R, Sejuani R, any key ability that will mess up your chances of stabilizing yourself in fights to pump out your damage. Some of your best team fight combos are Infernum/Gravitum, Infernum/Crescendum, Severum/Infernum, Calibrum/Crescendum. Each game you will want to take into thought in which guns you will want to have the majority of times.
Ending
I hope you enjoyed going through this guide. If you learned something that's amazing and if you have any questions or feedback then feel free to put them down.
