Champion Introduction
Thresh, The Chain Warden Thresh is a ranged support who uses engages and hard Crowd Control to lock down his opponent for his ADC so they can get an easy kill. Thresh can handle himself in lane very well, whether it's with his ADC or by himself. |
Pros and Cons
+ Tanky champion. + Lane bully. + Good damage. + Crowd control. + Great engages. + Strong roaming capabilities. |
- Difficult skillshots. - Barely any sustain. - Once hooks is down he is very open. - W has a long cooldown. - Late game gets outscaled if put behind. - NOBODY CLICKS THE LANTERN. |
Ability Sequence and Explanation
| Range: - | Cooldown: - | Cost: - | Thresh's passive, Damnation, causes enemy champions who die near Thresh to drop a soul that lasts for 8 seconds. These souls give Thresh bonus armour and AP. They also contribute towards his W shield amount. Small minions and monsters have a 33.33% chance to drop souls, champions, large minions and monsters have a 100% chance to drop souls, Epic monsters drop 2 souls. |
| Range: 1100 / 1100 / 1100 / 1100 / 1100 | Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 | Cost: 70 | Use Thresh's Q, Death Sentence, to engage on champions and give your ADC a free kill. This ability stuns an enemy and brings them closer to Thresh. It also does magic damage equal to 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 50% AP) and can be recasted when it hits an enemy to dash towards the enemy. Cast E during the dash for the most Crowd Control. |
| Range: 950 | Cooldown: 22 / 20.5 / 19 / 17.5 / 16 | Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 | Thresh's W, Dark Passage, is a great tool for bringing an allied champion into a fight. Thresh throws his lantern, leaving it on the ground for an allied champion to walk on it and gain a shield equal to 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 1 per Damnation Soul collected). If the allied champion clicks the lantern they will dash to Thresh's location. Dark passage can also pick up a soul for Thresh. |
| Range: 400 | Cooldown: 9 | Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 | Thresh's E, Flay, has a passive and an active. The passive deals bonus damage on Thresh's next basic attack after spending 10 seconds not basic attacking enemies. Once this is charged up it deals + 1 per Damnation Soul collected (+ 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 / 200% AD). The active of Flay drags enemies towards Thresh, dealing magic damage equal to 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+ 40% AP) and slowing for an amount equal to 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 1 second. |
| Range: 450 | Cooldown: 140 / 120 / 100 | Cost: 100 | Thresh's ultimate, The Box, makes 5 walls around him in the shape of a pentagon. If enemies walk into this wall they are slowed by 99% for 1 second and take magic damage equal to 250 / 400 / 550 (+ 100% AP). |

Gameplay
When you are playing as Thresh you will want to be aggressive in lane. Place down as many wards as possible through river and dragon. Deep wards in the enemy jungle may also be necessary but try to keep safe in doing so. Once your Relic Shield upgrades to Targon's Buckler get an Oracle Lens to clear out wards. Also make sure to utilise control wards in a way that you can keep enemies from seeing a potential gank from your jungler.
If you have a kill advantage make sure you snowball that lead with your ADC, keep getting as many easy kills as possible. Towerdiving might be necessary if you are fed enough. If you are not fed enough wait for the enemy to make a bad play and use Hexflash + Q to hit a hook and potentially get a kill.
If you are behind in lane try to keep the enemy at your tower, hooking them in as much as you can. By keeping them at your tower, your jungler can easily gank and with you and your ADC's help possibly get a double kill.
Roaming on Thresh is key so you can get assists and help lanes succeed. Roaming to mid is your best option, as it it closest to botlane. Once in mid wait for the perfect time to strike, using all abilities (if you have access to them all) and giving your laner the kill.
