Chapter 1: Introduction

Mentlegen, Its time for Xin Zhao

Introduction:

Hi, this is Phionex from the NA servers, also known as AlexanderTheMeh in the asian Garena servers.

Before we start, I would like to know:
1. I am not the best League of Legends player.
2. You can modify this as much as you want.
3. Please don't hate on this guide for no reason D:

"But wait now, If you such at LoL and don't expected to be hated, what is up with your mid?" My answer to that is: I want to share my experiences on certain champions in hopes of helping other players getting better at LoL. Please, I do not expect everyone to like this guide, but please leave constructive criticism, and at least try to see the effort I put into this guide.

Oh and, I AM ASIAN!

Thanks guys, I hope you find this guide helpful!

Chapter 2: Who is Xin Zhao?

Who is Xin Zhao?

Xin Zhao was the first character that I absolutely loved at first glance. With a gap closer, great sustain, the ability to jungle and lane, he was perfect for me. Xin is one of the most powerful AD characters in the game. Early game, quick bursts will take care of your enemies, while late game, you carry or tank your way to victory. With a flexible way of building and playing I have included five different builds, each to fit your situation and playstyle.

Although this video is quite old and is pre-rework, I believe the champion spotlight does give a little foretaste of this great champion:

Chapter 3: Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

SPACE Exhaust definitely deserves to be in the god tier of Summoner Spells. Exhaust is key to Xin Zhao's success. As I pointed out earlier in the Pros/Cons sections, Xin Zhao's key weakness is being kited/or keeping your enemies from running so you can burst them down. Along with your Trinity Force, Frozen Mallet, Three Talon Strike and Audacious Charge, PLUS Exhaust, the enemy basicaly CANNOT escape. Exhaust also shuts down powerful AD carries like Master Yi or Tryndamere and can ultimately save your life when being chased because as I mentioned earlier, Xin Zhao has no escape mechaism. Paired along with runes and masteries, you will shred the enemy's armor and deal nearly true damage! SPACE

SPACE There are just unavoidable situations where you need something to save your ***. The answer to that is definitely Flash. Flash can get over walls, get away from enemies that are constantly applying slows ( Ashe), and Flash can also be a distance closer against the enemy. Although Xin Zhao already has a gap closer ( Audacious Charge), who said there couldn't be two? xD. Even after the range nerf, Flash still deserves to be in the God Tier of Summoner spells. SPACE

SPACE Xin Zhao is one of those champions that I feel like Ghost and Flash are ranked on the same tier. Ghost DEFINITELY deserves to be in the god tier as it is as good as, of not better than Flash on Xin Zhao. Not only does it cover more distance than Flash, your 35% extra movement speed makes chasing a breeze. It lasts longer than Exhaust and the speed gets rid of the slow. HOWEVER... The reasoning behind why I put Flash on most of the builds EXCEPT for the jungle build are for three reasons: One, Ghost is over time, so it lacks the ability to suddenly get in range for your Audacious Charge or getting away from for example, Enchanted Crystal Arrow, Ghost cannot go over walls, and Ghost lacks the element of surprise Flash gives so it is much less effective for tower diving.

Reasoning behind putting Ghost for the jungler:. In early game ganks, Xin Zhao is very slow without boots, and after the initial burst of Flash, if the enemy has boots, they can easily get away. If, on the other hand, you have Ghost+ Red Buff, you can keep the pressure up on the enemy. Additionally, the first thing that happens to you when you get close to an enemy while ganking is you get CC'ed all over. However, Ghost is much more capable of recovering from over time CC's (like Exhaust) and since your boots are so slow, there would be no chance of killing the enemy. With Ghost, you will at least have a better chance.

Summoner Spells

SPACE Ignite is one of my personal favorite summoner spells. It is great at early levels to get first blood. It also deals true damage, and with the Summoner's Wrath buff, it is pretty OP. It is also good for getting rid of Dr.Mundo's and Swain's health regaining ultimates. If the enemy gets away with little to no health, tag them with Ignite and then they die! Replace Exhaust with this if you want. SPACE

SPACE As you know, after the huge buff of heal, it has become a standard for squishy AD carries like Vayne or Ashe. Since the glass cannon build for Xin Zhao is basically the equivalent to an AD carry like [Vayne]] or Ashe, I suggest Heal while running it. As tank, I feel like Heal is great for survivability that Xin Zhao might need while being focused. SPACE

SPACE I cannot stress the importance of smite! Here is a section copied out of Xenasis's guide "Jungling 101: What you need to know"

EVERY JUNGLER NEEDS SMITE

There is NO jungler than can "Jungle without Smite", and don't let anybody tell you different. Advantages of Smite
+ Securing of buffs/dragon/baron
+ Much harder for you to be counter jungled
+ Faster (in some cases, by a huge amount) jungle times
+ More ganks, due to needing less time in the jungle for XP
+ Ability to counter jungle a LOT easier, you can steal their buffs with Smite
+ You only need a lower level to kill Dragon
+ More/faster gold, for items

Without Smite, you're not jungling at all. You're simply roaming around the map and killing creeps along the way. Smite is THE jungling spell, you'd be a fool not to take it. Without it, you'll have your creeps, dragon, and baron stolen, will be under-levelled, and can't properly counter jungle. Take Smite. No exceptions.

OK Summoner Spells

SPACE Teleport is a great spell, especially if you are Mid or Solo top. Tower getting beaten down? Nope.avi teleport. Enemies escaping from allies? Nope, chuck testa teleport to ward. Its really a nice spell to take, but I would much rather take another spell. If you like this spell a lot, consider replacing Exhaust (I suggest you to keep Ghost/ Flash because you will be needing mobility) SPACE

SPACE The cooldown is a little too long, but I still think it is a great spell to take if the enemy has a lot of CC or all of them are running Ignite/ Exhaust. Because you have to time it very well, I find it a difficult spell to use. consider replacing Exhaust (I suggest you to keep Ghost/ Flash because you will be needing mobility) SPACE

/center]

SPACE Its an obvious No-No. The cooldown is ridiculously long, and if you are dying enough to make this a useful summoner spell, something is going wrong :|. SPACE

SPACE A very underused spell, and rightly so: the bonuses it gives you really doesn't serve any purpose as it has a very short duration. Compared to other summoner spells, its quite lackluster. SPACE

SPACE I really do not think this spell is good for anyone. Yeah, it gives you a ****ing huge minion with a lot of health, but it nevertheless dies pretty quickly. Plus, Xin Zhao is a great farmer/pusher and doesn't need this. SPACE

SPACE This is a great spell, with short cooldowns, etc, but keep it for your supports. SPACE

SPACE Xin Zhao's spells don't really use that much mana anyways. If you find yourself running out of mana a lot, consider farming with autoattacks rather than spamming your abilities. SPACE
