Introduction

Hey Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to look at my first guide!

Since I have been playing League of Legends i shuffled between a lot of champions in the beginning until I found Fiddlesticks. I didn't play as another champion for a good while i liked being him so much. He still remains my favorite and most played champion.

Fiddlesticks is a champion that's Easy to learn how to use, but difficult to master. Using Crowstorm at the right time can be tricky to figure out, but when you do racking up double kills and even triple kills becomes a lot easier.

Pro's + Con's

Pro's

- Excellent Sustain - Bountiful Harvest
- Great CC with Silence and Fear combo
- Longest lasting Fear in game
- good harass with Reap
- Good at initiating team fights when used correctly

Con's

- Very Squishy
- Farming can be difficult
- Not good at Pushing a lane
- Can get easily countered if silenced
- Burst Champions (Especially Annie) can kill you very quickly

Spells

Dread

: Passive



Nearby enemy champions have their Magic Resistance reduced by 10.

Explanation: Great Passive, especially early - mid game. A lot of champions will build MR when laning against you, so this extra 10 MP helps out. Watch out though, if your going in for a gank and your waiting in the brush, the enemy can see your debuff.

Terrify

: Q


Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11
Cost: 65 / 75 / 85 / 95 / 105
Range: 575

Strikes a target unit with fear, preventing it from taking any actions and causing it to run about aimlessly for 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 seconds

Explanation: An amazing CC. So many times right before a team fight, an enemy champion will over extend, Fiddle will fear them and your team will initiate and take an enemy member out immediately. Very useful for pretty much any situation.

Drain

: W


Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6
Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120
Range: 475

Fiddlesticks channels and leashses to a target for 5 seconds, dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 /180(+45% of ability power) magic damage each second and healing himself for 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 % of the damage done. If the target leaves the range of Fiddlesticks' leash, he will stop channeling.

Explanation: Drain will be your most important spell next to Crowstorm. This spell should get you at least one kill if you know how to use it. Knowing when to Drain can take some practice. Your Drain can be sometimes under powered when its not leveled all the way to 5, so be mindful of this. Use it sparingly Early game, as it sucks your Mana just as effective as enemy health. After an enemy over extends, you fear them, and simply drain them to death. Consider before this if the enemy champion has a silence, for example, Talon and Annie are just a few mid laners who can silence, and kill Fiddle with ease. Also, when you are draining an enemy that has an ability that makes them invisible (For example, Akali's Twilight Shroud), Keep draining! Fiddle will continue to Bountiful Harvest them even if they are invisible. This includes Leblanc's Mirror Image and Wukong's Warrior Trickster. Always remember, Watch out for Ignite early game when draining!

Dark Wind

Cost: 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130
Range: 750

Fiddlesticks throws a crow that strikes an enemy target, then continues to bounce from that enemy unit t another nearby enemy unit 5 times, dealing 65 / 85 / 105 / 125 / 145 (+45% of ability power) per bounce in magic damage and silencing for 1.2 seconds each strike. Dark Wind may strike the same target multiple times. Deals 50% increased damage to minions.

Explanation: Great harass as it does a lot of damage early game. as previously stated, its also great at defending against an invade, 4 or 5 enemy champions bunched close together? what better place to use your Reap and have it bounce off of each one, dealing Tons of damage. Reap can also be used to farm as well, but takes a little getting used to to use it effectively.

Crowstorm

Cooldown: 150 / 140 / 130
Cost: 150 / 200 / 250
Range: 800

Fiddlesticks targets a nearby location and then channels for 1.5 seconds. After the channel, he flashes to the target location with a flock of crows flying wildly around him for 5 seconds, dealing 125 / 225 / 325 (+45% of ability power) magic damage to all enemy units in the area each second.

Explanation: Devastating in team fights, great ganking ability if your jungling and just an overall extremely helpful Ultimate. Using Crowstorm in conjunction with Zhonya's Hourglass is an amazing combo. Timing, however, is everything on Crowstorm. Many times I've missed an opportunity because I timed Crowstorm wrong. I will have an entire section on how to use Crowstorm effectively.

Runes

On Fiddlesticks you want to have a balance between Mana Regeneration, MP and AP.
Heres a list of the runes I like to use:

Glyph of Ability Power x 9
Having raw AP will help immensely to your Bountiful Harvest, which is your most important spell, next to Crowstorm

Seal of Mana Regeneration x 9
Fiddle can sometimes have a bit of a Mana problem early game, so having Seal of Mana Regeneration helps out a lot.

Mark of Magic Penetration x 9
Magic Penetration is, as you probably guessed, good against champions who build Magic Resist. Champions will build magic resist against you, so having that extra MP helps. If they do not, may God have mercy on their soul.

Quintessence of Ability Power x 3
Quintessence of Ability Power gives the same advantage as Glyph of Ability Power, just at a higher bonus. You may also want to try out Quintessence of Spell Vamp

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells are completely up to you, although i recommend you take Flash as it effectively doubles the range of your Crowstorm.

I like to use Flash and Teleport. Flash because of the reason stated above, and Teleport because you can recall, get items and teleport back with losing little to no experience. It also give you a global presence on the map which is a great advantage.

Ignite is also a viable Summoner Spell, but in my experience I have not needed it.

The choice of Summoner Spells is up to you, but please, stay AWAY from Heal for obvious reasons.

I Believe Fiddle is at his strongest when you max Bountiful Harvest first. It gives excellent sustain, and if used correctly and at the right time, you can secure some early kills. Getting Reap first, is important though, it does an incredible amount of damage early game and is especially useful against invades as it bounces of each enemy champion. as long as your careful, Bountiful Harvest should not be needed immediately.

Very Simple Skill Sequence, max Bountiful Harvest first, then Terrify, and finally Reap. This is assuming when you have you the chance you always put a point into your Ultimate Crowstorm.

Items

Essentials


Doran's Ring and Sorcerer's Shoes are crucial to a good game. The Health from Doran's Ring is a great starting bonus along with the 15 ability power. The Mana Regeneration is also a great bonus. Boots will not be needed immediately and 3 Health Potions would be almost redundant, so Doran's Ring is the way to go.
Sorcerer's Shoes work extremely well with your passive, A Harmless Scarecrow. It helps to punch through an enemy laner when they build MR against you.
Hextech Revolver gives the much needed spell vamp Fiddle needs to suck even more health from his opponent. This item will save your life.
All in all these three items should give you a great start with Fiddle.

Purchase Order



Rod of Ages is a great item on Fiddle because of the increased health and Mana which will be needed, and the scaling Ability Power. I almost always pick one of these up.
Heavy AP team? Abyssal Mask is the way to go. it gives you ability power and Magic Resist, also its passive work well with A Harmless Scarecrow.
you should get Zhonya's Hourglass regardless if the enemy team is AD or AP. The only difference is if the enemy team is heavy AP, you get Abyssal Mask first, and then Zhonya's Hourglass.
Rabadon's Deathcap, an ideal item for any AP champion. Raw AP, this item will give you great edge against any team, make sure to pick this up.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter gives a lot of health, Ability Power and a unique passive that will slow your enemy's for a short period of time. I like to pick this up later in the game when I have most of the important items. Its health bonus really helps when the enemy team focuses you which many will do.
Void Staff helps when the enemy team is just stacking and stacking Magic Resist. This plus Rabadon's Deathcap makes a great combo.
Using these items you should be able to play a great Fiddle in mid lane.

Crowstorm Tactics

Learning how an when to use your Crowstorm is the most important part of being Fiddle, it makes or breaks him. It takes a lot of practice and trial and error to correctly use your Crowstorm, so practice often.


Early Game - Mid Game

Get your enemy to around half health, let them push to about the middle of the lane, feign retreat but make sure they're in range of Crowstorm and then ult to them. If they Flash, (Which most champions do) you also Flash and they should be dead soon.

Mid Game - Team Fights - End Game

After the lane phase ends, I use my ult to initiate or to clean up, never in the middle of a team fight. If you use your ult in the middle of a teamfight there is a much greater chance of being silenced while channeling which will effectively end Fiddle's teamfight ability aside from his Terrify> Bountiful Harvest combo. However, there are always going to be scenarios where these rules don't apply. Everything depends on your judgement.

Zhonya's Hourglass

Getting Zhonya's Hourglass is one of the best items you can get for Fiddle. It makes your Crowstorm something that is truly feared. Once your ult stops channeling and your flashed to your target location, pop your Zhonya's as soon as you can, otherwise you will die quickly. The enemy team will panic, running anyway they can to avoid your Crows. Your team should follow into the team fight, if they don't, goodbye.....and good luck.

One good Crowstorm can change the course of a game, so use it often!
