About the guide and me.

I am a top and jungle main who started playing in 2013, I love this game and decided to make a simple guide, I am guessing you probably already know the jungle basics like contesting Scuttler, Drake, Baron and Rift Herald. I hope this guide helps you atleast a little bit!

About the items.

Machete is your best starting item.

Guinsoo's is a great item on an on-hit build, and nothing really beats it, this should be your first item after your jungling item and boots.

I usually take Titanic Hydra for the tankiness it gives you to survive, but other items can do that too, I will explain this in a bit.

Blade of the ruined king for the lifesteal, generally good.

Guardian Angel to finish it off.

Now other good items are Frozen Mallet for chasing, or Bloodthirster instead of Blade of the ruined king for more lifesteal. Sterak's Gage gives you tankiness and dmg. Black cleaver is an all around good item, so is death's dance, and ravenous hydra if you prefer it rather than Titanic Hydra.

About the runes.

PRECISION

I prefer Conqueror, it is great beacuse the true damage melts tanks after you have killed their squishy champions.

Triumph is really the best choice here.

You can either go Alacrity or Bloodline, but I prefer Bloodline beacuse I think it rewards you more than Alacrity, you get 8% lifesteal in total and I think that will help you survive in teamfights.

Coup de grace is my favourite and the best here imho.

DOMINATION

Sudden impact activates with your Q and helps you deal massive damage.

You can go with alot of good things here but I take relentless hunter beacuse it helps me get around the map more to gank or clear camps in general.

Jungle clear.

You should always start red in my opinion, Yi doesn't need blue that much in the early game so I prefer red all the time.

Clear:

Red
Krugs
Scuttler (on the side of where you started your clear)
Wolfs
Blue
Gromp
Scuttler

Top lane.

You should take Doran's blade against champions that you counter or champions that go even in lane with you.

You should take Doran's shield when the enemy counters you or has a lot of poke.

You can mostly outtrade everyone on lvl 3, but you should not all in, just quick trades and heal up with meditate. On lvl 6 you can kill alot of champions, but all inning them now is up to experience with yi if you will be able to do enough damage.
