Hi, im Mystery and I am just a normal player on League of Legends. I love to play Garen as I think he is a very fun champion. The recent update has made Garen a late game monster.

Pros
-Extremely Tanky
-Lots of damage late game
-Quite fast
-Ultimate makes up for the lack of ignite
Cons
-Prone to being kited
-Not very good initiations
-Able to be poked easily early game

Starting Items
The Doran's Shield is an amazing item on Garen because it gives him everything he needs. It allows him to survive poke damage for much longer and allows him to regen health much faster.

Core Items
The Refillable Potion gives Garen a gold efficient sustain option. You should always take this.

The Phage gives Garen some nice early game Damage, Health and Move speed. It gives him everything he needs like the Doran's Shield but in a bigger package.

The Chain Vest provides you with some early game Armor. Take this against AD champions.

Mercury's Treads give Garen some early Magic Resistance, but the main thing is the tenacity and the movement speed. Tenacity is vital to shrug off CC quicker so you can stay with your target. You should have a total of 45% Tenacity once you get these because of your masteries. The movement speed allows Garen to stick with targets as well.

Mid game items
Black Cleaver is a very strong item on Garen. It makes his E shred the enemies Armor. His E also hits more times whilst Garen levels up meaning this can get to full stacks ALARMINGLY FAST making it very strong in that aspect. It also increases his tankiness.

The Dead Man's Plate is an item that you should also always have. It makes Garen much more tankier, but the main reason I like this item is the passives. It makes Garen much more faster and allows him to stick to targets easier, it also procs Momentum damage which is great with your Q.

Youmuu's Ghostblade is one of my favourite items, It not only improves your damage by a whole lot, but it also improves your mobility and initiations. Need to catch up to their ADC? pop this item. Need to escape? pop this item. Need to roam quicker? 40 movement speed out of combat.

Late game items
Spirit Visage increases all healing by 30% meaning it affects your passive massively, this is because your passive heals better the more Health you have so the 30% bonus gets bigger and bigger the more Health you have. It also affects Masteries and your normal Health Regen. The 10% CDR is also a very nice addition to this item as it allows you to use abilities more often. This item in general gives Garen some amazing stats.

The Infinity Edge is the icing on the cake. With it, garen will become a spinning death machine. What i mean is that E can crit, and since his spin hits so many times at high level he is going to crit a lot even with just the 20% chance.

With all these items, you should be able to quickly kill the carries no problem.
